This property is gorgeous and the house was really nice. We only got to enjoy the huge outside property for one day though. The house next door appears to be unoccupied and the alarm was going off for over 24 hours on the second day. We reported the alarm to multiple sources and it was never addressed. This prevented us from enjoying any of the outside amenities and that was the whole reason we booked this home. It’s important to note that this home is hosted by Vacasa, a detail I missed when booking. I have had only bad experiences with Vacasa in the past and have made it a point to avoid booking with them. This experience was another miss on their part and a further testament to not wanting to book with them. The house was great, the experience was poor.

We basically loved everything about the place. Will definitely will be back! Love to see it in the fall/winter. It was clean and comfy. Hot clean and secluded. Great for families! It’s a good mix of a mountain retreat with a bit of camping due to the large meadow going to the fire pit and creek. The creek is beautiful and fun to explore.
The place is close to a cute historic cafe with all house made food. Plus all the trails you could ask for to adventure on. For the young kids, take the time and go to Wildwoods recreation areas. Rivers, trails, and tons of exploring. It’s not to far from the Old Salmon River trail. Another beautiful place most ages.
I rated it a 4 because there was TONS of cobwebs all over the deck, siding, and hot tub area. I get it, it’s in the woods and it happens. My husband and I had no problems cleaning it up. We didn’t want the kids to fixate about it and ruin their time. The whole family had a fun four night vacation!

Great location, view and getaway. Just needs a little TLC. Felt like we were first rental in a very long time.

The stay overall was relaxing, and we had a good time. However, the house/property needs some work. The wooden swing pictured next to the creek was broken, all the screen doors are falling off the tracks and very difficult to open and close, and the house itself poses a fire hazard due to gutters packed with debris and debris all over the roof. The box of hot tub cleaner that was supposed to be used after every use was empty. You could tell that the property is being used as a rental. The setting is amazing, though, and the stay overall was good.

My partner and I had a great stay here. It snowed the first day and the view through the large windows was stunning! Loved being able to build a fire, though there were no instructions on how to use the flue or fan, which would've been nice. A welcome binder with all the details including hot tub instructions would be helpful, since cell reception is non-existent here. Wifi worked great though! The space was tidy, but felt like it had been awhile since it had been cleaned - we found cobwebs, and a giant dead spider and debris in the shower. The bed was moderately comfortable, but I recommend bringing your own pillows - the ones provided were lumpy and hard. Kitchen was well stocked, but could use some normal sized spoons - they were all large. Found some DVDs in the upstairs closet, but no DVD player which was a bummer. Nice to have the smart tv option though! It was stormy our last night and we lost power early the next morning, and eventually lost all water pressure down to a tiny trickle, which was odd. All in all, the inconveniences were minimal, and the view, hot tub, and cozy living space with sunken fire pit are what make this a 5 star cabin. Would be fun to come back in the summer and sit down by the river!

My family and I have been coming to MT Hood for a few years now. This place was one of the best experiences we had. It was in a great location, very clean and maintained, and had a great backyard and stream in addition to the hot tub. I highly recommend this as a family friendly spot! We will definitely be back!

Beautiful location!! Unfortunately, couldn't enjoy the outside deck because their were so many COBWEBS EVERYWHERE! Couldn't open the windows inside since their were so many cobwebs inside and outside of the track. One of the sliders down stairs screen door needs some major attention and also the dishwasher. Upstairs bedroom is VERY DARK and half way through our stay the one light that was in there burnt out. We had 2 guests that are deathly afraid of spiders and unfortunately we had many spider sightings inside the house and they were very present outside.

Beautiful setting but not quite as secluded as I would have hoped (or as described). Parts of the cabin are lovely. It could use little TLC in others and the water leaves a lot to be desired. Extremely offensive sulfur smell that lingers in the cabin and on you after a shower or even making coffee. Also, if you don't appreciate dripping sweat from humidity, make sure you are ok with no AC. It's listed this way but the cabin itself was overwhelming without a way to cool off. Not pleasant. Other than that, it was a nice weekend and the spot by the river is absolutely beautiful.

This home has a lot of character and charm and the creek is awesome! Great location, short drive to a handful of restaurants/shopping and all sorts of amazing nature is nearby as well.

