Good location

The place looks nothing like on the picture and is currently a construction site. Further, the host gave us the wrong room for the first night, which is next to lots of garbage bags and made us change the room after one night. According to previous comments, this is unfortunately a reoccuring problem. The host is not very hospitable and made us pay extra for a broken key, which was clearly not our fault.

Paradise

We liked the beach right there with the fish market in front and the tuk-tuk’s cruising by with the perfect view of it all on a second story platform . We liked the cats, and the beer in the fridge, our comfy room and the hot shower, the host who was super cool and steered us in all the right directions.

That we couldn’t sleep on the very tip top floor because it’s not ready yet.

Great stay near the beach and activities

Small, simple, clean room with private bathroom, comfortable, mosquito net, and fan. Great view from the common area

Right outside my window, wood was being treated with some kind of spray which made my room smell very toxic for one or two days.

The terras and outdoor kitchen are really nice. The room is small but good and clean.

The garden downstairs is a complete mess with all kind of stuff, furniture and materials all over the place. It is not part of the hostel, but it feels like your are staying in the middle of a reclycling park.

The beach and fish market were close, so it was easy to move. There is a large supermarket nearby.

The oven in the kitchen is old and the firepower is not good, and the old fan needs to be replaced. In addition, there is no handrail on the second floor, so there is a risk of falling, so be careful about safety.

Felt like I had a home for a week, not just a place to sleep.

it was basically right on the beach. my second floor room had a gorgeous view of the beach. Heidi is an engaging host, a font of local information and becomes a friend quickly.

This is not a luxury stay. You’re not getting hot water. What you’re getting is a very affordable accommodation on the beach and Heidi. She is the best host I have had on my trip.

The location was excellent, with stunning views. The rooftop kitchen was great.

Clean, nice accommodation with ocean wiew

Heidi is really nice person, she organized a trip for us to Isla Plata, Puerto Lopez is great place for enjoying fishes market (Heidi taught us how to prepare shrimps), nice terrace with kitchen and wiew, clean room, cold shower but it is not problem in hot weather, also take some ears plugs for sleeping because of the cock (they are everywhere in Ecuador) :))

Superb

Heidis place is the perfect place to have some calm days in Puerto Lopez. The view from the open kitchen on the sea is amazing and you can buy some fish for your lunch or dinner just on the opposite side of the road. Heidi is super kind and helpful! Another point: Heidi gives shelter to 4 homeless cats which are super cute! <3

It is incredibly loud. There are a millions roosters and dogs around that never shut the fck up. Its impossible to sleep after 3 a.m. would not recommend. No hot water in the rooms.

Great location, kind host, a little run down room, could be noisy.

Heidi was very kind, location was amazing, although we kinda were taken aback by our room, we got used to it. Heidi was very responsive (once she provided WhatsApp), gave local tips, and helped us book our Isla De Plata tour for the next day. The tour guide, Richard?, was very nice and knowledgeable, not sure company name, but boats name was Luz de Luna. Our room opened to the kitchen on the second floor patio, this patio would be used by many guests and got a little noisy right outside our room, but if we had been in the mood to socialize maybe wouldn’t have been a problem. Decent kitchen available, but maybe used by others. Very nice view of the street and peer and bay with fishing boats and lots of action. Despite feeling our room was a little run down on first inspection (no door to bathroom-only curtain, no shower head and only cold water in room-hot shower available downstairs in some other room), we ended up really enjoying the space, mostly for the location.

Despite this, we ended up enjoying the space, especially due to location.

I felt like I received very good value for my money. The place is very close to the beach and there are many nice restaurants around. The place has Cici, the nicest dog you’ll meet and Heidi will always help you with any question!

Amazing view of the fishing boats and beach, cute dog, and wonderful owner who offered great travel advice and tips of local tours/ things to do. This place has a super chill vibe and we didnt want to leave.
