I stayed for 3 days and 2 nights. The host when I first checked in came across friendly and approachable. Although I never saw him again after check in. The accommodation is in a great location right on the edge of the sandy beach and only a short 2 min drive from the northern point.
First night something happened to the aircons power. Myself and the people staying next to me lost all air conditioning and running water. There were still lights on in the outside areas and the other units seemed to have power. Tried to contact the manager but no reply at all, even 24hours later still no reply and he never bothered checking in. The other unit had to spend the night in their car with the air con running so their kids could sleep. 2nd night we all had air con and running water but local kids were setting of home made cannons in front of the unit all afternoon in the middle of the accommodation grounds. And the local dogs sat outside barking and fighting all night right outside the accommodation.

We liked the remote location. We had hut next to the sea. The food was excellent and was prepered according to our requests (2 persons are vegetarians and 2 person sea food lovers).

This is the perfect place to unwind, relax and escape from the world. You're staying right on the beach with the most epic sunsets you can watch from your bed in a chalet and just fall asleep to the waves. Literally some of the best nights sleep we had in a long time. Romeo the owner was so kind and welcoming, he made us feel safe and provided wonderful service while we were there. The breakfast and dinner were both so good, cheap seafood and some of the best we've had in Asia! (been travelling for 4 years) Prices are really good too for what you get. Would 100% recommend this place to anyone who likes the quiet beach life away from everything.
That we had to leave.

This place is amazing! The owners do everything to make you feel at home, nothing is to much.
The owner organized a snorkeling trip, he showed us the most beautiful spots. We saw turtles and the coral was so beautiful.
The food was delicious, I recommend it to vegetarians.👌
The owners did so much for us, we just can not explain how much!
We became totally zen and enjoyed being away from al the stress.
Thank you for this amazing experience!!!
There is no wifi and almost no reception for mobile internet, we didn't mind at all but keep this in mind when you book this amazing place.

Romeo from Tammoyo is a very kind and friendly person. He took so much care of me which is very thoughtful. I was treated very well. It is such a nice place to take a rest because there is no internet only the sea and you. I spent 3days there reading a book and swimming.
The food is super delicious. Better than m ost restaurants in Malaysia. Normally there are 2 main dish, 1 vegetable dish, rice, fruit and juice. Near 20rm. And seafood is also quite cheap here. You should try lobsters. If you ask Romeo what you want to eat he will manage it for you.
He will give you a pick-up service from the ferry terminal to the guest house which is 30rm for round trip.
Dogs are so nice and clever that they never climb on the table or the chalet. And the sunset is so beautiful.
One thing you should know is that the price for the meal is same whether you ask for less dish or not. Just think that as a service charge for preparing the meal for you.

I never make time for reviews but this place deserves it. I booked 1 night, stayed 3, wish I could live there...Amazing location, beautiful quiet beach (and ok with beach campfires), massive portions of delicious homemade food at super reasonable price (easily accommodated vegetarian but would love to serve you fresh seafood), comfy and safe place (solo female traveller here and felt 100% comfortable at all times), many activities depending on your wishes. One of the best snorkelling locations I've ever seen (Belize has nothing compared to Banggi island!!). Best of all, I felt treated as a guest/friend rather than a source of cash. Host Romeo really went out of his way to make me happy. Cannot say enough good things....just go for yourself and you will be amazed
Its perfect now. Visit before everyone else finds out about it.

Right on the beach. Super quiet. Had the entire Long Beach to myself. stayed in beach hut and while simple was very enjoyable. the are tarps to drop down if you want to enclose but I just left it open. Owner brought me a nice mattress, pillows and blanket to sleep with. Meals generous and made with love. Attentive owner. Boat trip up the nearby river was nice. constant sweeping efforts keeps grounds looking really nice. Ferries in either direction to/from Banggi twice/day. Contact owner at phone listed and he’ll meet you at the ferry for transport.
No wifi but that was part of the charm. owner working on getting wifi so that may soon change. Owner can drive to spot on island for signal I’m sure if you ask if you need to check in.

Why do people go in 5 stars hotel when they can be at Tammoyo ?
Tammoyo has nothing to envy to big resorts.
It has everything the luxurious hotels are trying to propose.
You can sleep in a chalet on the beach with proper mattress or hammocks, but my girlfriend and I decided to take a bungalow with a chilling area on the roof. Both options are literally 5m from the sea. You fall asleep with the sounds of the soft waves crashing on the beach and open the door in the morning on a 2km beach just to yourself.
Romeo and his wife Citi are great cooks. Every morning, a colorful, tasty and filling breakfast was brought to our personal table right next to our bungalow. Lunch and diner are always 2 mains dishes of fresh seafood fished around the island or shells picked up directly on the beach. A side of vegetables and rice also come on the table. It was by far the best food we had in Borneo.
After relaxing in the beautiful and clean garden or on the beach, or if you have done any of the activity proposed by Romeo such as visiting his bee farms, snorkeling or climbing the highest mountain of the island, you can finish your day by enjoying the stunning sunsets in the company of the lovely dogs and cats always keen to play.
*** Few advices:
There is no ATM on the island, the closest one is in Kudat. Make sure to come with enough cash to pay for your meals and any extra nights as you will surely ask for one. There are no other place to buy meals, so you will always end up eating at Tammoyo. Sea is the main source of food on the island. We felt pretty lucky to be able enjoy all this fresh seafood . However, if you have any issue with seafood, Romeo can figure out something for you.
Arrange a pick up at the jetty with Romeo by contacting Tammoyo place on Facebook.
If you wish to enjoy a beer at the end of the day while watching the sunset, you should probably buy some in Kudat has you won’t be able to find some on the island.
Banggi Island is not a touristic place at all.
Everything was absolutely perfect

We liked everything! Location next to the beach away from everything, a lot of space for kids to run around, but also to stay safe inside of resort. Food was delicious, the best we have had since we left home 4 months ago.
We really enjoyed searching for the clams, swimming in the sea and playing in the sand also playing with the cats and just resting in our shelter. And it was great experience to see stingless bees and try the honey from beehive.
But above all Romeo and his wife were great hosts, they arranged everything for us.
We had great time and would definitelly recommend Tommoyos Place.
