The host Marco was very accommodating and helpful. You can see that he cares about his guests.
The moskito net which is over the bed, helped a lot during the night. The kitchen is equipped well enough to cook decent meals.
The moskitos and sandflies were quite a problem. It would have helped if the doors would have screens so when entering or leaving no moskitos can enter.

The location is within 3 mins walking distance of Galley Bay beach but there is no bar or sun loungers so it is a 'swim only' beach - the rest of the beach is for Galley Bay Resort guests. We loved the visiting birds on the terrace and felt very much 'back to nature' here as the property is set into the hillside. Marco was a great host and was keen to ensure we were happy.
The description on Booking.com was somewhat misleading in that is stated the property was 'located on the ground floor'. the property is on one level but there is a steep slope and steps to reach it which might be an issue for less fit people. From the description, we expected two bedrooms and a separate sitting room, however one bedroom has a sofa in it and this has to double as a sitting room and leads out onto the terrace. The bed was not even a standard double but 4' which we found a problem - just far too small. When we mentioned this to Marco, he immediately offered us Breeze Cottage (which was just up a few steps) and this was amazing with a lovely large bed and a beautiful terrace overlooking the bay. This gesture made our stay! Calabash Cottage could do with a bit of a make-over, its a bit tired (especially the kitchen) and it definitely needs a bigger bed in the 2nd bedroom to make is suitable for 4 adults and some more outdoor furniture (sunbeds).

The house was very clean and tidy, and it was great to have some biscuits, tea, coffee and milk available upon arrival. The host, Marco, had arrange a taxi for us to pick us up from the airport, which was brilliant.
The fact that the sleeping rooms are in separate buildings (although close) didn't work so well for us with two young children.

It was a very characterful cottage, with plenty of space, and good facilities. particularly the bathrooms were very good. Great location close to the local beach.
Nothing.

2 mins walk to the beach. Reasonably clean. Quite comfortable living there once you settled in.
Kitchen units, cutlery needs to be cleaned and replaced.

We loved everything, the host is amazing, he came to pick us at the airport (even if we would have a car) just to avoid us Carnival traffic jam, the cottage has lot of room and a lovely balcony and is very close to a great beach (look for the smaller one with a great coral reef) but at the same time it is slightly inside on top of a hill so there is that tropical countryside feeling. I would advice to have a car.

What a wonderful place. This is rustic accommodation surrounded by lush and beautiful scenery full of pretty birdlife. The wonderful terrace was a great place to BBQ and enjoy a drink after the day on beaches. Being able to walk to one of the best beaches on the Island and drive 5 minutes to many other fabulous beaches was a major bonus. Marco was quick to respond with any queries and and so helpful when our flight was delayed.
More comfortable terrace seating and more kitchen utensils.

It was everything we were looking for! We went there as two couples and had like two individuals cabins which waw really convenient for us. The cottage has the most amazing terrace, surrounded by trees and bird sounds. It is located in a secluded area, so it was peaceful. Close to Galley Bay which is a beautiful beach. Marco was helpful with everything. Overall, we highly recommend it to everyone.

Marco could not have been more hospitable- met us and dropped us back to the airport, took us to the supermarket and orientated us when we first arrived.
Lots of extras - loads of fresh towels including beach ones, cleaned every 2 days, WiFi, laundry, milk & water in the fridge on our arrival. Great location for Galley beach and a 5min drive from our favourite Deep Bay which was wide, sheltered and the water was very calm.
Only thing I’d mention is that the two bedrooms are separated by an open decking area. Not an issue as our kids are old enough to run between the two happily but might be an issue with younger children.
