Nice hostel in the city center

- Central location and close to the train station - shared kitchen with enough pots, pans, cutlery etc - bathrooms in the rooms but also plenty available in the corridor - large sitting area and also small hangout area

- I think I slept in the squeakiest bed in history, every time I moved my leg there was noise, other beds seemed fine - lots of people where staying 1 night, would habe been nice to have people in the room staying multiple nights to avoid loud noises durring the night and in the morning

De receptionist was heel vriendelijk en heeft ons goede tips gegeven voor ons verblijf in Bergen. We hadden een tweepersoonskamer, die erg ruim was. De bedden waren heel goed.

Logement qui correspondait à nos attentes, économique, central, ambiance internationale

Hôtel style auberge de jeunesse (revivifiant quand on a 70 ans) très bien situé dans un quartier à restaurant sympa et économique (pour la ville de Bergen). Notre chambre était petite mais suffisante pour passer 2 nuits. Tout est contrôlé au niveau propreté surtout dans la cuisine commune.

Chambre vraiment minuscule. Difficile d'avoir une cafetière au petit-déjeuner, seulement 2. L'ascenseur peut être en panne, il faut gravir 3 étages alors !

Logement acceptable au centre.

Emplacement idéal, accès simple (code) et coût abordable. La cuisine était bien aussi et il y avait suffisamment de salles de toilette.

Les lits ne sont pas très confortables.

Badrummet i 10-sängs rum för kvinnor behöver renoveras. Städerskor behöver ta hänsyn till gästerna mer.

Absolutely Fantastic Stay at City Hostel Bergen!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at City Hostel Bergen, and I can confidently say it was one of the best hostel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and at home. Their warmth, friendliness, and willingness to help with any request truly set this hostel apart. The hostel itself is impeccably clean. Every corner, from the communal areas to the bathrooms and dormitories, is maintained to a high standard, making it a comfortable and pleasant place to stay. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, allowing me to unwind and fully enjoy my time here. One of the greatest advantages of City Hostel Bergen is its prime location right in the heart of the city. It’s perfectly situated, with easy access to all the main attractions, restaurants, and public transportation. This made exploring Bergen a breeze and added so much convenience to my trip. Initially, I had planned to stay for just four days, but I was so impressed and happy with everything that I extended my stay to a full seven days. The decision was easy—this place feels like a second home. The combination of the amazing staff, clean facilities, and perfect location made it impossible to leave so soon. I will undoubtedly be returning to City Hostel Bergen on my next visit to this beautiful city. If you’re looking for a place that offers exceptional service, cleanliness, and a true sense of home away from home, this is the place to be. Highly recommended!

Best Hostel i ever been

The location is very near to train station, just a few walk away. The room i stay in is for four female person, inside has own locker and hair dryer, and i love the view. The bathroom is mix, but i dont mind, it has enough space, it was clean, and also has hair dryer. The toilet is also enough, and it is clean. The kitchen is fantastic, it has 2 fridge, has 2 oven and a microwave oven, a kettle, and other utensils. And they have free pepper and salt. If your looking for some oil, buy on your own, its not expensive anyway :) there is also enough space to sit/eat. The check in process is so easy, and to check out as well. There are near restaurants and groceries as well.

Better than a hotel

If you stay in a double room with private bathroom, it feels like any very good hotel. Even a kitchen in your room. Privacy and very, very quiet, nothing to do with hostels where youngsters are partying around all the time.

Good affordable option

Location was great. Everything in walking distance. Relatively calm for a hostel on the weekend.

No real interaction with staff. A little impersonal but that depends on your preferences.

LOVED the room I booked with it's own bed & bath, so my odd hours didn't bother others.

Excellent location to the things in town I wanted to do & see. Had a mini fridge in the room and an electric kettle. A number of convenient shops for food & takeaway, and many restaurants that are also away from the super-tourist zone. Convenient to bus & tramlines.

There was a bit of a problem/worry for checkin when my flight was hours late, so the reception office was closed by the time I got there. I had the wrong entry code from an old email & my phone didn't work as it was supposed to in order to contact the manager by the given phone number. Luckily 3 different strangers were finally able to get me in contact with the correct person to give me the right code to get into my room, after a 16 hour trip. So MAKE SURE your phone and/or email will work in another country, especially when it's a holiday & free wifi is harder to find.

Uncomfortable room but great staff and location

The staff was great, as was the location.

The room looked absolutely nothing like the pictures, and from what I glimpsed of the other rooms they are the same. It was much less nice than the pictures made it appear, and ultimately was not what I had wanted to was looking for. The only positive is the location, for the price, the room should have been nicer and more comfortable.

I stayed in a double bedroom with a private bathroom. It was very comfy and quiet so I had real good rest for the night. The location is also quite nice, both train and bus stations were close by as well as the busy city centre.

The window in my room was broken and it was hard to close it. The common space cleanliness could be improved too - entrance and the elevator.
