Très beau riad, décoré avec goût. Literie de qualité, petit déjeuner au top et personnel au petit soin
Localisation un peu difficile si on a pas de voiture, prévoir un petit budget taxi

We felt immediately at home in this little oasis. Sophie is the perfect hostess - giving us some fantastic recommendations and making us feel very welcome. Mehdi was a brilliant chef and entertained us with his conversation. Shout out to the property pets too - who are very friendly too!

Very warm and welcoming personnel as well as the owner of the property. Always there to help with any of our requests or questions. Clean, comfortable, rooms just as described, heated pool, tasty food, what else would you wish for?🙂 Definitely recommended! it’s a place where you want to come back.
maybe the bathroom facilities outside requires a bit more attention and weak wifi in the pool area but this has not influenced our stay or experience in any way.

Dar Alya is a stylish, peaceful hideaway and Sophie and her staff made us feel so welcome. The food is excellent and very reasonably priced and Sophie also spent lots of time giving us recommendations of places to eat in Essaouira as well as assisting us with transport from Marrakech. I would highly recommend.

Great stay at Sophie's house. The property is magnificent with a great pool, rooms and common areas. Staff very helpful and great service throughout our stay. Breakfast and other meals were delicious. Sophie is also helpful for any advice, activities, recommendations etc.. Felt like we were at home!

Dar Alya is one of the most beautifully designed places we have ever stayed, and Sophie is a lovely and welcoming host. We stayed there for two nights and ate there both nights. They have a wonderful chef and their food is fantastic. There is a lovely pool, friendly cats and dogs, and three gorgeous suites. It's designed beautifully. Since we had a rental car we liked staying outside of central Essaouira, and definitely recommend Sophie, her team, and Dar Alya for a peaceful stay on the coast.

-It's such a beautiful place, a true gem. A lush garden, nice pool area, tastefully decorated....
-Sophie is very accommodating and will treat you like long lost relatives
-staff is very friendly
-Ideal place for animal lovers. Sophie took in a dog and several stray cats and they are simply adorable. I'm not even a big fan of cats but they totally made me change my mind. They all have very particular personalities and love to interact with guests. Don't be surprised to have them visiting you in your room, jumping on your dinner table or finding a comfortable spot next to you while you are having breakfast
-there was a walk-in closet. i have never seen it before and absolutely loved it. You finally dont spoil a nice room by simply unpacking your suitcase
-I didnt see a single mosquito. YES!
-CANDLES! First place I have ever seen that provides candles and a lighter to guests. I sometimes bring candles from back home so I was delighted to find them there. It creates a wonderful atmosphere. There is also a fireplace which I imagine must be fantastic in the winter
-from all the regular rooms (didnt see the suite) I liked ours the best
-Not ideal if you don't have a car (we rented one though and knew that in advance, so that was not an issue). Don't expect to have restaurants and bars around (etc.). Perfect if you have a car and want to chill out.
-It would be great if the room could simply be paid through booking.com
-Maybe not ideal if you have animal hair allergies (not an issue for us)
-Pool could be in better shape. Certain appliances were rusty and one of the underwater lamps wasn't fixed properly which made us sometimes wonder whether we might get electrocuted
-be aware that there is no AC (it is relatively windy though. In general, nets on the windows would be great to keep the insects - mainly flies - out)
-Definitely a huge advantage if you speak French, might be difficult otherwise
-Best not to discuss vaccines and COVID
-would be great to have at least two meal options for the dinner. Dinner outside much cheaper but the one we had at the Dar was tasty and it saved us from having to drive to the city

You feel like at home and among friends . Absolutely fascinating place with beautiful garden and swimming pool. Eating there is a true Moroccan home made cuisine experience; Delicious. The fireplace in the room absolutely romantic and heated bathroom floor a very appreciated plus during cold nights
