Beautiful, private property. Quiet, peaceful, and very well-maintained.

The staff at Galley Bay were very pleasant and friendly.
The environment was clean and food was good esp at the Gauguin restaurant.
Not much to do in the surrounding areas.

This is a superb resort, no question. Beautifully manicured grounds, fantastic beach location, superb accommodation and facilities. Calm and exclusive. Staff absolutely wonderful.
The only thing that lets the resort down is the Gaugin restaurant, which serves lunch and dinner. Unquestionably a superb location for an evening meal, but food was of variable quality. Often rather bland due to lack of seasoning. Starters often very small. We had to send our meal back one evening, as several items on the plate were cold. The wines were also very expensive, limited choice and simply not worth the money. We purchased a bottle of US pinot noir costing $90, which in an on-line search turned out to be a $15 very average bottle of wine. That said, the house wine is not bad, unlimited and inclusive, although if you are there for more than a few days it can get rather repetitive.

Great choice and quality of food.
Really friendly and attentive staff
Amazing room on the beach
Wi-fi went down for a couple of days on the rooms but was fixed after the weekend

absolutely immaculate grounds! peaceful relaxing ambiance and the food was incredible! staff is super friendly, bar staff is always on top of drinks. dinners were romantic and the food truly was delicious. I highly recommend Galley Bay resort! we never had to ask for anything, there were fresh towels daily, wine and beer left for us in our room daily, beach chairs and umbrellas were set up for us everyday. the pool and grounds are so clean and pristine. we had an amazing honeymoon thanks to Galley Bay!
not a single complaint! they didn’t have any domestic US beer but other than that no complaints!

serene, beautiful water, activities for couples, great room w/ beach walk out. looks exactly like what’s advertised in pictures
a little too quiet; needed music.

The location was spectacular! The staff was beyond wonderful-- they anticipated needs before you realized you had them! Resort provided the perfect adult playground with bikes to boats to beach toys! Biking around the property was wonderful. We were absolutely AMAZED by the herb , vegetable and fruit gardens.
My only complaint is the occasional noise from power tools and blowers as maintenance issues were addressed. On the flip side of this, everything was kept to perfection so it was easy to understand that maintenance had , by necessity, to be a daily thing. My only other complaint -- not being able to stay forever!

The Galley Bay resort is excellent. The location is great, the food is exceptional and the staff were all amazingly friendly. We had a great time and would definitely recommend to others.
We were just a bit unlucky with the weather! We didn't get chance to go in the sea (as the red flag was flying throughout our stay) and it rained on one of the days. It was ok though - we had a car so were able to go and see other parts of the island.

location, beach, grounds, pool, Barefoot Grill and Rum shack, gym
cheap and dated furniture, crockery and in room coffee and tea makers, maintenance issues in room, food very average and no real differentiation across 3 restaurants. also sandbags piled at beach side door, quality of cocktails average. arrival also not in keeping with a luxury experience

Breakfast, Ismays and the Barefoot Grill were all superb, setting was lovely. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.
Could have been more music around the swimming pool area/ dining areas. Should be snacks in the rooms. Dinner in Ismay's was excellent, would have liked the same standard in all restaurants.

Elegant without being stuffy.

Beautiful location with lots of opportunity to enjoy the resort privately. Lots of nice, extra touches. Stunning beach and large array of watersports available. Excellent food with a la carte available at all restaurants (as opposed to buffet style meals). Management visible and engaging.
Lack of atmosphere during evening entertainment and no organised activities to make the most of the facilities (e.g. volleyball court). Staff were polite but no more than that, with the exception of a few.

Breakfast was good given the Covid restrictions:
Limited choice of resterauntsa ; due to covid

Lack of an air conditioned restaurant for evening meals.
It is not nice sitting down to dinner and getting bit by mosquitoes all the time.

The STAFF! Almost everything about Galley Bay exceeded our expectations, but the staff were probably the shining stars. From Cedric and Derrick to Stuart, Arianne, chef (I'm so sorry I forgot your name!) who gave us a bottle of their hot sauce, Ive, Vaughn, Shiloh, Kenya, Javid - everyone seems to have made it their mission to make your stay better. Everyone was warm, friendly and super helpful.
The room (premium beachfront) was ginormous with a lovely bathroom with 2 showers, kept sparkling clean by housekeeping. Sunbeds marked with room numbers meant no fighting for them in the morning!
The food was fabulous. In the restaurant which you went to with no reservations, you'd get ballontine of duck stuffed with foie gras, all a la carte. Gaugin was a standout for its location. Cocktails were well made and almost no waiting times.
Music (entertainment) - musicians who played were international stars (Burning flames!)
Water sports - great selection. The fantastic location meant no seaweed of the Atlantic side and sparkling clear waters to snorkel in.
Thank you for a fantastic honeymoon and we look forward to seeing you all again!
Can't fault Galley Bay at all! I only wish we could have had more yoga classes so you didn't have to run and get a spot 30 min in advance!

As much food as you wanted, watersports was amazing, some friendly staff, grounds were absolutely beautiful, beach was huge, great snorkeling near the shipwreck on the north side of the beach, food was pretty good.
No one told us we needed reservations for Ismay's and it was only open 2 nights we were there so we weren't able to eat there since it was already booked both nights. That was very disappointing and frustrating we weren't able to eat at one of the restaurants when we were paying $900 a night to stay there. Some staff were really friendly and others were a little cold. The wifi wasn't consistent but they did fix it every time we called to have them reset the router.
