Fantastic stay. Exceeded our expectations

This place is an absolute work of art, we stayed here for our anniversary weekend and I couldn’t have imagined a better spot.
A long 4x4 track to get in (probably 35 minutes from downtown Wellington along a bumpy unsealed road), so you will need a 4x4 to get here comfortably. Also, good to stock up on supplies since once you arrive you’ll want to stay.
Comfortable bed, amazing bath/shower. Seal colony literally in the doorstep, amazing shells and pāua diving, etc etc.
I almost don’t want to go on about how amazing this place was so I can come back again without it being booked up! Worth the adventure, beautiful in all weather, a wonderful place. Look forward to coming back.

My partner and I had three nights stay in this incredibly cosy Bach. The Views were amazing, waking up to the wave crashing is our kind of get away!! Great place to explore on our quad and soaked up the scenic views around us. comunicating with the owners was great! Would book again.

What an incredible place and we felt privileged to stay! We had an amazing time taking it all in. Loved the bach and was very inspired by the off-grid simplicity and functionality. We would base another trip around staying here in the future. Thanks so much for sharing ❤️

This was and amazing stay. The property was great, scenery breathtaking, and the seal colony took it to a whole new level. We'd happily return from Australia to visit again.

Wished we had of booked another night, great place to get away to re charge, fresh air, get into a good book, (the selection is fantastic).
Weather was stormy but that didnt matter at all. Would definitely book again.
Many thanks

Although the stay was very accommodating the last messages to the property owner went unanswered , we feel that maybe they weren't happy with our efforts to leave the property as tidy as we had found it anyhow ,
Value for money wasnt there im affraid .
My partner and i have stayed in many many different home stays and cabins around NZ this just wasnt value for money

The bach was amazing! The seclusion and scenery 10/10! The hosts were lovely and communicative. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. Thank you

Absolutely beautiful spot. Loved being able to relax and recharge. So nice seeing the ferries and cruise ships at night.
It was raining when we left so Steve & Chrissy met us on our way out with a remote for the gate so we didn't need to get out of the car to sort out the paddlock - awesome service.

Absolutely loved our stay, very remote and private.
Even though it was a harsh southerly it was so nice to rug up inside watching the ferru go past. We thoroughly recommend this beautiful place.

You really can’t say enough to do this place the justice it deserves. From any room, you look out and see nothing but beach, with the South Island in the distance. We saw more seals than people during our stay. You’re only a few kilometers from Wellington but it feels like you’re at the end of the world.
In the water, we were able to get paua, kina and crays or fish for dinner every day in under an hour. The waters are so rich, my wife gave me a “shopping list” before I got in the water.
This was easily our favorite place we’ve ever stayed.

Perfect accommodation in a perfect setting. What a fabulous Bach/lodge in a fantastic location. Even with the weather being windy, raining and grey we still had an amazing time. We absolutely love the accommodation and location and didn’t want to leave. The hosts have everything covered and we were immensely grateful for their attention to detail. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your amazing accommodation. JK & Helen

I had another wonderfully relaxing stay surrounded by stunning views. As weather changed to being a little chilly, it was great to light the fire which was set up ready to go. Thanks very much to Chrissy and Steve.

This place is magical, if you are wanting a tranquil and peaceful spot to rejuvenate then this is the place to go.
So close to the CBD but so far away, hidden in its own little bay with seals on your doorstep.
We wanted peace and quiet and it certainly provided us with that.
The Bach itself was perfect in every way, a fully equipped kitchen, beautiful bathroom and treasures scattered throughout, the fire place, even in summer provides the perfect ambiance.
We sat on the deck for HOURS thinking how lucky we are to be able to stay in a place like this.
Chrissy and Steve have created an amazing space and we will certainly be coming back

My only negative is I couldn't stay longer! I hope to 1 day be back. We didn't check in till very late due to flight delays but the hosts were so lovely and waited up for us to guide us to the Bach which was very much appreciated. Secluded, beautiful setting and luxury furnishings. Would love to revisit in winter and snuggle up by the fire :)

What a hidden gem. Property is even better than the photos. Gorgeous views. Falling asleep listening to the waves crashing. Absolute bliss and I can't wait to go back.

Spent another 2 days re-energizing and relaxing even though the weather wasn't the best how good is it that you can be in such a beautiful place on a windswept stormy day and be warm and snug in front of the fire and marvel at the awesome power of the ocean 20m from you. After staying here many times this has become our "thing". See you in summer. Thanks again Chrissy and Steve.

The whole experience was wonderful, from the instructions that guided us to our stay at this beautiful bach. We explored the surrounding area, watched the waves crash against the rocks, enjoyed the warm and cozy home atmosphere and even got to meet one of the owners. Would definitely recommend.

We never realised how long we could sit and watch the waves; the seals fishing, the stunning sun sets. Challenging walks so close, and even took a quick dip in the ocean after a 3 hour walk in the hills. Next time we want to stay longer.

What a gem, filled with interesting books, and things to look at, a visual feast both in and outdoors. The hosts have created something very special, being totally off grid and immersed in nature. Our kind of place. Loved waking up to glorious sunrises and sitting watching the seals playing in the waves just a few metres away. And those sunsets! Wow! A magical spot. Thank you for sharing it!

It was just lovely to stay in a very comfortable and cosy bach by the sea, watching the waves, the wildlife, the sky, the sunsets, and the shipping, not to mention walking round the coast in both directions as far as we wanted to go. Chrissy and Steve were really helpful

Great directions to find the property. The property is a little like Platform 9¾ in Harry Potter, so many unique things to find in every little cubby. The property has everything you need and a view from every room. From Sea lions at your front door to Black Oyster Catcher birds lazily catching sun rays on the rocks. It is a place to take a cup of tea to bed, turn off the lights and watch the Ferry pass by in the night. It is a very special place. Looking forward to revisiting. kindest regards D
