About this apartment rental
Clean, comfortable, less than 1 mile to downtown & UNCA, steps from Homegrown, Luella's BBQ, Asheville Pizza and Brewing Company, off-street parking, shared garden/yard w/firepit, hardwood & tile floors, original ceramic tub, super comfy king bed + daybed for extra guest, fridge, sink, coffee, tea. We now offer cable TV on a small flat screen TV, with over 300 channels, including HBO and Cinemax.
This quaint, rustically elegant apartment, in a 1927 stucco house, has lots of character, (like an original built-in ironing board and original ceramic tub!) plus everything you need for your relaxing Asheville retreat. (Tub also has a shower.) Less than a mile to downtown (GPS map says .8 , 3 minute drive and 20 minute walk to the outskirts.) Hardwood floors, plenty of natural light and closet space, really comfortable King bed and day bed for extra guest who is not very tall, (probably not comfortable for people taller than 5' 4"), lots of pillows, lamps, desk/chest, heater, A/C, sweet eat-in kitchenette with smnall fridge, 2 burner hotplate, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, electric kettle, George Foreman electric grill, dishes, pots and pans, cotton linens and towels, natural light from windows, lovely walk to downtown and UNCA, (especially in nice weather for hearty walkers, yet some guests find it too far to walk).
The apartment is steps from Asheville Biscuitry, Moe's, Homegrown, Sushi, The Hop ice cream, UNCA trails, Luella's Bar-B-Que, Musician's Workshop, Greenlife Grocery, Trader Joes, Asheville Pizza, and Brewing Company (they have great recent $3.00 movies too!), etc. Shared back yard garden and fire pit to enjoy, flower and herb gardens, off-street carport for one car. We have lived in the main part of the house until recently and have moved around the corner in Montford, so we are available if you need anything. Our resident manager Brian can also help you if you need anything.
This apartment is on the ground floor, steps from the back parking lot, with a separate entrance sensor flood lights, and solar lanterns for nighttime ease. You may hear footsteps from time to time, voices, and other domestic sounds, yet we encourage all of our guests and tenants to comply with the expectation of quiet enjoyment of the property. If you wish no sign of others, this is not a good fit, but there is still quite a bit of privacy to enjoy. Best enjoyed by 2 or 3 people looking for a soulful Asheville experience. The parking lot can be tight with large vehicles, yet we have recently expanded it to make it easier. However, there may be situations where you need to back down the narrow driveway to turn around in the alley.
Keurig coffee machine, 2 burner hotplate/ range, large toaster oven, large microwave. Pots and Pans, dishes, and cutlery. If you plan on using the fire pit, please put the fire out completely when done. Internet network: Henry & Gus, Password: levincreative
The day bed is only suitable for sleeping for either children or people no taller than about 5' 5". Otherwise, it may not be very comfortable. Bedding for daybded is in the closet.
Guest interaction: Private space. No need to interact, but there is a friendly vibe. We prefer to communicate with messages through VRBO or texts when possible. Our resident managers are delightful and helpful when you may have questions or concerns.
Please preapprove your pet with us before booking, We will only consider exceptionally well-behaved and quiet pets. There is a $20 per night pet fee. Please do not leave pet alone in apartment if it is loud or destructive in any way.
If you wish to do some light laundry, we invite you to use the basement washer and dryer that is shared with our cleaning person for the apartment laundry. Permanent residents use a different washer/dryer. We provide the location of the hidden key to the basement that has a separate entrance upon request.
Neighborhood overview: The neighborhood is fun and close to everything most Asheville visitors seek, has a woodsy feel, yet walking distance to downtown and UNCA, and Botanical Gardens, with nice, friendly, relaxed neighbors. Dough, Homegrown, Moe's Burritos, Musicians Workshop, and Luella's BBQ, are all less than a 5-minute walk from the apartment. A couple of blocks to beautiful UNCA-owned public wooded trails that lead to Botanical Gardens, UNCA, ropes courses, etc. 10-minute walk to Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, and Harris Teeters, 15-20 minute walk to the heart of downtown (GPS says walking is about 18 minutes) or 3+ minutes by car, according to GPS maps. The neighborhood has some historic homes, some newer homes, and some townhouses, w/ some families, professionals, artists, and students.
Getting around: Many guests love the mile walk to downtown and UNCA, however, some guests find it too far to walk. Uber is an affordable and popular option. Bus stops 2 blocks away. Everything accessible. Perfect location to get to downtown and UNCA, shops, restaurants, cafes, breweries, boutiques, clubs, galleries, theater, fine arts theater, museums, Thomas Wolf House, 10-minute drive to Biltmore Village, Biltmore House, and Gardens, and the Grove Park Inn, Blue Ridge Parkway, NC Arboretum.

