The view was fantastic from our room, and despite visiting over the holidays the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating!

The bathroom wasn't quite what we expected. Our room had half a used water in the fridge and only one mug, but otherwise a pleasant stay!

A nicely restored colonial house in the middle of Galle Fort.

Right in the middle of Galle fort, in a restored colonial house, friendly staff, spacious and quite clean room. Transport service.

No common area to relax in after hours. Being pitched jewellery over breakfast, albeit by very kind staff.

Centrally located stylish rustic guesthouse with wonderfully helpful and friendly staff

Simple but stylish rustic guesthouse located very centrally and conveniently, close to great cafes, shops and the historic fort walls. Zahima, the manager, was amazingly helpful. When one of the two friends I was travelling with got sick, she took her to the private doctor and ensured that she got everything she needed. Beyond that, she was also extremely responsive in responding to any request we had (at any hour of the day or night). Complementary water in the fridge was refilled daily.

We absolutely loved our stay, but here are a couple of improvement recommendations that might make the stay for your future guests even more enjoyable: 1) add a safety box / safe in the room - given the room doors are more decorative than break-in safe, travellers would feel safer having the option to lock up the valuables. although most of the time one of the staff is around the property, one night we came in and the front door was open (maybe one of the other guests forgot to lock it?) and we realised that there was nothing stopping someone just walking up to our room and breaking in (if they had bad intentions). 3) consider adding a toiletries shelf in the bathroom - there was nowhere to put any bottles / creams apart from the side of the sink & - even for one person - it can get a bit ‘crowded’ 3) Consider leaving an additional toilet roll (apart from the one in the toilet paper holder) - even if it’s not used, it would a welcome courtesy appreciated by your guests

Very Quaint and colourful place. Room very spacious and immaculately clean. Breakfast had a bigger variety of fruits than breakfasts we had. Staff very attentive to our needs and caring. Will definitely 💯 visit again.

Galle Fort is a beautiful city to explore. I can really recommend this place.

I was for a short 2 days visit in Galle Fort. Antic Guesthouse is a very beautiful and extravagant Guesthouse. I had the room upstairs under the roof, and I liked it very much. Super clean and enough space. The bathroom was simple but in a fashion, modern style, I really like that kind of minimalism. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good…. the fruit platter is fantastic. Second day I went on an half-day trip with Sampath the caretaker of the house and he is a wonderful and kind person who showed me around Galle. Sampath is also very helpful to help out whatever is needed.

Maybe a mosquito net would be good, even when it looks not so nice in the room.

Amazing views of the lighthouse and the ocean beyond.

We were roomed in a separate building right by the lighthouse. Perfect for the family with a balcony to watch the world go by.

The downstairs room of the off-site building were a bit messy

An enjoyable stay in a must visit historical location. I recommend Antic GuesthouseGalle

Antic is located within Galle Fort a key tourist attraction. The area is busy by day but relatively quiet by night. Antic is perfectly situated to explore the historic fort and there are plenty of places to eat nearby. Everyone at Antic is keen to help and they provided power adapters, some toiletries and bottled drinking water. Breakfast was included and was excellent with a choice of western or Sri Lankan food plus fruit. We choose Sri Lankan and enjoyed our breakfast curries enormously. Antic can provide tuk tuk transport both locally and distance. Internet connection was good The rooms are individual and quirky in a very good way Overall a very good choice and I would recommend it

During our stay there were a number of power cuts as part of the countrywide attempt to cope with the international fuel crisis resulting from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Antic provided a generator and emergency lighting to mitigate this. Nothing was too much trouble.

We had a great stay at Antic. The location inside Galle Fort is amazing, the hosts are really friendly and helpful. Rooms clean and nicely done with plenty of space, AC worked very well (when there was power - national outages not Antics fault at all!) provided lights for when the power was out. Breakfast very nice with lovey fresh fruit each day. Would recommend!

Only possible criticism is quite bright in the rooms in the morning as only thin curtain over window but this seems to be a theme throughout our stays in Sri Lanka

Decent clean place, very good location. Wouldn’t really recommend for families though as noisy and no generator.

We stayed in some kind of new property 200 metres around the corner from the main Antic building. The location close to the lighthouse is very good for accessing all of the fort locations. The place was clean, beds were comfortable and breakfast was good.

The building layout and location make it quite noisy at night. The room air conditioner was also quite noisy. It was quite hard to make the room dark because of internal windows and light from other parts of the building. I wasn’t completely comfortable with the main door to the property being chained up for security, as this is a risk in a fire. Galle like other places in Sri Lanka has power problems and we lost power for several hours a day during our stay. There are also water problems in town caused by the power situation.

Comfortable, big, colourful rooms, amazing location, the best breakfast!

Our room was big and decorated really nicely. The landing area with sofa and books to chill was really nice, and we could use the balcony, which looked directly out at the lighthouse. The location is really amazing! The fort walls are right on the doorstep. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, they made our stay really nice. And finally, the breakfast...wow!!! Sri Lankan breakfast included egg hoppers, string hoppers, roti, curries, pancakes and a huge fruit platter...it was delicious!

Stay here if in Galle

Property is in a really central location with amazing staff! Staff were great in arranging transfers for us, and also allowing us to use a spare room after we had checked out. The bed was comfortable, with the air con providing climate control in the stifling Sri Lankan heat. Good local breakfast with tasty curries.

Not a major issue but an additional hook in the bathroom would be useful.

Great location but not really your own villa

Staff very friendly and welcoming. They very clearly want to help you have a great time. Nice breakfast which was tailored to family requirements.

We stayed in the ‘villa’ but it wasn’t - it was two private rooms in a property away from their main site. I feel it was misrepresented in the description. Not sure about the other rooms but get the impression these rooms are slightly more dated and because of location don’t get the same level of servicing.

Great guesthouse

This was our first stop in sri lanka. Lovely place to stay, we had a gorgeous room on the top floor. Had an amazing sri lankan breakfast, highly recommended. Staff were super helpful and really friendly. Galle itself was very busy, there's some nice shops and lovely places to eat. We went to church street social for dinner and had a lovely curry. Overall great place to be

A very comfortable stay.

The hospitality was excellent. All staff very friendly, eager to help and make us very comfortable. Breakfast was good. The room with the balcony was great and the location of the property was excellent with lovely views of the lighthouse and sea.

It didn't bother us but having padlocks on the doors for security could be off putting for some people.

Pleasant

Lovely location, comfortable bed and pillows, breakfast was fantastic.... We were full until dinner time. And Sampath was fantastic.... Nothing was too much trouble. He basically ran the place himself, from greeting the guests, welcome drinks, showing the room, taking the luggage, cleaning, transporting the guests, cooking.... Everything was done by Sampath and done very well. 5* to Sampath

Having arrived at the location, being taken to a different place that was very dark, a man sleeping inside the hall way in the living area that turned out to be the brother of the owner. The very dangerous kettle ( immediately replaced by Sampath) The bathroom although large the wall tiles filled in, the water drain not complete. And the worst was the toilet seat. Although cleaned very stained and dirty.... We couldn't sit on it with ought covering it with a toilet seat cover.
