良くも悪くも普通。
値段の割に高い。ベッド部屋はビジネスホテルと同じだが値段は倍する。

The ryokan room was beautiful with a great garden view. The property is close to many shops and restaurants, and the staff was very courteous and helpful.

Very friendly staff, always knowing ahead of zs what we need next. Great japanese food. Staid there 3 nights and had three different meals. Japanese room much better for us as the western style.
It is out of Kyoto-and a 15 min walk without alternatives to get there with luggage. Quite pricy...

It was directly at the river and in a beautiful, very touristy area outside Kyoto. Although it was busy the hotel is on a quiet road & was like a fortress with no noise at all.
The onsen was great.
The food incredible.
The service and setting impeccable.
The meals are wonderful but not flexible (if part of your accommodation) although I was planning to be in the city, I couldn’t cancel my meal.

Even this hotel is a little far from the station, no transportation service, but it’s besides the river and near to the shopping street, has great location for Arashiyama sightseeing. The building was old and small, the window can not be opened, without river view, but there were lovely well-cared Japanese gardens, big common tub, nice bed, so our stay was still comfortable. We had really Lenten breakfast buffet there, the lineup can not be more frugal, but the price is only 2000en so that was acceptable.

full immersion in the Japanese culture with very typical baths, dinner and breakfast. The room was spacey and comfortable and location just perfect.
Due to the la language barrier we had a misunderstanding and I ended up paying double for adding a guest to my room. Normally the increase should be less that 100%.

Fantastic location
Streets with many other tourist, no restaurants open in town at night or early morning

Room was spacious, view out the window was great, major attractions around Arashiyama are literally next to the hotel or within walking distance.
Air conditioner was not working, super crowded streets (since it's right in the center of Arashiyama). Had to take public transit or drive to get to other attractions in Kyoto.

Nice location, big room , nice garden view.
Dinner and breakfast is not impressive.

The property is very close to the Bamboo Forest and is very quiet regardless of its central placement. Our room had a really nice view, it was spacious and comfortable. The hotel has a little bit of an “upper class” vibe (in a good way). We booked with breakfast and dinner and they were really worth the money! The dinner is a Kaiseki meal, presented like a little work of art. We didn’t really know how to eat it but the staff was so friendly and guided us. Overally staying at this hotel was a wonderful experience and we wish we could have stayed more here.

The views of garden is amazing and is quite a silent place.
Consider an old hotel, the cleaning still in line.

Location is great to walk to Tenryuji temple & Bamboo forest, you're pretty much close to everything - very nice walk around the area for either sightseeing or food.
Clean room and well equipped public bathroom. The staffs are friendly and helpful, they keep up to date with JR status and advise us when we try to go to Kinosaki in the snowstorm day.
Keiseki dinner is so so, great service though. Better get the room with breakfast - they serve traditional meal with steamed tofu and onsen egg is the best!

The bathtub in the room wasn't clean. If you could put a little snack to welcome, that will be nice.

i had relaxing and nice stay!

the location was fantastic, perfect for those who want to stay in arashiyama a bit longer and enjoy the various temples. the hotel is nice, clean, and has a free parking lot (on first come first served basis).
not about the property per se, but the arashiyama area restaurants close very early (think lunch only). we didn’t book the hotel dinner because it was quite expensive, but finding a nice restaurant nearby was a bit challenging.

Everything was just great. Large room very suitable for a family, great breakfast and friendly owners. Would love to visit again in winter time!

The only thing I could fault was that the pillows were a little thick and hard.