We had a great time! Walked everywhere, though may be a little much for some, Met so many fun people! Ate great food and relaxed much.

Great little place to stay, but potentially difficult parking. It's two sharp narrow right turns uphill on uneven surfaces. If you have a low car or large vehicle I would recommend parking on the street, which does have limited space.

Adorable cozy outdoor space. Easy access to downtown nightlife and eating. Thoughtful touches in decorations. Just an overall delight!

Lovely old school charm. Outdoor space is inviting and peaceful, tucked away like a secret garden! Already booked another stay...

Delightful spot to stay. Super quiet, yet less than 5 minutes from downtown. No fuss access. Cozy decor, great privacy. Would definitely re-book.

I was in town for a training at UNC Asheville Police Department. This apartment was perfect for my needs. It was close to the department which made getting there easy. It was in a quiet neighborhood that allowed me decent rest after a long day of travel (first day) and a long day of training (second day).
I walked from the apartment to Luella's BBQ for dinner the first night. My dinner was great and recommend for anyone staying.
The only thing I was concerned about was watching TV at the end of the evening. I'm a night shift employee so I keep late/weird hours. With the AC window unit on, I had to turn the TV up louder. I was worried that I was bothering the residents upstairs.
I've already discussed coming back here with my husband because we both want to explore the area and visit the botanical gardens.
Thank you for a great stay!

Overall enjoyed the location, great directions but unable to assess Wi-Fi but with busy weekend course the need for Wi-Fi wasn't needed. Good recommendations for food options.

This apartment was so surprisingly unique, the online pictures don't do it justice! Perfect for a weekend getaway with a small kitchen and VERY comfortable bed - it has everything you need including a full coffee and tea service, which was really appreciated each morning. Easy to get an Uber, close to everything - I would stay here again.

My friend and I stayed for one night. Everything was just as pictured and the process was extremely easy. Very cozy and clean. We are both females in our 20s so I’m very cautious about where we stay, felt very safe and comfortable. I would definitely recommend!

Location is close to downtown, yet in a cute, quiet neighborhood.
Hosts gave very concise information and responded promptly to questions.

The bed was extremely comfortable. Convenient to the Biltmore and downtown.

I am thankful for a good location, but the property is a bit more worn and torn than pictures and descriptions indicate.
The top thing is that the "daybed" is not a bed at all. It is a wooden piece of furniture with a thin cushion-like thing on top. A young child might be the only kind of person who would be able to sleep on the "daybed". An accurate and updated property listing should say that this is a one-bed VRBO.
The unit also smells like mold, and water damage is apparent, which would not be good for those with allergies.
The kitchen cupboards were a bit sparse, and very disorganized. Cleaners had not put the items away in the cupboards with any sense of organization. The tea kettle still had water inside it, so I did not use it. There is a very old, worn hotplate, but there's no room to use it, so we did not. A more accurate listing of the kitchen would be helpful. (Another example - the fridge is very tiny - not a full-sized fridge.)
I'm not saying this is a horrible place to stay. Some of the things that we found inconvenient might not be issues for some people. There are some nice aspects. The bed is huge, and comfy. The walk downtown was easily doable (though not safe to walk back at night under the bridge) But I would have liked to have a more accurate description of what we were getting into in terms of the house.

The property was clean and pleasant to stay at. The host gave great instructions on how to get to the property and gave plenty of advance notice on checking in and details needed to access, find, and enjoy the property. We stayed in the downstairs unit which was nice and easy to access. However, there is an upstairs unit. The property has beautiful wood floors but the wood floors heighten the sound of the footsteps of the occupants above. All things considered, this is a great property and I'd be happy to stay here again.

