First time in Nags Head and we loved it and the house was perfect for two families with young kids. We loved the pool and the proximity to the beach. Only downside was we didn’t realize it didn’t come with linens but there were plenty of places to buy linens nearby. Would def visit again, thanks !!

Very very clean home. The layout was perfect for our family of 7. It was a difficult hike to the beach for me though. Not so much the distance, but was an uphill walk in the sand part of the way. But the pool was wonderful!

Off the hook was perfect for my families vacation. Location was absolutely perfect for walking to beach, to the grocery store, to shops, and Red Drum restaurant was right there too as well as a few other restaurants . A short walk to Dowdy Park and of course 1 block to my home made it great to see everyone. The pool and yard were a plus! Highly recommend this home.

This home was perfect for our family vacation (5 adults and 3 kids ages 9, 7, and 6).
The weather was perfect for all but one day. It was a short walk to the beach so we could easily run back to the house if we needed anything. A few of us surfed in the mornings (rented a board from Outer Surf). When the kids had enough sun and sand play, we'd head back to the house, rinse off in the outdoor shower (this made it really easy to keep the house and pool clean!), and take a dip in the pool. We also played badminton and threw a softball around in the yard (we brought all the equipment). When we got hot, we'd just jump in the pool - it was the perfect setup! The day it rained, we played games (the house has several and we brought a few) and watched movies.
We walked to Booty Treats (appreciated that they had non-dairy options as a few of us have dairy allergies), Red Drum Grill, SeaGreen Gallery (we visited multiple times to take in the zen garden in the back), Traveler's Moon (my 9 year old loved the crystals), Front Porch Cafe for coffee and breakfast treats, and Christmas Mouse (my mother was in holiday heaven). We also played mini golf, just a short drive away.
The house was very clean and well stocked. We found everything we needed in the kitchen or laundry room. It was great to have multiple decks and places to relax inside/outside.
We are so grateful to have found this gem! We definitely plan to come again and highly recommend!

We have stayed in this house four times. The weather was fantastic. The ocean was nice and warm, which is unusual for June. The pool was great very clean not too much chlorine in it. The house is always clean and well appointed. We have no complaints. There was a small plumbing problem while we were there and I contacted the host and she had a plumber out the very next morning to fix it. She was very attentive and very responsive, we enjoy our stay there so much will be back next year

Shopping and restaurants all in close distance to the property, but the house has everything you'll need if you plan to cook at home. The pool is a great alternative for swimming and laying out too. Sunrises and moonrises were awesome in September. The location was great!

We had the best time at ‘Off the Hook’. Not only was the decor adorable, but it was spotless! I have used VRBO to book most of our beach rentals. Normally I spent the first few hours having to clean and wipe down the house (total clean freak here!). Jessica’s home was the first one that I did not feel like I had to. It was spotless!! It had everything we needed and I was really able to relax the first moment we arrived. Jessica herself was also lovely, she was incredibly responsive. Best rental at the beach!

Our family had a wonderful vacation in OBX and enjoyed staying at Off the Hook. We especially enjoyed the swimming pool and the beach which is right across the street. Off the Hook was the perfect fit for our family OBX trip. We arrived to find a very clean and organized beach house that more than exceeded our needs and expectations. The family room/large kitchen/dining room combo was perfect for us to mingle, eat and play games. We also loved the pool on warmer days when it was too hot to go to the beach. The house had many areas to relax in the sun or shade, and to find time to yourself away from others if needed. We have no complaints at all. We loved this home and look forward to a return trip soon. There are many things to do in the area. Our teens enjoyed mini golf and trips to Booty Treats for ice cream. Thanks again for a great family beach week.

My husband, daughter and my 15 yr. old grandson had an awesome week at “Off the Hook”! There was nothing we wanted for there. Really, had I know what was furnished by the owner, I really could have just bought groceries and left other essentials at home because everything was there!
This beach home is above awesome and I mean that from my heart! I am a neatness and cleanliness “old lady” 😀 and “Off the Hook” was that kind of a home! Just unpack your clothes and be ready for a carefree and relaxing week.

Off the Hook is such a beautiful home! The beach decor in this home is so pretty, furniture is very comfortable and the house was so well stocked, especially in the kitchen. There’s some great stores within walking distance and the beach access is very close (though the dunes will give you a good leg workout!). The pool was very clean and we greatly enjoyed it every day. There was plenty of space for the 10 of us and we loved our stay! Jessica was a wonderful host!

We LOVE Off the Hook. It’s one of our happy places without a doubt. This was our 3rd stay now and it was perfect as alway! The owner is absolutely amazing and makes the stay even more welcoming. We’ll be back next year if dates line up for us and if not, we’ll look forward to being back in 2024. We are Off the Hook regulars for as long as they’ll have us. Can’t wait for our next stay already.

Amazing
This is the second summer in a row that we have stayed at this property. The property is spotless very clean when we arrive easy to find places to be quiet by yourself and also join in with your family or friends who are with you. Across the street from the beach access, great swimming pool, and fenced in yard perfect for families with young kids who need to keep them contained as it is on a busier street. Love the upgrades this year! Thank you for anoth great trip!

Overall the house was located in a good area and was close to beach access. Pool was a nice feature to have when it was high tide at the beach and kids needed something to occupy their time. However the owners of this place are very strict on cleanness so if you have kids I wouldn't recommend this house. Some small things seem to cause issues and you will be charged damage fees. Other than that it was a nice stay.

Outstanding property
I've stayed at a lot of places in the area. They were all good, but 'Off the Hook' was great. The property is clean, well maintained, excellent layout with a large family room on the top floor connected to a well equipped kitchen. The pool is nice, and the property is extremely close to the beach.

My family and I had a great time at Off the Hook. The house is in the perfect location. Literally steps from the ocean. It's actually a lot closer in person than in the pictures. The house was very clean and true to the description of the property in the listing. Jessica was prompt in her responses to messages and very accommodating to additional requests. We will definitely rent this house again in the future.

I have a family which has a range of ages and interests: surfing/pool/shopping/reading…everyone was happy with this well-appointed, charming home steps from the beach. The pool was perfect for my small grandchildren, while my surfer son hit the waves anytime he could. The rooms were very comfortable- loved the mattresses! Kitchen was well-equipped, and there were plenty of decks/ places to relax and read. It’s in the Arts District of Nags Head, with my wife’s favorite shop next door…but everything is convenient..you don’t have to venture on the bypass, as grocery, restaurants, shops etc.. are within walking/biking/golf cart distance…very convenient part of the OBX…Excellent stay!!
