Room and staff were good. Position was very convenient.
Needed a more extensive evening menu. Grounds were not somewhere you could stroll around. Reception area was the bar and was not swept regularly. No help available to carry suitcase up two flights of stairs (needed as an older person). Restaurant was a walk away outside from accommodation.

Staff was very good only problem you have to see who is cooking breakfast
The manager is very rude and not professional. Even his own staff said he needs to go on a course on how to deal with clients
I went up to get a glass of wine only to ask how are stay was I said it says it is luxury which it is not said loo brush was rusty and also the pillows are flat and lumpie
Garden chairs are rusty i have pictures to provide.
only to be told his clients like it that way I also said is it OK to swap the chair we had on the decking as a little higher for me as have bad back which again come back at me and said they are the same height so I just walked out I have neaver know a more unprofessional man in my life
He then said to me I suppose you are not going to look at our luxury lodges we have for sale
I said, " You misrepresented your lodges in your adverts, not anywhere. Don't say the lodges are 17 years old? You are making out that they are new
He is a con artist and a very nasty man would not recommend to anyone to stay unless this man is not there
I do not do reviews but had to say as not a very good experience
I am still waiting for breakfast refund, which he said was going to refund again have not received

Staff at breakfast were excellent, food was to a high consistent standard and any specific requests were met without anything appearing an issue.
Wine list was in transition, so a number of wines were not available for our evening meal, which was a shame as two of the wines that I was interested in prior to arrival were no longer available.

Breakfast very good location lovely
Sunday meal was very good . However, a La carte was too expensive

Location was lovely and the cottage was just amazing. Spacious, clean and comfortable. Surroundings grounds made for a lovely stroll. There was a much needed fan in the cottage and little fridge. Was so quiet and tranquil with only the sounds of nature. Large cosy bed and the free standing bath helped relieve the tired legs from the days adventures.
The walk-in shower not draining properly was a let down on the whole experience. By the time you shampooed, your feet were fully immersed in water. Was having to turn the shower off mid use to help drainage.

We would stay a week next time. Beautiful and wonderful staff and food!

The staff were very friendly and efficient . We had a Garden Room, away from the main building ,which suited us better and gave more flexibility. Although there was a fixed breakfast menu, the kitchen would willingly make changes to accomodate individual clients.
Meals - A new chef had just started. Although elements of the menu varied daily some of the dishes we had were under cooked and the 'Creme Brulet on the final evening was nothing like it should have been and was missing the advertised shortbread.
Ground Maintenance- While the lawned area surrounding the central lakes was well maintained, the area around the garden rooms hadn't been mown as evidenced by the number of tree saplings and discarded planks behind our accomodation made the place look untidy. The guttering on some of the cabins needed cleaning out due to the sprouting saplings. The wooden patio furniture needed cleaning, sanding and a coat of preservative.

After being initially disappointed to find that our Classic room had only a skylight, we were moved to a wonderful room overlooking the idyllic gardens with an extremely comfortable huge double bed!
The bathroom was equally luxurious and everywhere was spotlessly clean!
We ate dinner and breakfast in the bar and both were of an extremely high quality. All the staff were extremely helpful, friendly and polite and nothing was too much trouble! We stayed here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and will definitely return again!

The estate is spectacular and the cabins are modern, fit for purpose and comfortable. Restaurant and breakfast are a must-try. We had a live music bad playing during dinner, which was an unexpected plus.
Hard to reach without a car.

staff were very welcoming, our room was comfortable and clean. Good choice for breakfast
we eat in the restaurant the first evening and was disappointed with the overall cost, portion size and seasoning.

Me and my partner stayed in the garden suite and we loved it. Staff was very friendly, cleanliness was excellent, the food was amazing. I would definitely recommend to friends and family.
The only bad thing I could say about this place is that if you don’t drive it’s a-bit of a problem to get to and get around the area but apart from that we loved it.

Beautiful hotel and gardens. Friendly attentive staff. Great food.

The room and the grounds were lovely as were the staff we encountered.
The room was a great but it was a little disappointing that the WiFi was not reliable at all and that the room did not have a smart TV.
However most disappointing was our dining experience. Whilst the food was good it took a long time for each course to arrive. In one particular case it was longer than 20mins between them. Considering we ordered from a set menu, this shouldn't happen. Next we have the whole menu situation. As a table we all had to order from the same menu. It was either the set menu (which didn't suit both of us) or the A la cart menu (which again didn't suit us both) Then when it came to preparing our meal we were not asked how we would like it to be cooked. As if the chef knows better than we do what we like. Portions were small and unimpressive. Not worth the high price we were charged. To top it all off we decided we would sit upstairs in the lounge with some after dinner cocktails. We went up to the bar where we were told to just go up to the lounge and someone would be up shortly to take our order rather than just order at the bar. We waited for 30 mins with no one coming to take our order so in the end we just left. Overall, it left us with a somewhat disappointing valentines meal and evening. I would recommend the room but def do not recommend the restaurant. Not what I would call fine dining food but def fine dining prices. And overall not a good experience.

TV was bit small/toilet wouldn't flush/safe wouldn't work

Couldn’t really fault the Garden View cabin we had. Nice and clean, modern etc. Staff very attentive. Food in restaurant was excellent. Breakfast was comprehensive.
Only improvement would be a USB power supply by the bed. Only found two sockets accessible in the room - not enough for two phones and two watches.

They gave us a free upgrade which was lovely. The coach house food in the evening was superb! But breakfast was disappointing but maybe we choose wrong. We would go back for a treat as it was stunning 😍
It was very cold that night and the radiator was behind the curtains, we had to put them on the windowsill.
