Breakfast in Cilwen was as good as any we've had, first class top quality ingredients many home made. Adrian and Jeff brilliant kind and caring hosts. This was our third stay and we are planning to stay again soon. Cilwen is in the middle of beautiful country side and is peaceful and tranquil.
Nothing.

Beautiful house excellent owners and wonderful breakfast
The location is on remote narrow roads. The roadside sign at the gate to the house is not prominent enough. It needs to be better placed

Breakfast included traditional items. All very well made and presented. The homemade breads & jams were a treat. It was very quiet and our hosts went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The house is nicely decorated and our room and bath were spacious.
Having to leave.

It was amazing place to stay over and we stayed in pink room which is beautiful couple. Breakfast was all freshly made. Owner of the place is very helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone for weekend or long holidays as the view are amazing and place is very quiet away from busy city life.

Genuine welcome from very skilled hosts. They have painstakingly restored a massive stone farmhouse and made a warm and comfortable B&B. The same attention to detail comes through in the choice of eco-friendly toiletries, period furniture and the giant Christmas cactus in the breakfast room! An experienced chef is preparing your breakfast which is a doddle compared with his former life, so the pancakes, full breakfasts, home-made breads and jams are wonderful, Fruit bread as an option at breakfast was also home-made and excellent.
The location is just far enough out of Carmarthen to seem quiet and isolated, without actually being far away at all- a neat trick. Photos of Llansteffan Castle and Scott's Bay on the nearby coast.
The Guinea Fowl act as early warning of foxes etc for the laying hens, so you may hear them during the day sometimes.
We're scraping the barrel a bit here to find something to dislike.
We didn't find the time to go the excellent gin distillery in nearby Talog- Jin Talog

the house is beautifully renovated and tucked away high above Carmarthen - yet still easily accessible

a simple B and B in a farmhouse but we were looked after beautifully!

A somewhat unusual sort of house, but in a nice way. The gardens were really good, wish I had more time to check it all out. The Guinea fowl were great to see, I even got a good recording of one, it made a great sound just before I left for home, a parting gift. A Very friendly guy runs the place.
I can't think of anything I didn't like.

A superb stay. A stunning quiet and secluded location. The most beautiful refurbished room in a stone bricked house. Breakfast was out of this world. Adrian & Jeff were so welcoming and helpful.

Amazing atmosphere; as if you just stepped in a Jane Austen novel :) Beautiful garden, nicely decorated room and lovely breakfast area. We absolutely loved the surroundings! On top of that Adrian is a fantastic host.
The place is quite remote. We absolutely loved it but it may not be everyone’s preference. It would be useful to have shelves or some storage place in the bathroom as there is no place to put your belongings to.

The hosts were exceptional, thorough and friendly; the breakfast was superb, and they were very generous about the offerings; big room; house was nicely restored and well appointed; enjoyed the lovely property and chickens
There was very little... we heard a little bit of noise from downstairs, but only during daytime hours; it was a little hard to find the front door when we arrived. It was an exceptional stay and we would definitely stay there again.

Jeff and Adrian were wonderful hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. I loved the little touches such as fresh flowers in the room and on the breakfast table. The location is extremely rural with a lovely garden and views over the valley. It was peaceful and serene.
Just what we needed - a really comfortable stay in a rural location with easy access to the parts of South Wales that we wanted to explore.
Nothing.

truely beautiful location and huge room. The brass bed was wonderfully comfortable and the roll top bath under the velux window gave a magical bath by moonlight. Our hosts were friendly and could not do more for us,and as for Jeff’s homemade jams and breads for breakfast yummy is the only word. A peaceful retreat from the world provided by Adrian and Jeff and a stellar breakfast also means we will be returning to cilwen.
Not one thing.
