About this cabin rental

You will have access to a child’s playground, 5 tier pond and campfire area in this lovely community. This home has internet, Direct TV and air conditioning for those hot summer days and heat for the coldest of nights. Enjoy the Weber Grill on the wraparound deck for those delicious steaks or burgers. Rocking chairs and swing will lull you to sleep as you listen to the birds sing. What more could you want for a perfect vacation stay?

Main level: Living room has vaulted ceiling with floor to ceiling stone fireplace and an additional log storage space so you don’t have to go outside each time you want to replenish the warm fire. Large 55” LED TV allows you to enjoy your favorite programs which can be seen from the living room to the kitchen/dining room area. Double doors exit to the covered deck from living room. Enjoy the fully stocked kitchen with island for your meal preparation. A separate dining room table accommodates 6 is next to the kitchen, plus 2 bar stools at the kitchen island.
There is a Queen-sized bed that looks out through double doors to the trees and gives you access to the main covered deck. A 47” LED TV is mounted on the wall for your enjoyment. A second bedroom with a King size and fully remodeled bath completes this floor.

Upper level: Large master bedroom with King-sized bed, relaxing recliner chair, desk and 50” LED TV are here for your convenience. Master bath includes double sink, walk in shower, garden tub plus walk in closet. Loft has a reading/relaxing space area that overlooks the main living room.

Lower level: Puzzle/card playing room with exit to large one car garage is on this floor. There also are a bedroom with 2 twin beds. Full bathroom is included. Washer and dryer plus iron/ironing board and clothes folding table are also here.

PETS: Only 2 dogs allowed, up 40lbs with a $100 pet-fee each.

Firewood Notice: Not all wood-burning fireplaces will provide firewood at the property. We can have firewood delivered to the property per request, we offer 1/4 cord for $100 or 1/2 cord for $180. Please order ahead before your arrival.

The Smoky Mountain Retreat at Eagle’s Nest subdivision does not permit motorcycles or trailers on the mountain.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The management co. wasn't good about returning phone calls. They did respond to email. Issues were delt with immediately with the owner who was in town. Very nice and accomadating. Single beds in the cabin were unacceptable, too creaky to sleep on. Decor needed updating. Only 1 blanket for entire cabin. We had to buy a blanket and some good pillow, which the owner did reimburse for. The trees needed to be trimmed, the view was blocked. Lots of bees in the house. Really liked the floor layout.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our stay but the driveway was very difficult to navigate. The cabin needed a little more cleaning. Im a small woman and hated the sink! I couldnt reach the lever to turn on the water! Ridiculous! The 3 floors were a challenge but i knew about them when i bookedthe cabin. The very best thing about the cabin was the wraparound porch which made up almost fir the challenges!

Unfortunately we had to vacate the home because of bats inside the bedrooms. The rental company was very unapologetic and did not handle this situation properly, refusing to put our family in a more appropriate home because of “money” they would lose. Our family would never use the Smoky Mountain Retreat company again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful time with our two small kids at the cabin. Everything was clean and well appointed, just as described. The kids enjoyed the foosball, air hockey, and extra room to play. It had beautiful views and was in a good location. We drove to two hiking areas within 30-45 minutes. It was also easy to get to nearby Waynesville. We navigated the steep and windy hills and driveway up to the cabin okay and it was nice to be able to park in a garage. I would recommend it!

The cabins are comfortable and have the amenities that you need. We had an issue with the volume of the TV in the main room not working was checked but not fixed while we were there(however there are other TVs in the cabin that worked)

We had a wonderful stay at the Babbling Brook. Not too far up the mountain, but had a beautiful view! We enjoyed our stay and the cabin was very spacious! We would have loved an outdoor dining table, but other that that there was everything you could possibly need. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking essentials!

Loved the wood burning fireplace, but the insert is rather small for such a huge fireplace and 1/2 the wood we paid extra for was wet (which made it hard to burn) so we weren't able to use it all. We came in hopes for snow and it did snow about 3-5"! Our plans were stay in, but the driveway was plowed and salted the morning after the snow if we did need to get out. The garage was nice touch for rental-didn't have to clean snow off vehicle. We would definitely stay here again. Suggestions: new pans and more comfortable living room furniture (the furniture in the loft was very comfortable though).

Planned on staying up in the mountains for the long weekend to have a getaway and watch some college football. The site listed this house had Direct TV, so I made the assumption that it had espn and other sports channels! Well I was wrong! The owner didn’t have one sports channel as part of the package, not even just espn, so I had to watch football on my cellphone! They should list on the site that they don’t have sports packages! I would not have rented the house had I known that! For $228 a night, you would think the owner could afford a sports package. The property managers were great however and personally called the owner to see if they would add it but he refused! So beware... if you love watching sports, this house may not be for you!
