Great stay in Santa Barbara.

We loved our stay at papa dux. They have done an excellent job with the decor, amenities and charm. You can’t beat the location to downtown, Funk Zone and even the beach is walkable or you can borrow one of the bikes. It was quiet at night too.

The Dux is has a fun, eclectic vibe. The apartment is very conveniently located..restaurants, bakeries and cafes all within walking distance. Papa Dux has a cozy outdoor space with a fire pit which we made good use of. The kitchen was well equipped and the communication with the property manager was easy.

Papa Dux was clean and more charming than I thought it would be. The location was great for walking downtown and to the beach. Keep in mind, this is a downtown location so expect car/motorcycle noise. Debbie the Concierge was great. We had a wonderful stay!

Really enjoyed this place. It was perfect for three — my sister and her husband in the bedroom and myself in the comfortable sofa bed. Well stocked kitchen and very nice balcony. Would definitely stay again. The location was great. Close to the Funk Zone, State Street, the Presidio area and the beach.

Great property, good location. Bikes need some work (seats and locks), but other than that everything was great. Good communication and easy check in.

Beautiful weekend
We loved our stay at Papa Dux. My sister, friend and I met in Santa Barbara for a concert at the Lobrero theater. I chose this property for the location- and it was perfect! We were able to walk to the funk zone and also downtown for the concert. It was the perfect place for us for our girls weekend- just wish we could have stayed longer. Santa Barbara is always such a wonderful place to visit and I will definitely keep this property in mind for my next visit. It had a lot of character with fun, colorful decor. Loved it!

Beautiful all around
With only a 10min walk from the beach, this place was exactly what we were looking for. I will mention that the downstairs renters were disturbed by us being in our balcony at some point which was weird. Also unfortunately the communication between the Renter and their cleaning person could’ve been better. We accidentally left food in the fridge (totally our fault!) but instead of calling the cleaning person to get a response, we wasted an hour going back to find out they already threw it away. Completely understandable, we just would’ve appreciated having a clear line of communication between the renter and the cleaning person. Just wanted to mention that so perhaps the renters future patrons don’t have to experience the same occurrence. At the end of the day I absolutely recommend the place based on how beautiful it was and the location wasn’t inconvenient which is important. Thank you for our stay!

Delightful property
From booking to checkout, our experience with Papa Dux was excellent. I was a little concerned that the listing said it has a half-bath and checked before going with the property manager, Laura to confirm there is indeed a nice shower. The house and property are charming and well-maintained, with a pleasing blend of clean and eclectic furnishings. We parked our car on site and walked everywhere. Great location. Looking forward to returning soon.

Entirely late doing this review but just had to come and write one. Absolutely beautiful property. I felt like I was on vacation instead of a work trip - living room comfortable with a faux fireplace, comfy round loveseat, and pillows galore. French doors into the deck a nice touch. Great communication - had an issue at one point with an appliance (user error) and they responded within minutes to trouble-shoot. Will definitely stay here again on my next work visit!

Wonderful winter respite
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Papa Dux. We were able to enjoy daily walks on the beach, local shops, restaurants and coffee shops within easy walking distance. While The 3 Dux is a charming, older home it is well maintained. Laura, the host, was welcoming and very responsive to our needs. Would love to return next year!

Perfect getaway
My daughter and I wanted a safe and convenient little get away during COVID and this beautiful apartment was just the ticket! Perfectly located (near the Natural Cafe on State Street). We used the beach cruisers (provided), enjoyed breakfast and the view from the sweet little deck and the fire pit at night. Nicely furnished and comfortable bedding. Easy walking distance to State Street, the Beach and The Fun Zone. Just great! Thank you for everything Laura!

location, location, location
My wife and I rented "Papa Dux" for a visit primarily centered around the SB Film Festival. The property was exactly as shown, well-stocked, and clean, and as others have all said, the property manager couldn't have been more responsive. It was very easy to refer to the apartment as "our house".
But what really stood out to us about Papa Dux was the location. A short walk to both the beach and to the several movie venues on or off State Street, meant that we could leave our car parked on-site for almost the entire time we were there. Everything was right there in our neighborhood!!
We do not hesitate in recommending Papa Dux to others and we'll definitely look to stay there again on our next visit to Santa Barbara

Great Location in Santa Barbara
We really liked the location of "Papa Dux." Walking access to most of the best attractions in Santa Barbara. The unit has every convenience one could ask for-especially a long stay of 30 days or more. Inga was very responsive to our concerns/questions.
We highly recommend this property to all but the handicapped.

Just right for our family of 4 for the weekend.
We had a wedding to attend and enjoyed this property's location, setting, and amenities. Walking distance to our favorite State Street restaurants, shops, and beach. Forgot to pack some stuff, but had REI and Smart and Final within walking distance to get us thru the weekend and wedding.

Great apartment, great location !
Communications with the property owner were terrific, as were the instructions they sent us. Checking was easy and the apartment was exactly as shown online, kitchen well outfitted and we appreciated the coffee maker and coffee supplies. We had a great time in Downtown Santa Barbara and would definitely stay here again. Thank you

Short and Sweet
My hubby and I stayed only one night, I wish we could have stayed longer to take advantage of the entire place. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need (minus the food), the bedroom is cozy and comfortable, we loved the patio and the fire pit! We stayed in, had some wine, and enjoyed the evening.
Everything has clear instructions, so there’s no way to mess things up.
Unfortunately during our stay the dishwasher was broken and the t.v. In the living room didn’t work properly. Laura (manager) offered to come by to fix but we decided not to and use the t.v. In the room instead. There was a power outage that night (the entire block went out) so the water heater had to be reset, and Laura and her husband took care of this right away too! Thank you!
Before you leave you have to load the wash, pull the sheets from the bed, and throw away the trash, things I feel should be taken care of by cleaning crew...but I did it anyway because I enjoyed my stay and wish to come back!

Felt right at home. We walked to the beach, shops, restaurants, even the 24 hr fitness to work out. Tons of wine tasting rooms easily within walking distance. Did not have to use our car or Uber. Will definitely be back!
