Excellent location, everything walking distance. Staff was friendly and gave us a lot of nice recommendations!
8.0 / 10.0
The staff is amazing. Everyone was incredibly nice and seemed to really care that we had a nice stay. They set up our cab to our next destination and gave us recommendations for places to eat. We also loved the location. You can walk to anything you need within ten minutes or less. And we enjoyed sitting on our balcony and people watching.
The room was very dark. The lights were so dim, you might as well have left them off. Street noise was also really loud at night. The hotel is near a lot of bars and restaurants and nightlife. People who need it completely quiet to sleep will either need to bring earplugs or stay elsewhere.

Beautiful colonial building in the heart of old San Juan, perfectly preserved and very tastefully decorated. The staff and receptionist were incredibly helpful in offering suggestions for dinner or excursions and even moved me to a bigger room

Location was central to the activities we planned.
I booked two rooms French Balcony. One room was okay, the other was horrible. Room was cramped, dark, little natural light, you could hear the music upstairs at the bar. Balcony opened up to an ally of some sort. No view, just looking at a wall. The room that was just okay, the ceiling was falling apart in the bathroom, the shower looked nothing like the pics, the iron leaked water all over my clothes. I called for a new iron and the receptionist asked if I could wait an hour until some staff member arrived to work. It was about 7:30 am and our tour started at 9:00 am. I said absolutely not. The hair dryer was filthy. For the price I paid neither room was worth it. They offered no discount a a stated they didn’t have anything else’s comparable to what I purchased available. Definitely won’t ever stay here again.

A/C sound was loud all the time, needed earplugs.
Dirty hairs all over the shower when we arrived.
Very unconfortable pillows..

The hotel was very good. However, There was an issue with our reservation and they could only honor the first night of our stay. so we had to be sent to a different hotel after one night, but the staff at Decanter did an excellent job of taking care of us, moved our luggage for us etc…and were super kind and caring, especially the manager lady! I would stay here again for sure, mostly due to their excellent customer service.
The AC was noisy
9.0 / 10.0
Great location and the rooms were roomy. The AC works very well.
On weekends it’s extremely loud outside and you can hear everything. There are people partying on the street and cars with very loud music in all through the nights.
The AC works well but to adjust the temp you have to talk to front desk and they’ll adjust it for you.

i loved the aesthetic & vibe of the hotel.
The rooftop bar was cute & staff was so friendly.
Room couldve been a little bigger, but it was still super cute.
& the bar was only open on one day of my trip, & the resturant wasnt open at all during my stay there, so that was dissapointing.

location
Staff at reception was rude. Bathroom was not clean, it had hair in the shower, the room was very noisy, next to a patio with noise, we could not sleep. We ask for a change of room because of the noise and they said no and did not solve the problem. This hotel is expensive for what you get.

The hotel is architecturally beautiful. The room was very clean and comfortable.
Our only complaint is the lack of parking available. We were disappointed to have to wake up early and move our vehicle. There were also people shouting multiple times in the middle of the night, which the hotel cannot control, but it did wake us up after a long day of travel.

Nice staff and location
first of all, there was problems with our room and management tried to put us in a room with one bed and a sofa (we booked two beds), then the ceiling in the bathroom fell on us while we were in it! super scary experience. finally, our key got stuck in the door when we came back and we slept with it sticking out - very unsafe feeling.

Lovely boutique hotel. Perfect location that was proximate to excellent bars and the sights but two blocks away from noise and hustle. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. Unbeknownst to us we were there during the annual Festival de la Calles which was amazing.

Location, location, location! The location of this hotel is excellent! Frequently when we walked all over Old Town San Juan - El Morro, the water front, etc, we realized we were still not very far from the hotel.

location is great walking distance to all popular bars, restaurants and landmarks.
our room had a roof leak, asked staff 3 times to come in and mop it up. I even mentioned it after they failed to do so the first 2 times I asked and I left for our final night out and still come back to a wet floor. I was slightly irritated that they ignored my request to clean the water from the floor in our room after asking 3 times.

This hotel was fantastic... Great people, great room, great roof bar with view and a great location in old San Juan. Would stay there again.
The check in time should be clearly stated. I know they are trying to be accomodating but maybe they are trying too hard. We were told 11 but we did not get in till 1:30. That is really okay but disappointing when you are told 11:00. Maybe they should just establish a time that works for them.

great location. Nice roof top bar with great view. Easy access to San Sebastián street were the night scene is the best.
Overall it was a good experience, however the room ceiling lights controls were not working or batteries were drained which made the rooms a bit dark. The TV controls didn’t work either, it didn’t matter much since we were not interested in watching TV but we couldn’t control the music channels. We suggest guests let the front desk know if these are issue at check in
