An "Oasis" of calm and privacy, so close to the ocean, with great access to Shoreline Park and the sand. Private yard and views on a quiet street... yet steps from the Ocean and Shoreline Park!
Great 3 Bedroom 1 Bath beach house in peaceful local neighborhood in convenient location adjacent to the Harbor, breakwater, wharf and funk zone. The house is only 100 steps to Shoreline Park, with easy access via wooden stairs to a great often secluded beach. There is a play area in the park for Kids! Walk, ride or drive a mile to the SB Harbor & the scenic Breakwater. Just a little further down the coastline is Stearn's Wharf, lower State Street and the popular "Funk Zone" area. The Funk Zone is now home to over 10 restaurants, brew houses, a bakery, fish market, over 15 winery tasting rooms and shopping.
Shoreline Park is 2 houses away - a local gem along a half mile strip of oceanfront land, made into a park in the 50's. It is so popular due to the easy walking along the ocean, a great updated kids play area, acres of grass, beach access, and even surfing at Leadbetter Point.
Ocean and island views from the kitchen, living rooms and one of the bedrooms, with a large south facing deck looking out on the ocean & islands beyond. Deck has seating for 6 and a seating area. Remodeled Kitchen, including most staples for your use, along with a dual fuel range and all of the tools to cook at home. Walk in glass shower in bath. 3 bedrooms - the Master, with a King-sized bed and slider door to the garden, the Ocean View room with a Queen size bed and the 3rd bedroom or office with a Single beds and a door to the tropical garden. There is a private deck in backyard with patio table and chairs accessible from Master bedroom and Office. There are 3 mature fruit trees - lime, lemon and tangelo available for your use, depending on the time of year!
Ocean Palms Oasis is less than 1/2 mile to Mesa shopping, the ever- popular Lazy Acres market ( boutique market with too many choices and prepared food) a CVS & coffee shops. The house is also close to many local restaurants, on the Mesa - the Rose Cafe, Mesa Burger, Ichiban Sushi, Alcazar Tapas Bar, Mesa Verde vegetarian, Corner Tap Brew House, Mesa Thai and at the Harbor and Stearn's Wharf area....including Tomas, Brophy Brothers, The Breakwater, Harbor Restaurant, Santa Barbara Shellfish, the Lucky Penny, the Lark, and many more options . All are walk-able, if you are so inclined...

We stayed at this fantastic bungalow for 2 weeks this summer and had an amazing time. The place was exceptionally clean at check-in and Bryan even left some treats from the local store making us feel right at home! The kitchen was the best stocked of any rental I’ve stayed in which was great. The location is unbeatable if you’re looking for a peaceful stay in a nice neighborhood close to the ocean.
Our child was thrilled there was a playground at the park just a block away and we loved our morning and evening walks along the ocean cliff path.
The back deck also has views of the ocean (I missed this in the description) which was a wonderful surprise for us!
The yard is beautiful and my child loved being able to pick fresh lemons from the tree.
Bryan was an incredible host, was very easy to communicate with and even gave us some tips on fun local events happening while we were there.
We are already thinking about how we can go back for even longer next summer!

Terrific stay with the family. Wonderful spot. Easy walk to Shoreline Park for access to beach and watching the sailing races! Enjoyed the fruit trees too! Thanks so much.

This was by far our best rental experience. This is a special place, with an amazing location. It is a beautiful property, especially the amazing yard and garden. We enjoyed relaxing and having meals outside, with plenty of privacy and space in the back yard. The neighborhood is peaceful and locals were all very friendly. We were instantly immersed in Santa Barbara the culture and environment.
Bryan is an extremely gracious and helpful host, offering help and advice from before we booked the property until after we had left. Communication was responsive and thorough, and all the recommendations were spot-on. He went far out of his way to ensure we had a spectacular time.
The house is spotless and very well appointed. There were plenty of amenities and we found it easy to prepare meals. Beds were comfy and all towels and linens were fresh and clean.
As described, it is a very short walk to the park and ocean. We found it a great home base for our adventures. It felt very much like a home, rather than a sterile rental house.
If we find ourselves in the area again, this would be my first pick for a place to stay. 5+ Stars!

