It was a lovely hotel with nice and kind owners and staff. Breakfast quality was high as they used their own products and house made food. I really enjoyed the beach as it’s just opposite the hotel! Looking forward to visit you next year for longer stay!

The staff were lovely and the location was ideal. Close to everything but still quiet.

A clean hotel with a nice pool and a pleasant place to sit by it. Hardworking helpful staff.
We stayed here for the second time.
The first visit was 7 years ago. It left an excellent impression and satisfaction..
but now it was a big disappointment!!
We ordered an apartment for 3 people. The photos showed a kitchen, a bedroom and another bed with a mosquito net. I sometimes wanted to prepare something for the children, because it is a hotel with breakfast only.
The reality was completely different.
An empty room, only a noisy fridge, no kitchen or table. Kettles and mugs on the fridge, we had to have things on the floor.
Only hangers in the closet, shelves occupied, stuffed with blankets.
A bed tucked in the corner, no bedside table, just a chair next to the bed.
Unpleasant pillowcases and an uncomfortable mattress.
Only one small bottle of shower gel per person during the entire stay. No brush cup. Ants in the bathroom and actually all over the apartment.
Low power consumption, the phone charged very slowly.
Breakfast average, always the same, no choice of fruits and vegetables.
Just melons, tomato, cucumber.
We would have expected compensation for this lack of equipment and the extra expense of not being able to prepare our own dinners!
We would certainly not choose such an empty room and would look for another, equipped hotel.
I expect at least 50% of the price of the stay back.

Very friendly and helpful staff, making you feel like you are at home. Variety of options for breakfast, free transfer from and to airport. Overall a great place. I recommend it, close to centre and some lovely restaurants. Amazing pool area.
Some of the hotel policies were absurd. Like having just one key per room, which is problematic as the key is needed for electricity in the room. Eventually we got a second key from the lovely receptionist. To the hotel owners - Please, don't spoil the nice experience at the hotel with such inconveniences. Also the lights in the toilet near reception switch off literally 20 seconds after you enter and they are not activated by movement.

The city of Malia is not recommended for families

Very nice little hotel with friendly staff. Location was perfect just between the Malia old town (about 15 min walk), beach (10 min walk) and night-clubs' street, but still far enough to be quiet and calm in the hotel area. Exceptionally clean both inside and outside, rooms were cleaned every day with care. Pool area was beautiful and comfortable, including little bar with drinks and food to order. Breakfast was the same every day, but there were enough different choices so we didn't get bored at all (sandwiches, eggs in three different ways, sausages, bacon, greek yoghurt, several cereals, greek specialities, pastries, fruits etc). Airport transfer was extra bonus. All our requests and questions were handled professionally and it made our vacation really carefree.
In the apartments the kitchen facilities were very basic, so probably it would be difficult to prepare bigger meals.

pool, location, clean
air conditioning broke but they felt bad

Pool is only one advantage of the place.
Eggs on breakfast were nicely made.
Pasta is okay and cook is a good lady.
Reception lady is nice.
1. Old furniture with ugly lamp shades and 100 years dust on them.
2. Last remake or wall paint 30 years ago.
3. To make a flash in the toilet U need to use toothbrush or other inventions.
4. U recieve clean towels only by request.
5. Electricity is poor and U charge your phone for very long time.
6. WiFi can not give U power enough to watch simple video.
7. Door slams very loud.
8. No sound isolation between neighboors.
9. Very old ugly bedding.
10. Uncomfy cheap synthetic pillows.
11. Bad quality of matress.
12. U recieve only one key per room, so when U go away, electricity switches off and no charging for your devices.
13. Door handle in bathroom was broken.
14. U wait for hot water in the bathroom for half an hour.
15. No hair dryer.
16. The owner is a scandalist and shouts out loud if U complain directly.
17. Safe in the room is not safe, a key opens it, there is no unique numbers combination U create to keep your stuff in safety.
18. Disgusting brown spots on walls in bathroom next to toilet.
19. Water pressure in shower is poor.
20. U recieve just 3 tiny bottles of shower gel and 5g soap for 6 nights.
21. Not all cups and not all forks are clean during the breakfast.

What made the biggest impression on me was cleanliness. I've never experienced it before - nowhere!
Furthermore - very nice and friendly staff, nice swiming pool. Breakfasts a bit repetitive but good and tasty. Good location, close to the city center and quiet at the same time.
If you stay in Malia - Socrates Hotel is a good choice :)
Some of the staff appeared to be artificially nice, but maybe that was just my impression and I'm exaggerating :)

The staff is very friendly, always there to help you if needed. Thank you for your smiles !!
The hotel is very well located, 5-10min walk to the beaches as well as old Malia
Breakfast was delicious and with many options, and the food available at the pool during the Day is great as well.
The swimming pool area is great.
The appartments are pretty big.
WiFi works very well and AC as well
Also very kid-baby friendly.
The bathrooms are very tiny, and the fact that there is no réal door for the Shower is not very prcatical.
Kitchen is good for light lunch, but dont try to cook anything more.
You Can also hear People from the other rooms (walking, flushing toilets...).
But overall this place is very nice !!

Good location, great swimming pool, friendly staff, good breakfast.

Very clean and great location, everything you need, fab pool and sun loungers, pool towels provided, it did say changed every 3 days but we were there for 8 and only got 1 change but we didn’t use them everyday so didn’t matter to us. Breakfast is very good and served at the lovely pool area by 2 lovely lady’s. It’s great that they provide airport transfers for free but I’d say more likely built in the price as a little more expensive than other hotels In the area but worth it as it saves the hassle of taxis. Quiet location between malia & stalis so perfect for a nice walk either way. Lovely view from the balcony.
Beds were a little bit too hard for me and aircon isn’t the best
4.5
Small facility, very well located. Clean and functionally furnished rooms. Good location, a little out of the way but close to the beach and entertainment.
Hard uncomfortable beds. Monotonous breakfast - the same thing every day.

Pool and stuff are the best part of this hotel.
Especially recepcionist was very helpful and kind person
Pool is quite big, and has part of deep water, suitable for jumping
Hotel is located in silent part of the city but still close to the beach.
For this price - nothing
