We liked everything and were very comfortable from start to finish.
The room was beautifully decorated and furnished, the bathroom large and clean and lovely hot shower.

Location
Everything was closed till 4pm. I arrived earlier hoping to check-in but needed to wait a long time outside in the rain before the housekeeping lady was eventually able to contact management for a key.
I sent a timely email requesting an early check-in, as stipulated in the conditions of booking, but this was never acknowledged. To add insult to injury, I still had to pay a further £10 for entering my room about an hour earlier.
I did not like having to share a bathroom.
I did not see anybody from management, in fact there was nobody around at all - besides a young man informing me of a fire drill, which I was told to ignore.
The building certainly lacked a friendly and inviting ambiance.
Breakfast was offered when I previously booked the room, but the following morning there was nobody around for me to organize this. Everything was closed up, with no life in the building at all. By the time I checked out, before 11am, there was still nobody around. I called management to see where to leave my key, and was told to just leave it in a pot near the back door. And that was that… I walked away with a very empty feeling which I have yet to experience in many of my previous travels. All in all, a disappointing time in this establishment.

The size of the deluxe room
The reception is mostly unattended and if this is the case and you arrive late at the hotel, you cannot check-in and after 8pm the reception is closed and locked and then in the night you are obliged to find another hotel even when you paid for the room. My suggestion is to avoid to book a room in this hotel as you can face the risk of being not accommodated and pay extra money elsewhere (this happened to me).

The bedroom was spacious and the bathroom was large. There was a tub.
Not all of the usual food items were available for a complete English breakfast.

Breakfast was good. Waitress very polite.
Didn't like ordering breakfast the night before.
Room was very hot, even with windows open and fan on. Room small, kept catching the end of the bed when trying to get passed.
No maid service when my partner went to ask for some coffee and milk , got told by bar staff he couldn't have any, even though it says on message on booking that you can, they very reluctantly gave him 2 sachets of coffee !! There was a party on the Saturday night that was very loud.

It was clean
The self check-in/out was easy.
The room was in a building adjacent to the main hotel and looked like staff accommodation (?). The bathroom was across the corridor, not in the room and there was another room on the same floor, which meant zero privacy. There were 3 unlabeled keys on the key ring to access the room and the bathroom and both locks were old, noisy and "fiddly" so the other guests must have heard me lock and unlock the bathroom each time I used it.. None of that was mentioned in the description when I was booking a double room with the bathroom, because I wouldn't have booked it otherwise. The room had a very old dirty carpet and bed was literally falling apart and was squeaky with every move. The floor was uneven and squeaky. The bathroom looked like it came from the 60s or 70s and the lino around the toilet had a lot of yellow stains around it. The view from the window was onto a roof and there was a window just across the roof, which meant even less privacy once the lights were on. The clock on the wall was broken (?) and was making a terrible noise (stopped once I removed the battery for the night)
It is false advertising, it's not a double room with a bathroom. It requires a lot of work and at the moment it should be offered at a much lower rate than the actual double rooms WITH bathrooms.
It was a very disappointing stay, but I checked in after 8, so there were no members of staff to talk about it and ask for a different room or a refund.
I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND this "hotel."

Nothing good to report about this property, requested an early check in but was told 4pm and that’s it
We got locked out the property at 9-20pm, contacted the staff which were rude. This is not a hotel it’s a Hostel. Made 3 attempts to contact the property before actually getting to speak to someone. Check in (as they call it) is open 4pm-6pm. We returned to the hotel at 9-20 to find it closed and totally locked up….. we had to get someone to come down and unlock a door (which he said should NEVER be locked) so we could get in. Felt unsafe so decided to drive home at 10-30pm

Fantastic reception and made to feel welcome.
A small issue with the TV remote as it may have been taken on holiday by the previous guest, however this issue was resolved by me moving room, no fuss, straight forward.
Liked the covered patio area in front of the chalet.
Nice and quiet stay, plenty of parking
Shame they weren't offering dinner, however there is a fantastic fish and chip restaurant 3 mins away by car.

It was a shame that we had to choose our breakfast options the night before, plus having to book a 20 minute slot - I prefer more freedom when I'm on holiday. Also that the menu said 1 slice of toast which appeared a bit penny pinching. Two things that would be easy for the hotel to fix

absolutely awesome!!! very clean
nothing, it was great

There is a car park. The room was clean initially (but there is no cleaning service during your stay).
My bedroom had no window and so made me feel rather claustrophobic. The bed was uncomfortable and made creaking noises at the slightest movement. The outside door to the "chalet" did not lock, but when I queried that I was just told "No, but that's not a problem", even though it made me feel uncomfortable. The bar menu had no healthy options and we were not asked whether or not we wanted breakfast. Nor were we ever asked if everything was satisfactory.
The fact that coffee and tea sachets were replaced daily but that if you wanted a second packet of biscuits or another bottle of water you had to pay seemed irrational and unwelcoming - 'The Hotel Inspector' would have had a field day!
8.0
Comfortable and spacious room, smart decor.
Was very problematic trying to amend my booking although the staff made every effort to be helpful but was still a worry snx took days to sort which added to stress as I was in area due to family bereavement. Location was not ideal for finding food in evening as hotel bar was not open during my stay
