The building itself was spacious, and well equipped with everything you would need to cook etc.
Hot tub was a welcome relief after the rainy weather.
Beds and sofas were both comfy.
Bath was huge and the ensuite shower had plenty of pressure.
The holiday park sent out notification that you could use the hot tubs up until 00:10 for New Years Eve which was a nice consideration.
We had a last minute change of plans from the couple that stayed with us and the holiday park was very helpful in amending it so that they could stay some of the nights with us.
Overall very cosy, great way to relax for the new year.
Reception was a bit hit and miss, we arrived at around 17:00 to locked gates, which is fine but we weren't given instructions on how to enter. I used the machine next to the gate to call the reception and they buzzed us in, I then asked for directions to our lodge to which I seemed to get some sort of exasperated response before being hung up on. At this point we ended up crawling the car around the park trying to figure out which one was ours as I walked in the rain to see the lodge numbers in little light there was.
Due to rain the entirety of the decking was incredibly slippy, which we promptly found out when my partner exited the living room, slipped and fell; there was a sign outside warning of this however it's to the the side of the building and she had already fell before we had a chance to even notice it. It also didn't help that the side light didn't work and was not illuminating the area with the sign and I had to use my torch to read what it said.
We noticed damp spots below the ensuite radiator the first night we stayed, initially I thought we'd either dragged in the rain or maybe splashed water from the shower somehow - but the following day I realised we'd lost the hot water as the boiler had lost pressure which was causing the radiator the leak.
I called reception to report the issue as the boiler had signage to advise you to not adjust the boiler, now fair play they did send someone over quite quickly but the person they sent didn’t instill much confidence as they said they were "just a housecleaner" and "confused they were sending them over rather than a professional" but again fair play they managed to sort the issue promptly and we had heating the rest of the stay.
The weather was pretty poor throughout our stay, it would have been nice if there was some sort of shelter to put over the hot tub but we ended up only using it a couple of times when weather permitted it.

Great location for what we needed and hot tub was a lovely extra!

The accommodation was very well appointed, with lovely facilities. The kids settled in immediately and it gave us a lovely base location to explore other parts of the South Downs/south coast. Well recommended.
The wifi didn't work very well - minor gripe!

4.3
The lodge was really nice and comfortable; the hot tub and bath really made it exceptional.
The location isn’t accessible without a car which could be frustrating and the best shops are a drive away but otherwise it was lovely!
4.3
The cottage was very clean on arrival. The kitchen equipment was of good quality, which is unusual for holiday lets. The bathroom was clean and the shower was very powerful. The park is also very quiet.
The bed either had a very old or very cheap mattress, it was incredibly thin and uncomfortable. The bedroom had a velux window with no blind, the window is directly above the bed so if you want a lie in, hope it's rainy and dark, although handy for making sure you hit the 10am checkout time.
Rules, everywhere rules! All of them easy to stick to but receiving an email ahead of your stay with a list, in red, of what you cannot do does not give you a welcoming feeling. I don't know if these rules reflect the clientele or the owners, but as we barely saw another person, let alone heard one, despite being full, you would have to draw the conclusion that it is the latter.
The hot tub, which had a different set of (amusingly misspelt) rules, was hot. And when I say hot, it was like getting into a bath, though it did mean that you had to adhere to the 15min rule in the hot tub as it was physically impossible to stay in longer. Turning it down by 5° would save them a fortune on the heating bill!
The entry key pad could do with replacing, not only is it temperamental but instructing people to press "enter" after they input the number is all well and good but if you can't read anything on the keypad to see the word enter, somewhat futile. On exiting you need to trigger the sensor, which is helpfully positioned too close to the gate meaning you have to reverse after triggering it in order to not have your number plate removed.
The only time we spoke to a member of staff was ahead of our stay when they rang to take a £150 security deposit, we found it strange that you are not directed to check in at reception or that reception do not check in on you. I'm not sure if this was born out of covid or if it's always been so hands off!
