Nicely renovated old building in gentrifying area on busy intersection. Lots of noise from the road and minimal parking (1 spot if you can find one) Rooms are small! No table to eat or entertain at. Limited seating in living room (seating for 4 people max) Bedroom with attached bath has a king bed with only 8" on the side and end to get into bed! It also blocked the closet door making it difficult to access or hang anything up. A queen bed would still be tight but at least allow access to both sides of the bed. The attached bath was super small but manageable. All of the light switches are also behind doors so they have to be closed to access. Kitchen was reasonably stocked. The downtown area was about a mile walk.

This property was perfect for a quick girls trip to Asheville! The location to downtown was excellent and just a quick Uber/Lyft ride. The neighborhood felt safe during the day and night.

Walking distance to all!

We loved it. Location is terrific, super clean. Maybe more towel hooks in the smaller bathroom? We lived staying there, and Bone & Broth is a terrific restaurant. Enjoyed the bakery, also.

Nice small place, no dining table. Area looked questionable w some of the people walking around, but we didn't have any issues.

Conformtable and very clean. Within easy walking distance to downtown and felt safe, even at night. Would definitely return!

The apartment was clean and well organized. It was located in a pleasant neighborhood above a cute little bakery.
some things we noticed:
**The heating great in hallway was coming down.
**The window in the master bathroom was left open by the previous tenants which was not realized for 2 days.
**The linens for the master bath was located in the closet which was not easy to reach. A small supply should be left in the bathroom. The other bathroom had a shelf over the toilet which I would suggest putting into the master bath to store these linens.
**My group likes to play games but there was no table setup for us to use except the coffee table, which was uncomfortable. A small foldable table and chairs might alleviate this problem for other tenants.
Overall it was a very comfortable apartment and would recommend it to others.

We were in the area for a weekend gymnastics meet. The property was in a convenient location to everything we needed. We did not spend a lot of time in the rental because we were exploring all beautiful Asheville and surrounding areas have to offer when we had free time. Easy to get to from the highway, good communication with property management, fantastic bakery and restaurants on the first level are the icing on the cake of this rental! We were comfortable and enjoyed our stay.

The unit is in a fantastic location with wonderful food options underneath! The only negative thing about the unit is the noise from the street, otherwise it is a very nice spot.

Our VRBO at the Historic St James Building was delightful. Our trip was a girls trip (three women 50+) so we wanted to be close to downtown, but not IN downtown. One of the bedrooms was very small and you had to squeeze around to get to the other side of the bed, but it was manageable. Other than that it was perfect.

We loved our weekend stay to celebrate our friend’s birthday. The apartment was clean, nicely decorated, and located close to everything we wanted (hikes, restaurants, breweries). The beds were comfortable and the shower water pressure was perfect! Thank you so much for the thoughtful details — coffee, sugar and creamers. Just what we needed!

loved this location, easy stay, easy access, etc

Location was close to everything. Inside of condo not as clean or updated as it looked like online. Furniture was not good quality or clean. Ceiling fans made noise and bathroom vent fans were not working.

We loved this renovated space. The rooms were all exactly as pictured. It had all of the supplies you could need while staying. It was such a handy location with easy parking. We loved having City Bakery downstairs – they did a great job!
We had one issue while staying, and they came to fix it immediately.
When we come back, we will absolutely stay here.

We chose to take advantage of the great food and luxury spas in the area. The experience of this stay was exceptional. While the area is rather busy it’s still very peaceful. I will definitely stay here again.

Lovely location, nice apartment, very clean and just what we needed. Access to downtown east, and the bonus of The City Bakery and Bone & Broth restaurants on our doorstep. Great visit all round👍 Russ, Manjit & Natasha

This unit was great for a few nights away with my adult daughters. Convenient, clean & spacious.

Great property just outside the bustle of downtown, but close enough to take it all in. Having the bakery and restaurant downstairs was a great convenience. Made for a great stay.

The apartment was in a very convenient location (close to downtown), with restaurants within walking distance. Quiet, quaint, and comfortable place to stay!

Such a great apartment! It’s much larger than the pix make it look. Parking was easy. Since it’s an older building, you can hear other tenants and street noise when you’re quiet - might be tough for light sleepers. The water takes a long time to heat up - I’m guessing the water heater is waaaay below. All the paper products are thin and scratchy - so bring your own Bounty, Puffs, and Angel Soft. The stairs are no joke - 21 to 2nd floor and 17 more to the third. Pack for no elevator. Loved our stay. Comfortable. Safe. Enjoyable.