Did not want to leave this super comfy beach cottage with its sunny light-filled interior and fantastic outdoor space in an unbeatable location steps from Shoreline Park and endless beach walking at low-tide.
House is compact, well laid out and squeaky clean: Open kitchen, dining, living area plus a primary bedroom and second bedroom separated by a third bedroom/office. Office with desk, chair, printer and fast wifi, great for working remotely. Bathroom is small but bright and modern with a marble glass-walled shower. High quality linens, excellent closet space and comfortable beds.
What sets this rental apart is its lovely outdoor space: A corner lot lends itself to multiple sitting/dining areas (partial ocean view!!!) and a serene drought-tolerant California garden with lemon, lime and tangerine trees, all reachable from the kitchen, primary bedroom and third bedroom/office.
Kitchen has everything you need and more (even a smoothie machine!). Buy groceries at Lazy Acres or downtown Santa Barbara Saturday AM or Tuesday PM farmer’s markets, cook dinner and watch the sunset from the deck. If cooking is not your thing then order delivery via Grubhub etc. or take a short drive to your choice of restaurants.
Bryan is an excellent and responsive host, providing wine, treats and invaluable area recommendations throughout our stay. Highly recommend this rental.

We really enjoyed our stay at Bryan's house, which is well appointed with beautiful gardens. It is well located a block from Shoreline Park with incredible peekaboo views to the water. We enjoyed morning walks to the harbor and Stearns Wharf. Bryan was very helpful and attentive and made our stay easy.

My wife and I plus our 16th-month-old twins thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bryan's beach cottage on the Mesa. Bryan has the cottage fully dialed in with an OLED TV, Sonos speakers, and beautiful views.
The highlight of the property is definitely the deck off the kitchen with gorgeous views and entertaining space. We spent most evenings dining al fresco since the weather was absolutely perfect during our stay.
The location can't be beaten, you can walk a mile toward the wharf along Shoreline Park or a mile in the other direction to great restaurants, shops, and La Mesa Park. The kids loved the new tot park which is literally across the street from the property.
We're already planning another trip in the future so we can take the little ones surfing at Leadbetter Beach. Thanks, Bryan for sharing your slice of paradise.

Superb Accommodation
This is a great place! The location is ideal, close to the a lovely park, the ocean and downtown Santa Barbara (all walkable) - located on a lovely street in a pleasant neighborhood. Although it is called a bungalow, there was plenty of room for our family to "stretch out" in the various rooms and two outdoor deck/patio areas. The garden was great - with lemon and orange trees, banana trees (I know, not really a tree) and lovely landscaping everywhere. Perhaps most important, BRYAN IS A GREAT HOST. He has given great attention to detail of everything inside and outside of the house - which we really appreciated. The house was supplied with all the incidentals that we could need for a week (even left us some great coffee and fresh bread upon arrival). We will definitely look to stay again next year. Thanks, Bryan!

Perfect Rental
Bryan’s house is amazing! It’s beautiful and well maintained. The yard is a work of art, and much more enchanting than the photos show. The fact that it’s all draught resistant made it even more impressive. We enjoyed morning yoga on the beautiful deck with a view of the ocean, and wine and cheese on the same deck in the afternoon. The outdoor furniture was clean and comfortable.
I really appreciated that the house was very well stocked down to a first aid kit. Coffee, spices, sugar, and oil; all provided but appropriately curated. Baby oil for tar removal was provided, as well as a beautiful washer and dryer with all the supplies. Paper products were provided as well as body wash, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, and plenty of towels. We ended each night with a movie on the large screen tv. Every detail has been considered.
The location was perfect! Walking distance with a nice path to the harbor, down the steps from the park to the beach, and Shoreline park is beautiful for walking or sitting to view marine life. We saw a variety of dolphin pods sitting on the whale tail bench using the binoculars provided in the home.
The neighborhood was quiet and friendly, easily accessible from a variety of directions. A quick drive to downtown Santa Barbara and my favorite ice cream at McConnell’s.
Communication was clear and easy.
Hope we can return many times in the future!

