Just perfect all the way through

Luxurious with friendly and quick to help staff. Bathroom was just perfect and the beds definitely the most comfortable i’ve ever had abroad.

In toilet the window didn’t have glas, it was open and towards the yard, so not the nicest to use the toilet, when everybody could hear the noices…

Excellent location in the centre of Fort district with open area in front of the property. Less than 5 minutes walk to the ramparts. Very friendly and well trained staff. Comfortable room. Good Wi-Fi.

Very good hotel in a very convenient location.

The hotel was in a great location within walking distance to the city . The staff were very helpful & it was lovely to sit in the courtyard for our breakfast each morning. The room was comfortable & had everything that we needed.

The only thing which is a minor point is our room was opposite the court yard on the ground floor so you could hear them getting ready for breakfast but for us it wasn’t a problem as we wake up early.

Great location in a charming small hotel

We chose to stay within the 'Fort ' area and were glad we did. Yara Galle Fort is located towards the top of the hill area inside the fort and is a few street away from the main action or restaurants and shops. Nothing in the fort area is far away, and it is a short walk to get to the main area ( which is a great place to wander around - particularly at night).The hotel is small and set in a traditional style building - although given how fresh and new the building is, I am guessing it has been rebuilt in a 'traditional' style. The rooms are well set up with a comfortable bed ( great linen) and couch, and all open onto an internal balcony. While I thought this might be a bit noisy - it was quite the opposite. With no real noise from the outside, and only a few rooms, we found our room ( which was one of the first rooms on the balcony) very quiet. A decent breakfast with the normal fare on offer (traditional or western). If you are visiting the area, I would definitely recommend staying within the fort. It is one of the few places we visited in Sri Lanka that has an eating/ shopping precinct, and the limited amount of vehicular traffic is great.

Small gripe and a first world problem. The shower was typical of so many in Sri Lanka and the pressure and temp were quire variable.

Yara Galle Fort hotel is a perfect location to explore one of Sri Lanka's most significant towns.

The Yara Galle Fort hotel is a beautiful modestly scaled boutique courtyard hotel in the heart of the historic Fort district. The building has been sensitively upgraded with clean contemporary interior decor reflecting the towns historic Portuguese and Dutch heritage. Staff at the hotel attentive and provide a high degree of service. The rooms are well proportioned, clean and comfortable. We ate breakfast at the hotel which included eggs, sausages toast and fresh fruit and juice as well as tea or coffee. We will be pleased to recommend the Yara to friends in the future.

Fabulous location for a beautiful boutique hotel.

The location is excellent - on the edge of Galle Fort, close to the clocktower, just a short stroll from the shops and restaurants. The rooms are situated around a lovely central courtyard, and are beautifully finished. The staff are delightful and very helpful.

it was very beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the breakfast was amazing too.

breakfast finishes early, that’s my only comment. the hotel is otherwise perfect.

Great option for Galle

We received the warmest of welcomes upon arrival and were able to go to our room straight away when arriving at around 12pm. The room was lovely - dark due to the blinds outside being down because of the rain. Staff very friendly though out. Wonderful location.

Room a bit dark but perhaps mainly due to the weather. Didn’t have a beer to sell and said the nearest shop a kilometre away in the New Town.

A cosy stay with a Mediterranean vibe to enjoy history of Galle.

This was a very pleasant stay for us. The hotel’s colonial style premises boasts a lot of character embellished with a very Mediterranean interior. We found the hotel to be well-positioned within Galle Fort, giving us easy access to the fort itself, Pedlar’s Street and the museums. The staff are really warm and accommodating who are eager to cater to your needs. What was lovely to see was the eagerness of staff to feed the local squirrels and birds at breakfast. The rooms are quite spacious and kept clean. We had a slight issue with the ventilation in the bathroom (wasn’t a big problem at all to be honest); the concierge then went the extra mile to relocate us to a bigger room. Overall a really enjoyable experience to enjoy the beauty of Galle!

Nothing much to say in terms of dislikes. Only a few minor things that can be easily fixed, such as the bathrooms could all do with a mesh covering over the grill to avoid mosquitoes from coming in. It would also be good if guests are told about the choice of having an English breakfast or a traditional Sri Lankan breakfast (which we found to be more delicious).

Fabulous and memorable stay !!

Amazing property !! Very rustic and beautiful !! Staff was really friendly and excellent !! Rizvi the guy who was managing the property was so warm humble and friendly!! Very helpful guy !! Ernesta who was the front desk was also so honest polite and humble !! She was doing her job very efficiently and diligently !! Very kind staff !! I highly recommend this hotel which right in the heart of the galle fort area !!

friendly staff, clean and comfortable facility.

I wanted Sri Lankan breakfast previous night. the hotel serves breakfast from 7:30 to 10:30. I was traveling for work and I mentioned I would like to have breakfast 7:15. staff mentioned they may try. however, I went to the dining hall 7:30 and asked my breakfast. it arrived 7:45. so in case if you are in a schedule always event better remind them 15 min before. the place is nice and this is not that serious issue. I highly recommend YARA.

A beautiful boutique hotel inside the lovely Galle fort.

The hotel is amazing, the architecture and the interior design are stunning. The rooms were well equipped and beautifully presented. The staff were very courteous and friendly. You can not beat the location inside the beautiful Galle fort. The breakfast ( both western and Sri lankan) was very good.

A wonderful property that is very welcoming. The team were so lovely and made us feel at home, they were so accommodating and kind.

Beautiful big rooms. Great location to explore the city. And most of all very friendly staff. My sister had a health scare and the hotel manager didn’t leaver our side when going to emergency care etc. Would highly recommend to stay here when you want to explore Galle!
