Loved the gardens, the food and the people that worked at the hotel.

We enjoyed the breakfast every morning. It was a buffet style including variety of bread, fresh fruits, fresh juice, cold cut, cheeses, yogurt, cereals, etc. You can also order drinks and any number of foods from the al carte menu with no additional charges. The breakfast service was very efficient, friendly, and professional. We liked our room with our private lounge chairs facing the garden. We were welcomed with a plate of fresh fruits, fresh cut flower arrangement, and two large, bottled water. Funchal is a very busy place. However, our room was below the street level, thus insulating from the traffic noises. We woke up listening to birds singing to us every morning, because of its beautiful garden setting. We enjoyed a peaceful time in the busy town. We also like the abundant use of natural wood in the furniture, the building, and the room. The people at the reception were very friendly and helpful.
We enjoyed everything. Only thing we regret was that we didn't stay here the entire time on the island. We instead stayed another place in the western side.

The entire hotel was amazing! Beautiful gardens and pools. Amazing to relax after exploring the city. Restaurant was delicious as were the cocktails. Breakfast was quite the spread with good coffee, and a hot menu as well.
Nothing.

The gardens and buildings are spectacular. The staff are very friendly and efficient.
The only restaurant for dinner is fine dining, very formal and very expensive. The bar is the same with no relaxed environment for a drink.

Everything, the location, surroundings, it was so pretty with the flowers, butterflies and all the green around. the facilities was so interesting and special. Breakfast was good but mostly the view and very the breakfast where located was fantastic. Last but not least the staff was amazing and so polite and professional, they even asked me when I wanted to go to the restaurant late at night if I wanted someone to follow me there I think that was a little bit extra. Overall we are happy that we choose this hotel.

We staid 2 nights in this hotel and it was one of the best hotel experience in my life. First the welcome & reception was perfect as the people are super nice. But the best part is clearly the garden. This is an incredible garden with swimming pools, lot of trees & flowers. This is a high standard hotel. The breakfast is also amazing !! Big kudos to the whole team !
Nothing ! Everything was perfect. We cannot say anything bad

The hotel has one of the most beautiful gardens I have ever seen. I liked it more than the actual botanical garden in Funchal. The hotel is very quiet yet located within a walking distance to main attractions. One of its main advantages is the size too - it just has enough rooms to feel comfortable, without mass tourism. The service was very professional and friendly. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable.
The hotel definitely has its charm, but at one point of time in the future it would require a proper refresh - the design of the rooms is a bit dated, missing some modern facilities like sockets by the bed or more modern AC or bathroom. But despite that, we definitely liked the hotel and will come back again.

The Quinta has a very obvious aura of calm and relaxation. It is an oasis of peace that puts one immediately at ease. The gardens are spectacular, staff are friendly and helpful and we spent a perfect two weeks enjoying the award-winning food and relaxing atmosphere.
There was really nothing to complain about. There is a bit of a hill to climb to get to the Quinta, and it is 2KM into town but we actually enjoyed the exercise and embraced it as part of the vacation.

the location is exceptional as the garden as well. You just feel like in paradise. Very calm and silent.
Well, I had a room over their restaurant and it was quite noisy, as they played their music sometimes after midnight. That was annoying.

beautiful rooms set in gorgeous gardens.
an exceptional restaurant -very good value for money.
peaceful location. Everything was fine with so much attention to detail. We stayed in a suite because it was the only room left and it was just great. Two shower rooms, a spa bath, an enormous veranda and a living room. Breakfast was also exceptionally good, especially the walnut bread.
The only thing I would change is that the gardens only got the mornjng/midday sun so, from our veranda we hit very little direct sun from 2pm. If it is really hot then it probably won’t matter. it wouldn’t stop me from re-booking though. I think this hotel provided excellent value for money and unusually good service.
