Wonderful choice of continental breakfasts
A few glitches at first but all resolved very quickly!

Nice and friendly host, selection if breakfast items, separate living room

Location and size of the property was perfect for our needs. Owner made up sofa bed for our son & was informative of area including public transport etc.
Was informed breakfast included but was only fridge items, cooked breakfast had to pay £9.50 extra each if wanted! No electric frying pan as stated in welcome back. Cupboard drawers not fitted properly. Seal hanging off shower cubicle. Bathroom door stuck when closed as kitchen flooring raised. Glue on kitchen flooring where lino looked as though just stuck down. Cupboard doors sticky when opened. Flooring in living room area patchy. Fire exit blocked outside by rubbish & gate locked.

Lisa, the host amazing.
Lisa went out of her way to accommodate an early check in and was eternally grateful.
The lodge was a good size
Cold breakfast- but great variety.
Amazing location
A little too hot in the bedroom.
No sugar - not sure if an oversight or just not provided but would be a benefit if provided.

A long mirror would be useful

Everything we needed for a two-night stay in Cardiff. Leafy Radyr is only ten minutes from the train station and an easy journey into town/the Bay if you prefer to leave your car. An artisan bakery, shop, Italian restaurant and pub within walking distance. Lisa is lovely and helpful, beds comfortable and continental breakfast galore in the kitchenette.
Husband says he heard the traffic at night. We all slept like logs!

Nothing. It was great 👍

Everything I could think of for breakfast was supplied. Warm, cosy, comfortable. Robes, toiletries & hair tools supplied. Local info available. Super friendly hostess, felt very welcome.
Having to enter through the bedroom rather than through the lounge diner.
Property not gated, so worried about the dog going outside.

The breakfast was superb, everything was available for the breakfast, well stuffed and the location was very ideal, easy to get to our location and very close to the train station
No electric cooker to prepare our local meals because we came with some but that's fine😊

Cosy, comfortable and amazing breakfast offering, friendly host.

Good choice of cereals/yoghurts croissants etc. Gluten free provided as requested at booking.
The place smelt fresh & clean & no sign of previous dogs which was good.
There were 18 boxes of cereal. Many were duplicated & opened so not airtight.
Whilst home made mini jams were a lovely touch, some had already been part used.
The small outside area was artificial grass so unsuitable for my dog’s toileting. There was a green space just out of the drive & up the pavement though.

We liked everything we thoroughly enjoyed staying there and definitely would recommend friends to stay there

We'd had to change our plans, so at short notice we looked for something for a few days around (not only in) Cardiff, with breakfast, accessible by train. Radyr seemed to fit the bill for location, as we knew it had good transport links, and this property had a bit of a different look, with the independence of a free standing attached guest lodge and a continental breakfast.
Leading up to our arrival, host Lisa made sure to contact us and make sure she adjusted her arrangements to meet our check-in window, and make sure we could access the room if she was out ; on the day she was there to let us in and show us round, making us feel right at home, and giving us a few pointers about the locality.
The lodge was beautifully laid out and very clean, with comfortable, well-fitted, good-sized double-bed bedroom, spacious lounge with nice breakfast table - there is an L-shaped sofa which provides pull-out sleeping for families. The kitchen was nicely fitted with the necessities for simple self-catering, with fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle etc. Finally the small bathroom was shower only, but perfect for us.
The kitchen and fridge had been pre-stocked with simple pastries, bread, yogurts, milk, cereal, fruit and some of the hosts' home made jam amongst other things, which provides the continental breakfast (cooked in the main house can be ordered for extra).
The lodge is tucked in by the house, between a main(ish) road and primary school, but we weren't disturbed at all while sleeping, with the bedroom being quiet enough.
Radyr village is about a 10 min walk away, with a little pub, Italian restaurant and mini-market. A couple of minutes more down the hill is the railway station. This is well linked for a 20 min run to Cardiff, or otherwise to the Valleys or Caerphilly Castle.
Maybe some options between thinner and thicker duvets or complimenting blankets would have been good for changing seasons, as we got a bit warm, and had to adapt.
The other little maintenance point was taken on board and responded to immediately, thanks!

The location is so nice and the property itself is immaculately well kept. Our host, Lisa, was the nicest and most lovely host we’ve ever had. She was incredibly helpful, informative and was genuinely interested in making sure we were okay and happy with our stay.
She deserves all the credit in the world for our wonderful stay in this lodge. She had cereals and breakfast foods in the kitchen already for us; coffee in the presses and a stocked fridge too. The lodge itself is incredibly nice and cosy, and there was Sky Q in the sitting room which was lovely to see!
There were towels and bath robes left for us as well, and there are facilities in the kitchen to make your own food, and there’s a lovely little private garden beside the lodge to have some coffee in the mornings.
I couldn’t recommend this lodge enough. In such close proximity to a train station that brings you to Cardiff Central; if you’re travelling to Cardiff, then this is the place to stay.
There was nothing to dislike!

firstly Lisa the owner was there to greet us on arrival
arrival to greet us Lisa was really helpful and
very friendly a great host. the accommodation
was just right for our short stay.
it could do with a little work for example the toilet
door caught on the floor so was difficult to shut
and was noisy particularly during the night.

Accomodation is really great for a family with a bit noisy children. You have everything what you need before or after your trip around. Location is very convenient to visit even Cardiff or Brecon Beacons national park.
Just all the coincidences together. Property is close to the busy street and in those hot days when you need to have all door/window open, it was a bit noisy.

I loved how clean, well stocked, well equipped and cozy the accommodation was. Also loved the warmth with which the host (Lisa) welcomed us. She was very understanding, very helpful in all aspects. Will definitely recommend.