My husband, two sons (ages 10 & 13) and I traveled to Santa Barbara for a week in April. The 3 bedroom 1 bath house was perfect for us. Ocean views from the kitchen, bedroom and deck. Lovely quiet neighborhood one block from shoreline park. Went walking, running there every day. 10 minute walk to shoreline beach; 15 minute walk to lead better beach. Weather was a little cooler than normal but great jeans and t shirt weather. The boys explored and threw rocks on the beach.
Location was perfect. I was worried it would be too far from town but it was only a 5 minute drive to lower state street and sterns wharf. 10 minutes to upper end of state street or the mission. We loved the quiet beautiful neighborhood with the mountains and ocean nearby. Staying downtown would have been closer for lunch and dinner but too noisy and crowded at night for our family. We had relaxing mornings hanging out at the house and then headed to downtown or out on day trips - Ojai, wine country, Santa Barbara food tour, etc.
Bryan’s bungalow was very clean, well stocked (towels, tissues, aluminum foil, pots, pans, condiments, wine openers, etc.). It was so organized and had lots of space to store our clothes and luggage. Beds were very comfortable. Our 10 year old enjoyed sleeping in the fold out chair in the study.
Such a gem - both the city and the house!

My family and I greatly enjoyed our 2 week stay. The proximity to shoreline park and to the beach made our vacation very memorable. Great Home in a Great Location
This home could not be in a better location for SB. It is across from Shoreline Park, has views of the water and palm trees on a raised deck, and Bryan is an amazing host. If this place is available and two bedroom one bathroom works for your group - look no further! We will certainly return for a longer stay! Thank you Bryan!

Spectacular beach getaway!
My wife and I just spent a wonderful week in Santa Barbara at Bryan's amazing cottage. We could see the ocean from the deck! This is really the best neighborhood in Santa Barbara: quiet and private. We went for long walks at the beach, whale watching and just kicked back and relaxed. What more could you ask? Bryan is a fantastic host. He made sure that we had everything that we needed. I rate this the top rental that we have ever booked. I HIGHLY recommend Bryan's Ocean Palm Bungalow!!

We came to Santa Barbara to see Dr. Gunson for jaw surgery at Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital. This was the perfect place to convalesce.
The house is a lovely bungalow. We were especially grateful for the large, well-equipped kitchen and outdoor grill.
We enjoyed the beautiful backyard gardens and walks through the quiet neighborhoods surrounding the home. A wonderful bonus is the home's close proximity to the water.
Bryan is a welcoming and very communicative host.

We have been coming to Santa Barbara every year for the past 9 years and have stayed all around. The Mesa area is by far our favorite area and this property is now top of the list, located steps away from Shoreline Park and a walk down the stairs to the beach. A quick drive to get to gourmet grocery stores, incredible restaurants, tasting rooms, breweries, museums and the zoo. To name a few.
The home itself is well kept with comfortable beds and a well appointed kitchen for those that enjoy cooking like we do. The view of the ocean from the kitchen, patio and front of the house can’t be captured in the pictures but exceeded our expectations. It was so nice to be as close as we were to the ocean.
The property owner is kind, attentive and available to help with any questions you may have. Very easy to communicate with. Can’t wait to come back!!

A Delightful Month at Ocean Palm Bungalow
For the month of March 2019, my family and I rented Ocean Palm Bungalow. Our stay was a dream. The bungalow was warm, well-appointed, it was a delight for the eye, and it's located in a choice Santa Barbara neighborhood. Our 3-year old loved exploring the bungalow's lush garden of succulents, fruit trees and flowers. When more exploring was desired, we took the kids to the playground located just a short walk away at the Santa Barbara Shoreline Park. For longer walks, we would stroll to Stern's Wharf and a meal.
Bryan, the owner of the bungalow, was gracious and ready to help if anything needed attention. If ever i have the opportunity to vacation in Santa Barbara again, I will look up Bryan's bungalow to see if it's available.

Wonderful home, great location.
Bryan's house was perfect. Immaculately clean, comfortable beds, well-equiped kitchen. We truly couldn't have asked for more. I think the pictures don't really do it justice!
Although the location was an easy walk to the ocean, pier, wharf and State Street, it is in a quiet neighborhood away from the touristy part of town.
House has lovely gardens and great outdoor spaces. We spent lots of time on the deck off the kitchen.
If we return to Santa Barbara we'd definitely stay at Oceans Palm Bungalow again.
Thanks Bryan for sharing your wonderful home.

