Very quiet, perfect location for RHS Rosemore, easy parking, friendly welcome and lovely home cooked breakfast & pub fare, well appointed comfortable room.
Some steep steps to bedrooms

The bar staff were very friendly. Devon the dog was good. Food that was available was good ,Room was clean Pub being 300 hundred years old was quirky different heights in ceilings . small rooms to sit in the pub were very cosy
Well landlady could be more friendly hardly spoke to use and other couple had same reaction. It was if we shouldn't of been there ,This may account of no one using the pub as it was empty on Friday and Saturday night ,We were lucky other couple were nice to talk to to pass the night away.We didn't like to order breakfast day before and found portions varied for each customer . only 1 cup of tea and coffee at breakfast not offered more. My wife found the bed so uncomfortable that she slept on floor ,

We were on a cycling break and this venue was picked due to its proximity to the NCN 27. Secure storage was provided for our bikes. Peaceful location and we had a lovely spacious room with all the touches you need. Everyone was very friendly and I would recommend this inn and its accommodation.
Nothing to dislike.

Spacious, comfortable, clean bedroom and bathroom
The freshly-cooked English breakfast was good; it would have been nice to have had the option of a continental-style breakfast.

A beautiful old pub in the perfect location for exploring Devon. Our room was lovely - spotlessly clean with a very comfy bed - and breakfast was delicious. Becky the landlady couldn’t have been more welcoming and friendly and Devon the dog was the most well behaved gentleman pooch we’ve ever met!

Nice little pub. Room newly decorated and with en-suite bathroom. Good to have a bath.Good tea and coffee supplies.
Owner very friendly
Good breakfast
Such a shame that I couldn’t put a higher rating, but the rowdy locals carried on until 2 am on our first night and I couldn’t sleep. The next night things quietened down a bit earlier!

Awfull this pub b&b!
The owner has no respect for b&b customers. When i complained about the food she reacted very rude. She did nothing to make it better.
The day menu was magnetron food, no vitamine so absolute awfull and bad prepared!
Our shower stopted after 2 minutes and was empty, no cold or warm water in the morning?! Bad all!!
This very unfriendly lady makes her OWN reviews!! We now believe that all of the negative reviews are true.

No, we will never return to this bad little pub!

Pub was a very characterful old building - the whitewashed corridor to our room was amazing. Room was clean, cosy and comfortable with all the expected amenities. Dinner and breakfast both homecooked and tasty. A few lovely pints of Dartmoor Legend before bedtime. Becky the landlady was lovely and we had the company of Devon the dog as we sat in the bar.
The night we stayed there was a lively birthday party going on with a large group of exuberant young men. This kept the staff very busy and we waited over 10 minutes on arrival before being welcomed. The group was noisy as can be expected in a pub but may have been a bit much for some and sound seemed to travel in the building. They were however quiet before midnight and we slept like logs.

Where to begin, Becky and Chloe were very welcoming from the minute we arrived until we left. The room was beyond our expectations and the bathroom was very modern.
We opted for the room with the sofa and this was more than comfortable after a day out, to sit and unwind with a drink or two whilst watching TV.
The bathroom was spacious and Becky had even thought about leaving some full size shower gel, shampoo and conditioner.
Becky made sure there was ample supplies of tea, coffee, sugar and there was even a little fridge to keep the milk fresh. Not found often in other places we have visited!
I liked the position of the mirror to a plug, to enable hair drying and a full hair dryer was available. Most essential.
The bar area is small and cosy and locals were friendly. There is ample space for seating, with little rooms leading off the main bar area. A good menu of food is available at reasonable prices. Breakfast was filling each morning and freshly cooked. Order placed the evening before ensured that you did not have to wait long.
Devon the Labrodoodle loved to see you and always wanted to be stroked!
There was nothing to not like about the Malt Scoop Inn. Some people may not like the location, it is the middle of nowhere but this suited us.

Everything was great. The pub is a traditional country pub with airs and graces. Becky was a lovely hostess and couldn’t do enough for us. spotless room and bathroom, even providing toiletries. Fresh milk for tea in the room was very welcome indeed. Chloe was very attentive and friendly, nothing was too much trouble.
There was nothing to dislike.

Absolute breathe of fresh air to stay in a normal pub, the staff were fantastic and so was the food and ale. Exactly how things should be done….and exactly the reason I don’t stay in chain hotels when I’m travelling. Thank you Malt Scoop
