This was my first time in a hostal I was amazingly pleased. Hostal Casa Verde is in a great location close to many food options, bars and attractions. It is clean, comfortable and I felt right at home as soon as walked in. The food was great and reasonably priced. Carlo’s and the staff are great. I will definitely return.
Property does not have a sign with the name which made it a bit hard to find.

Nice location, friendly people and a little roof top terrace.
We had a (twin)room without a window! Only window in the bathroom and entrance corridor, but those doors were closed during night because of light / noise. No no window in the actual room, therefore the price was too high for that room.

One of the best hostels I have been so far. Super comfortable and has basically everything you could want as a backpacker. The breakfast was always amazing. And the owner and the staff are absolutely lovely. I would not secondguess this one. There is probably no better choice in Santa Ana!
Thanks for the amazing stay!!

Casa Verde was a wonderful hostel. I forgot I booked a private room so I was quite pleased when I was led to my room to find it was just for me and had its own bathroom. The room was very clean and a super high point is that the shower water gets nice and hot.
The owner (at least I think he was) greeted me every morning by name and was very personable.
Breakfast was such a treat every morning. The lovely ladies in the kitchen did a great job at offering a different variety every morning.
Check-in and check-out was very quick, and everyone was so kind and professional.
Overall I was very pleased with my stay and would definitely stay here again.
If I had one small complaint it would be when the driver that took us to the lake and volcano complained that we could’ve tipped him more and made a facial expression as if he was annoyed.
I’ve honestly been traveling for a while and just am over tipping for every little thing.
He was great though up until that moment.
Also, I wish we had a little more time at the lake. We were only given about an hour. So if you plan on spending time at the lake, maybe just catch the bus or call an Uber to drop you off. We booked through the hostel and the guy waited in the car for us, so we only had a short time there.

It’s got everything. Restaurant and bar, swimming pool, air conditioning (for my private room), hammocks, kitchen, snack and drinks for sale, and everything else you can think of. It also offer transportation to Santa Ana volcano hike with lunch at coatepeque lake ($20). It’s very easy to meet people there. Location is great too. 5 minute walk to bus station for buses to ruta flores and 8 minute walk to cathedral.
Nothing. It’s really a great hostel.

Great free breakfast, met lovely people and best showers
A little expensive for backpackers

This guy knows how to run a hostel - had everything including meals on request, a bar, cooking facilities, free water and an honesty box for snacks. Good info on tours and picks ups from bus station.
Felt a little unsafe on the very quiet streets although no issues to report. Max 10 mins to the vibrant city square.

Nice rooms, patio and terrace. Great prices for drinks, nice kitchen and most importantly great staff!
Common tours or activities you can book at the Hostel would be nice, but you get a lot of information though. E.g. how to get to Santa Ana volcano for a bargain by local bus

Clean room, friendly staffs, good foods and drinks.
They don't really have a parking space, cars have to be parked on street.

* Nice courtyard and clean swimming pool
* rain shower in my dorm room with hot water
* fans and AC in the dorm
* excellent shared kitchen
* staff are really helpful
* rooftop terrace with a great view of Santa Ana and the surrounding mountains
* I didn’t like the breakfast so much and there wasn’t any options
* it was very quiet when I was staying there so as a solo traveller I didn’t meet many other people
* there wasn’t always someone on reception and a few times I needed help and had to wait a while

Literally on of the best accommodation I've ever had while traveling the world since 2015(!). Carlos (the owner) helps you with EVERYTHING 😉 you have everything you need, nice amenities, pool, beer and beverages, snacks and the staff is lovely as well
Everything was perfect

Best kitchen in any hostel I've ever been to! And the breakfasts that were included were different everyday and always delicious with generous portions!

everything you need as a backpacker from a hostel was provided for - even European outlets. great breakfast.

The roof top, but it is under construction right now, so not usable.
The tours are expensive, better take an uber to the volcano.
What you get for breakfast depends on what they do have, some get fruits and joghurt others not, because they don't have enough of it for all guests. You get one plate of omlette, beans and there are cereals and cofe available but it is not a buffet and if you take more cereals you get told that they have to save food that it lasts for all.
The vans in the dorm are very loud to sleep with when they are turned on.
The air in the dorm was not fresh.
Too many beds in the dorm, there are 8.

shower great, beds comfortable, bathrooms well-thought out, plenty of room, loved the rooftop patio, the honor bar and interaction with the other guests.

The property is very clean and beautiful, the shared dorm has two bathrooms, and the bed come with a sort of open closet which is perfect to place your bags and hang your clothes after a day swimming or scaling waterfalls.
the kitchen is great and really made me feel like I was in a hope kitchen because of how well it was stocked. you get your own shelf in the fridge.
nothing I was completely happy

The reviews are true! This really may be the best hostal in El Salvador (or maybe most of Central America).
The owner is exceptional - so kind and helpful. The room was amazing - large, comfortable, and quiet with a great view. Wi-fi is strong so it's easy to work. The pool is beautiful. Thank you!!

Stayed in a private here. A little bit more expensive than other privates in Santa Ana but worth it. Room was clean, bathroom nice. The shower was a rain style shower with the best water pressure I’ve experienced, hot water, honestly one of the best showers I’ve come across. Hammocks around the hostel were nice to chill, terrace for a few drinks with other guests. The breakfast was above and beyond with both cold and hot options that vary daily. Well stocked kitchen. Staff were really helpful. Really great hostel :)

Doesn’t get any better … loved the on-site wine bar complete with travellers comfort food… red Thai curry, steak and chips, affordable wines…. Casa Verde has facilities that rival 3 star hotels with the added benefit of shared kitchen, swimming pool, and more. Carlos and his team are a joy to engage and just make you feel relaxed. I think this is the best hostel I’ve encountered in my 22 years of travelling the world… Thank you Carlos and Team!!!
Everything was excellent.

Rooms surrounding 2 courtyards, one with a table and hammocks and another with the swimming pool. There is a big kitchen with plenty of refrigerator space compared to other hostels. Staff was really friendly too!