Luxurious near the beach
Had a very nice stay here. Bathroom and kitchen are remodeled and well stocked. Nicely decorated outside patio, with BBQ. More seating on the other side of the home, with doors opening to the bedrooms. Two sunbeds to enjoy. Mature garden with drought tolerant native plants. The home is very close to a park with a nice playground for kids. A 5 minute walk brings you to stairs down to the beach. Quiet beach, mostly locals doing exercise and walking dogs. Our kids loved to play here. A deli supermarket is a 5 minute drive, with lots of local and home made products to enjoy. It's a 20 minute walk to the pier. Downtown Santa Barbara is energetic with nightlife, nice restaurants and shopping. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, recommended!

Perfect
Stayed for four days for our son's graduation, and had a great time. The house is well furnished and the kitchen is fully equipped. The backyard is beautiful and you can see the ocean from the kitchen deck. It was very peaceful and quiet at night. Easy access to the beach, and from there a beautiful walk (during low tide) either south (to State Street) or north. Bryan was very accommodating, and we hope to come back again.

Great spot in SB!
Second stay for my family at this property. Bryan, the host, was very responsive, helpful, and accommodating. The property is ideally located on the Mesa of Santa Barbara across from Shoreline Park. It is about a 10 to 15 minute beautiful walk along the shoreline to downtown SB. We did this daily since the weather is always perfect in SB. It's a great place to stay for access to wineries. There are over 20 tasting rooms available in SB itself, with the ones in the Funk Zone the most fun. We like to walk there around 3:00 and visit a few, then grab take-out from one of the restaurants in the area (The Lucky Penny was great!), and then eat it back at the house overlooking the Ocean. Los Olivos and Santa Ynez are within a 40 minute drive which offer many, many more wineries. We never made it to the Lompoc wine ghetto, but it is probably about an hour away. The house is nicely sized, clean, comfortable, and has amazing outdoor space and gardens (with views of the park and ocean) for relaxing with coffee in the morning and wine in the afternoon. We love how the park is full of exercisers in the late afternoon, the people-watching never disappoints. There is also a good vantage point at the east end of the park atop a cliff for watching the surfers below. About 5 minutes to Lazy Acres Market (a gourmet Whole Foods style supermarket) and a regular chain supermarket. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful and the neighbors are friendly. The garden in the back of the house is full of hummingbirds in the morning. My one word conclusive review or this property: Perfect!

Surf's up in SB
We stayed at Bryan's Beach Bungalow for a glorious week. The place was clean when we checked in. The house itself is very nice and comfortable. The kitchen is plush. We loved cooking for our friends who came to visit us. Bryan is a super accommodating and responsive host. Our visit was planned to celebrate a birthday party and visit the beach. Our family of three was perfectly happy with the set up. Best thing is the closeness to the beach. Bring your bikes and ride the strand. Ride to State Street and eat and drink like royalty. If you wanna surf, Leadbetter Beach is a perfect beginner wave, and my daughter caught her first stand-up waves ever. Good times. Can't wait to get back to Santa Barbara. Thanks Bryan.

Sunrise to Sunset Perfection!
We had 4 glorious days and nights in a primo area in Santa Barbara. The Mesa neighborhood is quiet, residential yet Bryan's home is half a block from Shoreline Park (a lovely strip of grassy park on a cliff) and the beach (just go down the awesome steps! Bryan helped us by answering all of our questions - very helpful. We loved that the sunrise entered the master bedroom each morning and helped us wake up to another day of fun in the sun. Biking or walking to State Street for shopping, strolling, eating at Opal and checking out the Public Market, and people watching, the harbor for boat rentals (take the sunset cruise on the Double Dolphin) and Brophy's great seafood, the wharf and the Shellfish Company, the Funk Zone for wine tasting and Larks. Then a sweet walk or ride home to watch the sun set from Shoreline Park. The neighbors and families at the park are very nice and relaxed. We saw dolphins, seal lions and even a few whales right off shore!
At home, we loved making meals in the open kitchen and eating on the deck right off of the kitchen. Seems you are surrounded by palm trees! We really enjoyed our time and would love to come back. Thanks, Bryan.
