I had noticed la chiponga when I arrived on ometepe and was exploring on my scooter .It looked beautiful. very creative and artisic from the camino. I was already booked in somewhere else for 3 days. The place I was in was nice, but very inaccesable due to a long dangerous driveway to the hotel. Sometimes they dont show you those things on their booking site,.
The property is gorgeous. Several sculptures and a beautiful watrerfall feature. They had almost completed a bar in the same crative theme right on the lake, I had my own bungalow with a bath and kitchen. Goreous view of the lake . Easy access to several excelllent restaurants.
The staff were really helpful and freindly. They arranged a hike of the volcano and atually took my boots to a Zapataceria to be professionally fixed They directed me to the waterfalls as I wanted to do this myself They gave me great tips and ideas for things to do on the island
A Nica rodeo, an awesomome hands on tour of Imoerial miel. A business in Atagracia where i participated in beekeeping and honey production. Would highly recomend.
Didnt find any mention of these activities online or thru any other tour companies.
Each morning I woke up to inquisitve monkeys poking their head thru my open door (totally safe) and parrots landing on my wall First thing I heard was the sound of the waves on the beach and after I opened my curtains and door an incredible
mirador.
I would recomend renting a motorcycle or scooter while on the island as it is generally very affordable and the best way to see everthing as well as really just a blast. Word of warning Stay away fom Dinartes scooter rental in Moyogalpe. I should have read their reviews. Thre are loads of very ethical angencies whowill not shmooze you and give you subpar machines.
With their help I was able to replace my scooter and replace it with a much better one .
I wishI had known about La chipongga in the first place. I would have had more time to stay and chill. as it is I extended my stay as long as I could

Amazing place to disconnect and be immersed in the middle of nature front lake, be waken up by noisy monkeys and birds and buy food from local seller to cook in the shared kitchen was just what we wanted. perfect position in the middle of the two volcanos. nice outside space, you can rent a motorcycle near by and go around the all island as we did. walk distance to ojo de agua and the river.
don’t expect a hotel kitchen, is not the cleanest that I have seen but has everything you need.

Cheap option, Well located, good outdoors.
Very very dirty kitchen with dead Insects everywhere.

We had a really great stay. The location is perfect, very close to the beach, several restaurants and only a short walk to the natural pools. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and you got to see monkeys every morning. Rooms were spacious (we were upgraded to another bigger room without extra costs) and have more than enough beds inside ;) The whole design of the place is nice, and the jungle in the backyard is beatiful. Would recommend and come back here.

The host Hector is the best! He is super helpful and keen to arrange anything the guest needs. The rooms are very basic, but clean and we didn’t have any issues with bugs although it is surrounded by nature. Beds are pretty comfy and the fans help to keep a nice temperature. But the absolute bonus is: the monkeys! they are everywhere, on the trees, on the roof, running around. They are super cute!
There is no toilet seat. The hangout areas are not that nice, there are some random chairs and tables, but not too inviting to chill there.

many recycled items, cheap
-the kitchen was not really usable
- no common area to meet people

Close to the nice beaches, authentic flair, monkeys coming to the lodge, helpful staff. Good value for the price! Enjoyed the stay there.
Kitchen is not the cleanest. Some rooms are a little moldy.

Staff were very accommodating and friendly. The location is the best to explore the island, in my opinion. Several local eateries are within walking distance. Can help organise bike rental etc
I didn't have high expectations given the low price, but unfortunately I can't tell that even those expectations were met. I'm ok with shabby facilities, as long as they are clean - but that wasn't the case, unfortunately. I think the staff should put more effort into cleaning the room properly, keeping the linen fresh etc. All in all, I still think that it's an ok option to stay (perhaps some rooms are taken care of better than mine), but next time I'd be willing to pay more for a more neat place

Good location, beautiful area, had a couple little markets close by, very close to the beach, friendly staff
The monkeys run across the roofs every morning at 6am and wake you up, no mirror or toilet seat in the bathroom, the shared kitchen often didn't have enough cutlery or cooking utensils and touching the pots and pans would cover you in black soot

the staff and owner were exceptional - they dealt with every little question and issue. Hector was fabulous, he helped us get a ferry back at a crazy early time and was super kind and attentive. you could not ask for more. the location wa great and the animals were amazing. we wished we could have stayed longer for that!

What made me book this hostel was the monkeys and we got to meet them 😁. Nice staff, simple bedroom(better than the pictures), little beach 1 minute wailing, nice kitchen

Close to the beach and some reasturants, great view of the lake and sunshine.
Looots of monkeys all around!!!
Monkeys are friendly, not aggressive, and you can also feed them with soma bananas ( only banannas please! Do not harm them with toxic food like sugary things).
Looots of birds, iguanas and animals. We loved that!!
Nothing particular
