You have all you need, great rooms, food, convenience stores, atm, sports centre, luggage storage, a transportation hub, but most of all, really helpful staff

Not much
The room facilities listed a private pool when it’s a communal pool. This is a lie and false advertising, so after seeing the room we cancelled our booking and left

This review is a little late, as our stay was in May. We stayed for a month due to business matters and visiting family etc. I'm even willing to leave a review this late because this hotel is worth writing a review for. We were impressed with the following 1) There is a local CU store within walking distance (approx. 5 mins). Though small, it had some valuable items and delicious snacks. 2) Yongsan is a good location to travel from as a base. 3) a large shopping mall (10 mins walk) linked to Yongsan station was helpful for necessities, food and gifts. I particularly loved the Korean culture and arts shop for quality souvenirs and gifts for others. 4) Customer service from the concierge team was very good. I want to thank the team who were very helpful in booking taxis, helping to carry our many suitcases, providing restaurant recommendations, etc. Their English was also very good! We travel to Korea twice yearly and plan to make this hotel our chosen place of residence. We will be travelling again in December; see you soon!
1) Yongsan was a good location and close to the station, but the walk to the station was uphill, which wasn't much fun on hot days. There was a lot of renovation work then; therefore, I hope they consider a quicker walkway with direct access from the hotel to the station soon. 2) The cleaning could have been better (even though we left tips for the cleaners daily). Once we complained, it improved. 3) Whilst we were staying, the ceiling above the toilet caved in, and it was the biggest hassle to have to move rooms (imagine repacking and unpacking a month's worth of clothes of personal items). This was after we had been out for a whole day in the rain, and though we wanted to rest, the above situation meant a further 3 hours of moving. I then got sick from this as a result. The initial response from management needed to be better, offering one food coupon or a bottle of wine, but in the end, they provided a small discount which we were more appreciative of.

The hotel is located near the Yongsan station.
We found a pair of wet socks in the washing machine when we just checked in.

Location is excellent, next-door to Yongsan Station.
The room in Novatel Ambassador was a good size, good view on floor 37 and clean. Guys on reception were very helpful.
The bar in the lobby shuts at 9pm but we were turned away on our first evening at 8:30pm because they were closing early. 2nd evening we stood waiting at the bar only to get told when it was our turn to be served that they had a group only evening - there were about 8 Germany guys, they were as astounded as I was, the bartender told us to go to floor 26 for food and drink, which we did, only issue was we ordered food and wine at 9:30pm and before we had even got near to finishing they put the bill on the table and said we had to be out by 10pm. Absolutely shocking service and extremely expensive. We didn't eat or drink in the Novatel for the rest of the 10 days. There are sort of four sections to Dragon City, Mercure, Ibis, Novatel and Novatel Abassador, My advice is book the Grand Mercure next-door, they are fantastic and restaurant, bar and garden area is really nice. I will choose the Grand Mercure on my next visit.

Professional staff food was amazing

the environment, convenience, cleanliness and staff. We utilized the gym and sauna. it was relaxing and the staff was so friendly. I don’t think the members were happy we were utilizing their sauna. They were very rude and unfriendly. We had breakfast every morning and even though there was a wait the staff was friendly, professional and worked quickly to accommodate all of us. I was super impressed with their process. We ate at the 25 restaurant and the food was superb and our waiter was professional and helpful! We ate on the first floor cafe and again the staff was friendly. My mom purchased jewelry and wanted something that wasn’t available at the store. The owners went out of their way to find what my mom was looking for and called her the next day. she purchased the item and became friends with the owners. They were so kind and even helped us figure out what bus to take on our trip. The check in and concierge staff, was professionalism, enthusiasm spoke multiple languages and provided top service. I was impressed! I have stayed in many hotels but this hotel has set their standards so high it will be tough for others to compare. I love Korea and when I come back Novotel is where we will stay. I can’t forget about my room! The view was amazing and the staff who clean our rooms were excellent.
My only recommendation would be to provide larger coffee cups or recyclable large cups. During breakfast we went back 3 times to fill up. That was an inconvenience to us. we had to wait in line each time. If our waiter took our plates, cups, we would get a new cup. This also requires your staff to clean more. Providing larger coffee cups would reduce the amount of time for both staff and guests.

It was very luxurious and the staff went above and beyond. We had a problem with the washing machine and it was fixed by one of the staff who was so friendly and cheerful. Excellent customer service.
Nothing it was a very positive experience

A fantastic hotel with spacious rooms, great interior and nice beds. It was great that the room had a washing machine we could use. We absolutely loved the fitness center and the breakfast buffet. The hotel is next to Yongsan station which made navigating to other areas very easy. I recommend booking a room with city view, as it is very beautiful and better looking than the Han-river view from where the hotel is located. Inside Dragon City there's a CU convenience store, and the hotel has many more services and features such as an arcade and a casino. Very much recommend!
Nothing! The CU convenience store is somewhat difficult to find, so ask the staff to guide you to the correct place.

I loved this hotel and the suite was amazing.
Extremely spacious, clean with great facilities. There was a lovely view and very close to a train station and huge shopping centre. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and extremely helpful. A definite place I would stay again when back in South Korea!

there was a sauna, spa, pool. it was connected to a major shopping centre and train station
the coffee prices were expensive, about $12 Australian. We had dinner on 26, and the food quality was average

The facility was very nice. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean.
We would have liked to use the bath, but there was hair in it. Other than that, we had a wonderful stay.

5 star hotel facility with 1 star service.
Too many unfriendly staff who do not want to be there.
Carrying 6 bags - none of the staff offered to help.
Key cards constantly stopped working and often made us waited up to 30 minutes outside of our room. I had to call them a several times to follow up.
Room was not okay at all with dust everywhere, couch with blood stains (god knows why there were blood stains from the first place). Definitely not worth paying $400 a night for Novotel Suites Ambassador.
Hotel Restaurant sign said it was operating until 24:00 but was closed when we got there at 9pm.
During our breakfast at their lounge - one of their staff dropped a plate and it shattered everywhere - I am guessing some of them pieces may have gone into the food but none of them replaced the food or stopped people from stepping over the broken and sharp pieces (an instant red flag for breach of safety standards)
At the hotel bar - they kept on providing alcohol to an already intoxicated person who ended up spitting at us from the behind out of nowhere and throwing chairs and etc - no apology or what so ever to us. When we complained as we had to leave the bar (with drinks and food we already paid) to avoid the intoxicated person, the person at the counter said security was already own their way (1 skinny man who could barely do anything to stop the outrageous intoxicated man).
Please avoid this hotel.

The food was fine. Nothing really exceptional. It is what you would expect from a typical breakfast buffet.
The room was dusty and had quite a bit of stain. The hotel was fine but it was not worth the price.

Absolutely worth the money, we look forward to staying again. The river view offered an interesting perspective at night, with lots of lights in the city.
One night there was a party with loud banging music in a room near ours, it went right through to past 4am, even after we'd rung reception who told us the manager was looking into it, we lost sleep that night and upon check out, we told them again but they seemed unenthusiastic to offer any sort of compensation.
