The people that own the place are very kind and generous. You can tell they put a lot of love into El Nido. The location was great, close to everything, the breakfast was delicious, and they have the best coffee on the strip. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. My room was comfortable and clean.
I was there for a week and they cleaned my room twice, and once gave me new towels. I'm not sure if it was a communication issue, or their procedure, but that was a bit annoying.

Amazing location, really comfortable room (amazing sheets), really friendly and helpful staff, great location

The breakfast was excellent with fresh fruit, coffee, juice, scrambled eggs with a choice of potatoes, pancakes, etc. El Nido is located at the north-central end of the Malecon where it is quieter.
I stayed in the room on the bottom level; it was like staying in a cave. There is a small window which is covered by vines so there is very little natural light. The room was listed as “side sea view” which is false advertising as I could barely see the river just across the road. The rate for the room is the same as the other “ side sea view” rooms on the second floor with sliding glass doors to a small balcony. If I stay at El Nido again, i will insist on having a room on the second level.

The decoration and the Confort
The price is just a little too high for the area.

Great hotel located a 3 minute walk to the center of everything. It was great to be close to everything but not right in the middle of all the super loud music. Beds are super comfortable, the wifi worked great (which was a pleasant surprise) and the breakfasts are delicious. The shower also had BOTH hot water and pressure.

The owners Eric and Marguerita were so helpful. They arranged a tour of the Isla de la Plata for us, as well as a car to drive us to Las Frailes beach, which is very beautiful. The location is excellent, a few minutes away from the main part of town but far enough to be away from the music of the bars. The hotel is very clean, well appointed, with pretty rooms, and the breakfasts were really delicious. They served a different Ecuadorian breakfast every day. The staff were kind and helpful. And the coffee was delicious! We had real cappuccinos every day. And the wifi worked really well. I would definitely stay there again!

Good breakfast!
The room I was given was not the one shown in the photos. The ones in the photos had a balcony a fridge, a closet. Mine had nothing but a bed. Not even a hook to hang my clothes.

The staff was very helpful and accommodating.
The location was perfect...easy walk to everywhere and just steps from the beach.
Everything was very clean and comfortable!
We will definitely stay here again!
It would have been nice to have been given fresh towels once when they cleaned the room.

Beautiful place to stay at. Right at the beach a few meters away. The staff is really attentive and kind. They make the most amazing breakfast each morning, which you can enjoy while watching the sea from your seat.
Some things like the shower could use some attention. Wasn't working properly all the time.

Kinda tucked a couple blocks north of town in a stand alone yellow gold 2 story. Nice! Cute outdoor and connected indoor cafe. Excellent staff and breakfast that changes daily. Netflix too lol

We loved it here! The B&B really has a boutique style, and you see that every detail is thought through by the owners. We stayed in the seaview room which is lovely and spacious. It had a large comfy bed with a lot of pillows. The room even has a smart TV with a Netflix account so after a day of whale watching, you can relax and watch a movie on the mountain of pillows on the bed. The breakfast is great too! A more culinary version of the local breakfast with fresh fruits as well. Would definitely recommend.

The BB was perfect. The room was perfect size with a little balcony with ocean view. The bed was super comfy. The location is perfect.. it's close enough to the night strip and far enough away for quiet. The are IA perfectly walkable and easy to catch taxi. Oh and cook to order breakfast was great they catered to me being plant based. I will recommend and stay again.
Can't think of anything..

Delicious breakfast, different everyday, generous portions and good coffee. Comfy bed and hot shower. Perfect location for whale watching (right on the beach 2 mins from the tour company!) which is the reason we came to Puerto Lopez. We even spotted a few whales from the roof top terrace which was amazing! Shout out to Mike who let us use a few glasses from the kitchen for our home made sangria, and all the other staff was super friendly and welcoming.

full excellent breakfast, they also accepted to cook breakfast for me earlier than breakfast hours as I was leaving early
amazing attention and communication with staff
organized my tour to Isla de la plata

This is the best place in all of Puerto Lopez! It is a really nice hotel, seriously comfortable, cozy and quiet. The breakfast is absolutely the best in town!! But the people make the place and the people are amazing! Everyone is so friendly and accommodating. They are great help in setting up tours or helping with anything you might need. I got pretty sick and everyone was taking care of me. That doesn't usually happen in a hotel. I made life long friends here! They made me feel like family my first few days there and I ended up staying for almost two months.

We had a very comfortable room with a second equally wonderful complementary smaller bed. The little extra blanket that was laying on top of each bed was very soft and inviting. We felt so cozy that we watched two Netflix movies on the tv that included Netflix and YouTube. I have not even turned on a tv in over a month. The property overlooked the beach to the front and a river to the side. Our room was supposedly the biggest one and had a window overlooking the river whereas one of the rooms can look out on the beach. The hot water in the shower was divine and I took my longest shower in months. The breakfast was delicious and they even made some special things due to dietary requirements. The ownership was also extremely friendly and helpful. All the boardwalk restaurants and action were right there, but the location is sort of on the edge of the boardwalk so there is not much noise as if you are right smack in the middle. Great stay. Highly recommend.
The sun never came out in our three days. I am not sure if this is due to the time of year, simple bad luck, or the micro climate in this part of the Ecuadorian coast, but if it is indicative of the future, I think it would eventually get depressing to live somewhere with minimal direct sunshine.

Friendly guys, good breakfast. The location is perfect. 2 minutes from the bars and restaurants but quite.
Good recommendation for a tour to isla de la plata.

Starting with the room, HUGE and clean and the most comfortable bed!! The bathroom was lovely - and they provided great toiletries. The location of the hotel was perfect. Just at the middle of the beach - far enough away from the fishing docks to avoid the noise, but just a quick 5 minute stroll to the many restaurants and tour operators on the beachfront. Breakfast was beyond. The normal "included" breakfast was what you would normally pay for in a restaurant. This was not your roll, fruit and juice. Fresh eggs made to order, pancakes one day and the most delicious pan fried potatos. The hosts were charming and so full of suggestions of where to go and what to do - it really made it easy to see all of the things. The final day - the host told us about a monkey excursion he had taken....which probably means....we'll need to go back again. I am so glad we chose to stay at El Nido and we will be back!!

The breakfast changes daily and the staff are so nice. Michael was amazingly helpful and always so nice and Mercedez made my time at the hotel feel like home. I would recommend this hotel!
