About this cottage rental

A cozy cottage located on Great Bay of Damariscotta Lake, was renovated and remodeled in 2013. The charming 1 bedroom retreat has a queen- size mattress and is the perfect getaway with a dock, 2 kayaks, and a canoe waiting to be used as well as a boat launch right on the property. The living room has a full-size sleeper sofa and the kitchen is in the shared open space. There is WI-FI, a Roku TV, a Blu-Ray player and a heat pump unit which provides heating and air- conditioning. I provide all linens, towels, paper products and a complete kitchen with all utensils, ice and basic condiments. The lake is the largest in Lincoln County and is well known for great fishing, boating and swimming. Located in mid-coast Maine close to the towns of Damariscotta, Rockland and Boothbay. Sorry, no pets.

This is our eighth year staying at the cottage. We always love staying here and visiting with Mark and Holly. As usual they went above and beyond to ensure a great time. When leaving I asked both of my kids if they have more fun here or at DisneyWorld (they both love Disney) and they both said they like staying at the cottage better.

House is perfect for two people. Really well decorated rooms, great location on the lake, includes a dock. Both the owners, Holly and Mark, could not be more accommodating. There is an area on site where you can launch a boat if you bring one. Mark was very helpful in helping me launch my Bass Boat and also was there when it was time to load it back onto the trailer. We will be back for sure next year.

This is a small, but perfectly outfitted, cottage at the edge of Damariscotta Lake. The views are beautiful and the owners are very helpful, friendly, and quick to respond. We especially loved hearing and seeing the loons. The furniture was comfortable and the grill worked great! We highly recommend this cottage.

Great location on lake with easy access to towns of Damariscotta, Waldoboro, Rockland and others. The cabin has all you need including a canoe and kayaks. The cabin is comfortable and the view of the lake is priceless. We will be back.

A little piece of Heaven. We love coming to Mark and Holly's cabin every year. So much so we have booked it 2 years in advance already. They are super nice and accommodating and make you feel so welcome. The cabin is always very clean and every year they've done things to upgrade. If I tell too many people about this place it will get overcrowded and that wouldn't be good for me. Among other things, I like quiet, sorta backwater places, with views, water, comfortable chairs and this well maintained cabin has it all. If you like lake living, here you can sit practically on top of the lake. It is a bit of a drive to the sea, but who cares. It is beautiful to be here on the lake and even better to come home to. I had a great time.

We loved our stay in this cozy cottage!

Perfect place to relax and recharge! We had an amazing time. The owners were very accommodating and friendly. This cottage was complete with what you will need while you're away from home (comfortable bed and plenty of hot water for your morning shower). They really think of EVERYTHING and do a fantastic job of providing a welcoming place. The lake is absolutely beautiful and we saw some awesome sunsets. We enjoyed the loons that came to greet us in the evenings as we sat by the campfire (Mark was very generous with providing the firewood). We brought our own boat and loved exploring the lake. I would mention the great fishing, but my husband says I can’t tell anyone else… so shhhh! ;) The windows in the cottage provided wonderful views of the lake- even while lying in bed. However, my husband and I found such tranquility in waking at dawn and sitting in the Adirondack chairs on the dock enjoying the morning stillness. We had some nice side trips while there. Acadia Nation Park is only about 2 hours away (without traffic) and just amazing! Also, if you are into lighthouses, I would then recommend Rockland Break Water Lighthouse. It is about 2 mile walk on granite blocks, so wear comfortable shoes. Also, we enjoyed Owls Head Lighthouse and Marshall Point Lighthouse/Port Clyde. In Camden we enjoyed driving to the top of Mount Battie, which overlooks Penobscot Bay (also nice place to watch the sunset). It was windy and rainy the day we went to Mt. Battie or we would have hiked to the top (6 miles total). The cottage is only about 15 minutes from a grocery store and restaurants. We highly recommend Moody’s diner. My husband and I look forward to another opportunity to rent this property again.

Our family of 3 enjoyed a relaxing week of swimming, sunset gazing, bird spotting, and occasional kayaking. Loved Damariscotta town with its river, yummy restaurants, two bookstores, and little shops just a 15 min drive away. I really appreciated the owners' attention to details. They keep a very clean, classic, rustic-renovated cottage with all the amenities you could ever want for a perfect lakefront Maine vacation. Thank you Holly and Mark.

Holly and Mark are wonderful owners. They are right next door to answer any of questions but yet you would never know they are there. The cabin and location are a little piece of heaven. Waking up in the morning to the sounds of the loons, and sitting by the fire pit watching the beautiful sunsets. We hated to leave and loved it so much, we will be booking for 2 weeks next year. Great spot, great location, great cabin, and great owners. Would give it 10 stars if possible.

This place is PERFECT! We couldn't have been happier with our stay. Mark and Holly were excellent hosts, they were great to chat with, very hospitable and accommodating, but constantly made it clear that we could have as much privacy as we wanted. And as far as the cabin's concerned, they've thought of everything! The cabin has kayaks, a canoe, board games, firewood, an outdoor gas grill, a hammock, etc. We honestly didn't need anything at all, except for groceries. The lakefront and dock were idyllic. We swam in the lake 4 or 5 times a day. The cabin is in a bit of a cove that gives it a quiet sense of distance from a lot of the activities in other parts of the lake. But a lot of this has been covered by other reviewers, so I would just add two things that I haven't seen mentioned in other reviews: the first is that the view of the lake from your living room is spectacular, it doesn't come across in the pictures at all. But while you're sitting on the couch or cooking lunch, you get this perfect panoramic view of the lake. And second, the cabin is oriented so that your private dock faces a dramatic, fiery sunset every evening. We sat on the dock and watched the sun go down every evening. It couldn't have been any better! Oh, one more thing, we saw a bald eagle within 10 minutes of arriving!