Price and location generally good for a weekend in Ashville. It is close to everything. This unit doesn’t include any kitchen table/ chairs to sit at which wouldn’t be as noticible if the family room furniture were more comfortable. The couch cushions are very wore down and uncomfortable to sit on for much time. The corner chair had a broken leg that needs some attention. We had an issue with the kitchen sink which was responded to very quickly by the property management and fixed right away. I think if the living room furniture were updated, it would be A-OK. Be prepared to do steps with luggage. It was fine for our group but could be a challenge for someone that has difficulty with carrying up steps. Our stay was satisfactory since we spent most of the days venturing out.

Had a perfect stay. Location was great, clean and appreciated the 2 kings for 4 adults. Thanks!

This property was in a great location, was extremely clean, comfy, and had good check in and our procedures. This is located on the third floor with no elevator and the stairs were kind of steep. Definitely got our workout in. Overall amazing experience. Will definitely visit again!

We really enjoyed our stay! The apartment had everything we needed and having 2 king size beds was a plus. It was a quick drive to downtown shopping / eating.
It’s located above a restaurant and bakery. One night we just walked downstairs to dinner at Bone and Broth and had some pastries / coffee from City Bakery.
Would highly recommend this stay.

Property has a great location close to downtown Asheville, and host provided very clear detail about check-in which made it all very seamless. Place was also very clean upon arrival. Would not recommend for more than 4 (or 5 if someone wants to sleep on the actual couch cushion). Pull out bed was literally unable to be slept on - there was no spot on the mattress that did not have extremely painful springs sticking out, and the bottom tilted up 45 degrees from where your head was. Tiny tube of shampoo/conditioner/lotion provided in one bathroom only. Property was also not stocked with simple essentials that most other rentals are (cutting board, salt, pepper, olive oil, etc). Best part of the property was definitely the location!

We had a great stay and loved the property. We were 2 couples so the two baths with 2 king beds were perfect. We loved having the door open facing downtown. About a 20 minute walk to the downtown area and about a $8-11.00 Lyft ride. Great restaurants downstairs on the street level.

Great stay
Just spent a week here and it was lovely. Very cute place, and great location. About a mile walk to the central downtown and above a nice bakery and restaurant.
Bed was very comfortable.
Only negative is there are no cooking utensils like spatulas and no mixing bowls or big bowls (I mixed my salad in a cooking pot lol). Also no dresser for clothes, but there is closet space.
Overall a great stay.

A good value.
Nice place for the money. Good internet, clean. The cafe was lovely. But the stairs were annoying when we were bringing out luggage up. It's close to downtown, but still requires driving and parking.

Great location and clean!
4.9 out of 5 Stars. I would invest in some new pillows, that's my only suggestion. Everything else was great!

Great apartment within a short walking distance from downtown. The place was spotless and decor was really fun and comfortable. We tried both the restaurant and bakery below and they were super! Would recommend d for sure.

In search of retirement
This rental was clean and very nicely decorated. The living space/ kitchen is roomy, but there is no space to acually sit and have a meal. The king sized beds were very comfotable. Hwever the rooms were not big enough to accommodate a king sized bed and a dresser. There is no eleveator so just know you will be hiking your belongings up the stairs. The only draw back to this stay had nothing at all to do with the rental itself. It is on a busy street and the DOT had put vehice counting strips in front of the building, creating noise until traffic died down after 11pm.

Great friend adventure
Condo was super clean and great access to bakery downstairs. Easy walk into town! Kinda small bedrooms but not that big of a deal.

Mod, comfy rental with just a few quirks
We spent five nights at the Charlotte Street property, and enjoyed. It’s compact, but makes good use of space. Location is excellent: a ten-minute walk to Harris-Teeter and Trader Joe’s, and near one of the interstate connectors and downtown. Laundry in the common area is convenient and easy.
There are just a few quirks renters should be aware of, which detract from the overall experience. First, there is really only one side to enter the master bed: those sleeping on the wall side must effectively climb over their partner to get up. There is only one reading light for two bedrooms, and no easy way to give light to the wall-side master bed. Master spigot is not attached to the sink and is difficult to maneuver with one hand. Finally, hot water takes 45-60 seconds to reach the spigot, longer in the master bath.
These didn’t ruin the whole experience, but did make it a less than perfect stay.

Asheville August trip
We thought that the place was fairly nice but had no table and chairs to eat at also no towel racks in the bathrooms and one should know that is three floors up and no elevator.noisy most of the time definitely could use a little more amenities to make it much better.Beds we’re comfortable.

Great stay—one suggestion
Loved the location, beds comfy, nicely decorated throughout. Great bakery downstairs. One suggestion: there is no table or bar to have a comfortable place to eat in. With all the kitchen appliances, etc, it would be nice to have two bar stools and a bar or perhaps a small bistro set. Otherwise, fantastic.
