Gode senger, trivelige ansatte.
Bråk fra gangen tidlig om morgenen av håndtverkere. Dårlig utvalg på frokost. Frokost ble ikke inkludert i bestilling da jeg ikke fikk valg om dette.

the location is great
housekeeping was very poor, had to ask them to vacuum carpets which had dirt from previous guests. Also breakfast could have been much better. Restaurant and room service food too finicky no simple food.

location, modern, friendly staff.
1) House keeping was subpar, maybe not enough staff to clean a two bedroom hotel apartment or underpaid staff?
2) very limited room service menu,l.
3) 16 euro cocktail at rooftop.
4) no towels at pool, and rooftop staff giving excuses that its a hassle to get towels, we got them at the end, if pool is open towels must be readily available.
5) price for value.

the location, breakfast and hi-end vegetarian Resturant
during check in the staff at the reception and their manager promised us that we can stay an extra night and also approved that we will change it to a family suite when my husband join for that night for extra 200£ but two days after they changed their mind and told us it another 600£ on top of the high rate we already paid. So they made us look for another hotel for that night and spend our vacation time on searching a hotel while the city had a very busy conference and everything was full. Very disappointing and highly unprofessional. although I liked the hotel I won’t go back there.

Rooms, Breakfast, location, Restaurant Staff
Either they have bad processes or the staff is poorly trainned. Almanac has the potential to be a great hotel. Today is a very good one
They were nice but drop the ball many times
1. It took almost 40 minutes to find the reservation and therefore the check in. They offered me breakfast for the whole stay but I am unsure if it was included in the tariff
2. I asked, in advance to my arrival, recommendations for restaurants open on Dec 25. They gave me 3 names. All of them were closed
3. I asked for a meeting point in Montjuic and they send me to a very confusing place with no access
4. At the check out, I asked to have my bill ready. They did not
5. I asked them their opinion on 4 restaurants. I provided the names. They answer they were very good. 2 of them were not
6. I asked 2 pillow, they brought me one
7. I have to call twice to get a kettle
8. One day I called reception several times in one hour and it was always busy.
Some of the issues are minor others not so much (40 minutes check up after a 20 hours trip is not great)
In summary, To deserve a premium price, they have a lot to improve. Nothing of what I said is very difficult to do

I had a wonderful experience at Almanac Hotel. Every staff member I encountered, from the check-in to the housekeeping, were delightful and eager to help! It's a true sample of excellent hospitality. The property is extremely clean and has a fantastic old-time charm.
I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting downtown Barcelona.

Beautiful hotel! The bed & pillows were heavenly. The balcony looked over a very noisy street, but the soundproofing was impressive once the door was shut. The shower was divine. The service & the breakfast were really great as well. The area is great for shopping & a block from Placa de Catalunya, from there La Rambla. Walking distance from other neighborhoods with a little more flavor.

Good location, friendly staff (for the most part)
I have no idea how this hotel has such a high rating on booking. For starter, the hotel doesn't look modern or new at all. The moquette in the corridors looks old and worn out, I noticed several places with missing painting or worn out walls. The "gym" is not a gym but some fitness equipment crammed together in a 10 mq space, plus the room has a weird shape so there is barely space for one person to stretch or use the benches. The rooftop is quite disappointing; I arrived and they made me wait 20+ minutes just to sit, there was plenty of space but everyone was just busy doing other things tho they clearly saw me waiting - word of advice, it takes 2 minutes to let a person in and help choose a seat, give priority to it rather than letting people wait for no reason. The view really is nothing special and is mostly obstructed by excessively high fences and plants. The pool is not a pool, it's maybe 50 cm deep. They brought some chips that were clearly not fresh. The room was alright, but not what you would expect for the steep price; the domotic is old, the panel to control the room amenities on one of the sides of the bed was not working, the tablet is so slow you can barely scroll. The closet doors were old and not closing properly. The curtains were not completely blacking out the room and light was annoyingly passing in. The hotel doesn't have a real lobby, just a couple of sofas were it's not really possible to hang out to work for example. I rarely leave bad reviews and all of these I would of course overlook for 150-200€/night. But for the steep price of 1200€ for two nights, I expect perfection. We are not even close unfortunately.

Location was fantastic - close to the metro and shopping but still quiet and not noisy
Housekeeping forgot to clean the room one if the 4 days that we were there - seemed like there was a communication issue because the front desk was surprised when we told them
