Lovely cute cosy room
Bit expensive
8.0
Nice decor
Really comfy bed
Enough room to hang up clothes
Friendly staff
You get 20% off in the pub (we didn't realise this until second day though)
Quiet road and you don't hear much noise from the room
Less than 5 min walk to station
Loads of shops and bars nearby
The temperature in the room was very hot and it was only 20c outside so I can't imagine what the room temp feels like when the weather is hotter, there is a good fan in the room but it was a bit too hot for us
The room was a bit small
Even though the decor was nice, the shower was a little grubby and could do with a deep clean and resealing but other than that we had a pleasant stay

Room was nicely decorated and clean. Bed was comfy. Happy that a fan was included in the room as there is no air con. Staff nice and friendly. We ate downstairs in the pub and got 20% off food bill due to being a guest. Water bottles provided in room, plus teas/coffee station
Rooms a little warm, but a fan provided (summer visit).

The single room was small as expected, but extremely comfortable and with everything you might need. It felt cosy and it was very clean. The check-in was quick and I spent a very restful night there. I didn't have any issues with noise from other rooms or from the street so that was great! It's a busy area so I wasn't sure... The area is urban and there are a quite a few characters around but I felt safe and didn't have any issues at all. That's Hackney! ;) Recommend this little hotel over a really nice pub below.

Lovely rooms, well equipped with everything you might need.. Staff very friendly.
with it being a very old property the floor boards were very creaky. Noise outside at night.

A short walk from Hackney Central overground station and located on the High Street. We were visiting Tottenham Vale football stadium for a Beyoncé concert so it was in a great location. The room was quiet and very comfortable and clean. Perfect for what we needed. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Steep stairs up to the room so may not suit guests with mobility issues

I really enjoyed my stay at the Old Ship. On arrival I requested an upper floor room which was granted. I've stayed in pubs with rooms before and over the weekends they can be very noisy - but my room at the Old Ship was perfect - I heard nothing at all. The room was great - a full length mirror, plug points where you need them, a kettle with plenty of tea/coffee/milk and top-ups on request. Easy to use TV. It was spotlessly clean too and very well made up by the Housekeeper. Great shower. The area is very exciting and vibrant and very handily within a five minute walk of the Overground train station hub. I loved my stay - thank you so much!
The only thing that would have made my stay 100% enjoyable would have been an offer of help with my bag - as it was I managed but it was a little awkward up the narrow and winding staircase and I'm not getting any younger :-) (I was offered help with this on checkout by a different member of staff).

The property is in a good location for transport links in and around London.
My only issue and this is nothing to do with the property, but as a big guy I found the en-suite slightly small.

location.. cleanliness of room, comfortable bed.. bottles of water and tea and coffee in room.
nothing to dislike

A very cosy room and it was nice and quiet once the pub closed which was surprising for central London. The pub was perfect for getting a meal and a drink and the staff were very friendly. It was well located for my work the next day.
There is basically no WiFi. You can use the guest one but only for logging on to Facebook. I had intended to do some work in the evening but couldn’t so that was a big drawback. Other than that it was okay.

The shining diamond of this place is the pub. Such a great and cozy spot in Hackney! Greta food, great beer and great staff. Made the whole stay for me.
My room was smaller than I expected, but manageable.

The Old Ship Inn was a great hotel in Hackney, with a trendy and comfortable room and a brilliant location close to the station and to nice food and drink spots, and parks.
4.0
Location. Comfortable bed
Toilet door didn’t close or lock. Bathroom floor was dirty on arrival. Loud, thumping music went on until 1.15am on Thursday night so we weren’t able to sleep until after this time. A group of intoxicated people sat underneath our bedroom window between 1.30 and 4am shouting angrily, throwing glass bottles with a speaker. The quiet lane seems to be a hang out for drinking after hours so we didn’t get any sleep.
Staff weren’t very friendly.

This was such a cosy place to stay on my trip to London and was in a great location. Right by the overground and it's off the main street so not so loud, but easy to walk to a lot of places. The rooms were small but fit me and my lugauge comfortably, and there was a great selection of coffee and tea. Really comfy beds and cute decor in the rooms. Honestly couldn't have asked for anything better!

Location. right behind the Hackney empire!
creaky floorboards

The room was nice, the bed comfortable, and the bathtub is huge !
Staff at the pub is lovely and welcoming.
It is situated really close to the bus stop and the overground station so it’s really easy to go to London.
The hair dryer ! the cord is so small, it’s impossible to use it in front of a mirror.
Quite noisy in the morning (noises from the street below).