Good Instructions to find the place. Bed was comfortable and attention to the little details was there (Bottle of red wine, chocolate candy for 2, lavender oil by bedside…lovely.) The room smelled strongly Musty, walloped the nose upon entry and was always there. Had bought a ribeye to grill in the romantic yard. The grill was full of cobwebs and the grates filthy. The featured fire pit area was just sad, rusty and worn out. The couch was a wooden devon with some furry pillows…fine for a 16 yr old, not a relaxing space for an adult. Never again.

Overall great experience- super comfortable bed.
Our only negative comment would be it that it could use a little more ventilation- but the a/c running for a bit worked great.

One night in Asheville
Super cute place. Convenient location yet nicely tucked away in a wooded neighborhood. Wish the weather would have been better so we could have enjoyed the backyard, but we stayed nice and cozy after returning from an evening out. Hosts were extremely responsive. Definitely would book again.

Fantastic little spot. Not too far from downtown attractions- long walk/ short Uber. We will definitely stay again when in Asheville.

LOVE!!!!
This little studio is the perfect place for a getaway. Less than a $7 Uber to the heart of downtown. The hosts were available through messaging and got back to me relatively quickly. The only downfall is that you can hear every little step and every little sound from the upstairs apartment. But over all, a great experience!

Asheville apartment with fun colors
funky vintage apartment that was quiet and comfortable. Loved the nice touches of flowers and chocolates. Spacious with homey touches. (Parking was a trifle tight for maneuvering larger SUV if more than one other car is in the parking area.)

Cute place, convenient location
Overall the place was nice and communication with the owner was excellent. Location was great.
Would be 5 stars but the single bed shown was really more of a couch than a twin bed.

Hidden Gem
This is a lovely boho chic apartment thats romantic and peaceful at the same time. Its a bit of a hike downtown but totally worth it. Also easy to drive anywhere in Asheville easily. We will surely stay here when we return!

Perfect Vacation Rental
This little bohemian jewel in Asheville was exactly what you hope for. Every thoughtful detail is present - whole leaf teas, plentiful Keurig pods with real cream, clean dish towels, comfy king bed with nice linens, lovely bath toiletries, fluffy towels, great wifi and tv - and all super clean and cute! The apartment is conveniently located within a short drive or car service to anywhere in town.
I had a couple questions during our stay (P.S. the blow dryer is in the bedroom closet), and the hostess was quick to respond and most pleasant. My only tiny suggestion would be the upstairs residents remove their shoes while downstairs tenants are on premises. However, the quality of this charming, well-appointed place more than makes up for a little noise overhead. Highly recommend!

Great stay
The property was just as listed. Super comfortable bed, lovely linens, and within walking distance of downtown for anyone in reasonable physical shape.

watch that first step!
Bed was very comfortable and linens were also nice. Beyond that, it smelled a little musty and the sink was loose. But the most dangerous part is the first step in. There needs to be a large sign warning of the step down when you come through the door.

A journey to Asheville
Oh my goodness! What a wonderful trip and great accommodations! This rental is a gem! My daughter and I wanted a quaint, safe, place to stay that was walkable to downtown Asheville. This was just the place. It was so nice, great decor, full kitchen (although i cooked very little), comfortable lush bedding, vintage bathroom that worked really well, lots of storage, great wifii and a fantastic hostess. She had coffee, tea stocked, cream filled croissants that were perfect! She gave great tips for the area and was available if questions. Will be back to Asheville and will be staying right back here! Thanks April 💗

Adorable, quaint studio! Great location!
My husband and I came to Asheville to celebrate my birthday and I was so happy to have found this little gem! Great location, close to lots of shops and restaurants and only minutes to downtown! April
Was easy to work with and very responsive! She made the studio super cozy w lots of great touches.. like the delish almond horns which I think I ate all of!! The lemongrass diffuser, the coffee etc! The only thing I would recommend is maybe getting a sound machine as you can hear the tentants above pretty clearly - we actually had a travel one as I am light sleeper, so it may not affect others. I would definitely recommend this studio and would stay again for sure!!

Adorable Studio for a Weekend Getaway
Loved this adorable little studio! Greatly decorated. It's super convenient to downtown Asheville, just $6 uber ride to the awesome breweries and hot spots. Bed was really comfortable and loved having the outdoor fire pit access. Only complaint was there is no TV. But otherwise, we'd totally book again! Thanks for having us.
