About this farm stay rental

The Texas Barn is a corporate two bedroom, 1700 square foot separate guest home located on a private, gated 3 acre estate in the heart of the Medical Center. A large soaking tub and shower are features of the bathrooms. The grounds also include a main home, guest cottage and separate garage. Use of the private pool, and picnic area is included. Two Golden Retrievers, one Goldendoodle, one Rotweiler and a cat roam around the property and may entertain you! You are on your own once you pet them!
This is a fully furnished corporate unit complete with linens, dishes, utensils, pots and pans, TV, DVD, telephone, washer and dryer, internet service and cable. The only thing necessary is your suitcase. City of San Antonio requires a permit for Short Term Rentals and our permit number is STR-22-13500017.

Conveniently located in a busy corridor of San Antonio, this is a park-like setting that gives you the feel of living in the country. A scenic 40 mile bicycle, walking path (Leon Creek Greenway) is within a mile of the property. And there are other Bicycle Paths (Salado Creek Greenway) nearby. There are numerous golf courses close by.

Further Details: HEB grocery stores and shopping malls (Huebner Oaks and La Cantera) are very close by. Six Flags and Sea World Theme Parks are also very near. Downtown and the River Walk are approximately 20 minutes away. Lackland Air Force Base is approximately 15 miles away.

The property is also close to USAA, Valero, University of Texas Health Science Center, UTSA, La Cantera/Rim/Six Flags 'Fiesta' TX and the I10/Loop 1604 area. All of the area hospitals are minutes away.

The Texas Barn is a non-smoking environment.

The Barn is fully stocked with old fashioned games - Cards, Dominoes, Risk, Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, etc.

About The Owner: I am a retired educator and airline employee. My husband and I enjoy traveling, but we also love our home in San Antonio. Gardening and keeping the grounds lovely is a favorite pastime. We especially love to entertain, and enjoy the evenings around the patio area. We cook out often and enjoy al fresco dining and a glass of wine or a margarita by the pool. We love to get to know our guests. There is always an open invitation. We have several cats who will want to be petted and loved.

For a relaxing getaway, this is the place to come! You are right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of San Antonio, and yet once you enter this property, you feel like you are in the country! We are listed with the City of San Antonio as a provider of short term rentals and our permit number is 2019-0015.

We had the best time relaxing here each day! The dogs are so adorable and friendly and really make the stay so much fun. The deer next door are wonderful to visit with and the hosts are perfect. They live right there on the property and were so welcoming and inviting and made sure that we had everything we could possibly need.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Barn! It was the perfect size for my husband and I and our 2 boys. The home was clean and had all of the essentials we needed for our little vacation. The boys loved swimming in the pool, playing basketball and playing with the dogs every evening. Paul and Rhonda are wonderful hosts who were very attentive, easy to communicate with and made us feel right at home. We will definitely be staying here again!

This was the perfect place - close enough to get everywhere, far enough to feel like you're out of town. Very quiet, very clean and comfortable, and very beautiful. Paul and Rhonda were very responsive and welcoming hosts, and very knowledgeable about things to do in the area. We hope to book this one again for our next trip down!!

Communication was amazing, always replied promptly. Rhonda and Paul were such good hosts, lovely property and cosy accommodation. The dogs were a plus for us, as we left three fur babies at home, but Rhonda was very respectful where they were concerned. The roaming deer were another plus if you are an animal lover like us! We would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation and if we ever visit San Antonio again, that’s where we would stay.

The previous comments about the dogs and stairs were accurate. The dogs were super nice. We enjoyed their company. The VRBO was perfect for us. The location was super convenient for everywhere we went. The owners were very accommodating to all our questions. Good suggestions for visiting various sights. The deer next door were fun to watch too. The pool was also nice and convenient. Nothing but positive to say about our stay. We would highly recommend.

Rhonda was so helpful and provided everything I needed in this property. I enjoyed a nice quiet stay on lovely grounds, and enjoyed the friendly dogs that greeted me upon arrival! I booked the stay to "come up for air" because I am a family caregiver and needed to tend to some self care. It was exactly what the doctor ordered. I left feeling refreshed and got a lot of writing done for my memoir. Thanks Rhonda!

A wonderful place to stay in San Antonio! A gated, large property with large trees and nice landscaping, and extremely nice dogs! The "barn" is actually a very nice 2/2 small house, nicely furnished and nicely provisioned -- the decor is sort of country chic meets the south of France! Rhonda, one of the owners, was a delight! If you stay here and don't rate it a 5, you can't be pleased! We would definitely stay again!

We had a great time visiting! The master bed was one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on! The kids liked seeing the dogs on property. Owners were very sweet and helpful. There were a lot of nice pubs and bubble tea places close by.

The property was very clean an spacious for my son an grandkids. We had all of the amenities from home. I was able to cook an do some laundry while the kids would swim and play with the sweet dogs. We came here from Dallas and our daughters joined us from other parts of Texas to celebrate my husband's birthday. We floated the river, about 40 minutes NE of here and then went to Six Flags, about 15 minutes from here. The compound is beautiful, very quiet, and perfect for what we needed. Thank you!

Very clean quiet location. Convenient to airport and downtown. Must love dogs lol. Paul and Rhonda are very gracious hosts. We enjoyed feeding the herd of deer next door. Enjoyed music at the Rustic and dueling pianos at Howl at the Moon.

Many thanks to Rhonda and Paul for sharing their beautiful "Texas Barn." The property is convenient to most of San Antonio. The house was spotless, and all the amenities we needed were provided. The kitchen was well-appointed. The beds were comfy and the property was quiet. They have big, friendly dogs who made the trip extra-fun. We would definitely stay here again!