A friend and I stayed in this magical cabin in the woods for a working retreat. Everything from the peaceful seclusion and forest views to the comfy furniture, cozy fireplace, and blazing-fast wifi made it conducive for a productive stay. We were transported right into that creative, right-brain zone we were seeking, and got a lot of work done. Will definitely return!

Sadly disappointed
The house was very clean and the overall appearance was exactly as it is portrayed online. Unfortunately upon arrival, the thermostat was "offline" so it was colder inside the house than it was outside and it was 52 degrees outdoors at this time. I had to place multiple calls for someone to come fix the heating issue. This also turned into the hot water going on and the circuit breakers continued to trip. This also affected the hot tub which did not get above 86 degrees until the day I left. This was planned as a family trip but due to the ongoing lack of warmth, my kids and husband did not come so I was alone and did not have a chance to enjoy the stay which was a let down. Quite honestly this felt like a lot of money essentially wasted and I definitely would not recommend this rental.

Heating issues
This is a great CABIN experience. We arrived to find it just as advertised and at 48 degrees. Hot tub was hot and very fun for the kids with cool lighting. Cozy carpet in bedrooms and pillows surrounding the fireplace. Leather couch was great for watching Netflix. After hot tub, 2 showers, and turning the thermostat to 70, the furnace went out. We did our best at troubleshooting. Electrical worked fine and we presumed the furnace. We survived the 23 degree night with space heaters - firewood was not provided. In the morning - no water. We were worried about a frozen pipe, several calls to vacasa and no actual help. We went skiing and returned to HVAC guy who could not find the furnace but brought us a log. Could not reach the owner. Hot tub cold. We had a breakthrough with another try at the breakers. Another flip of the switch and we had a nice warm night. Turns out there is probably a pump house/furnace that is finicky? This is an old cabin and needs some instructions to go with it. It was a bummer for our weekend to deal with a blown fuse that we couldn’t figure out despite best efforts. We hope to hear from vacasa. We would go here again. Bring firewood!

River Rest
This is the place to go for deep relaxation and privacy. We felt like we were in the woods. Loved wandering the property and chilling by the river. Only 10 mins to Timberline. Great pizza, coffee around. Must have Skyways BBQ up the road or Koyo down the road. We will be back for sure!

Woodsy get away
We enjoyed our weekend stay. The property is beautiful and feels private even though it is close to neighbors. The house had a bit of a musty smell and could really benefit from some better lighting. Our main disappointment was that the sleeping accommodations include beds in an open loft, which was not described in the listing. The listing makes it seem like there are beds for 5 people in the second bedroom so perhaps this should be updated so people understand the arrangements. The property could also benefit from better seating at the dining room table. The chairs are very large and so, even though the table is big, you can't fit seating for 6 around the table. The check out time is 10am. To me that is unreasonably early.
The hot tub on the deck was really fantastic and the house is really well designed if you like listening to rain on the roof (it rained the whole time we were there, which we loved!). The conversation pit/fireplace are in the living rooms is a fun touch. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen, although very small, functions quite well.

Not clean, misrepresented
House was not clean, smelled musty, poop in toilet, dirty windows and very old cobwebs. Hot tub dangerously hot. Called vacasa, was told it was a known problem. Maintenance came late next day but still overheated that night. Dryer was broken. These Maintenance issues should have been disclosed Prior to our arrival. Very disappointed...

Frequenters of this beautiful mountain oasis.
As remote professionals, we love staying here whenever the cabin is available. We see people booking months in advance, and we try to make sure we come here every other month. It's a perfect A-frame cabin that gives us the space for creativity, work, and play. We love the large windows and how the cabin gives us an immersive nature experience while being inside the cabin. We always look forward to our morning cup of coffee by the creek. Can't wait for ski season!

Beautiful and relaxing.
We had everything we needed and were so comfortable! Close to trails and the mountain, also so content to sit right on the river, soak in the hot tub and wake up to the beautiful view. We wish we could of stayed longer!

Private, we’ll located for hiking and quaint but…
Recommend taking your coffee by the babbling brook on property and you may be up early because the skylight in the master has no sun cover. We liked the house, relaxing space and dining outdoors and privacy it offered but not ideal bed setup for two couples. Hot tub needs cleaning and some chemicals. Enjoyed the board games and nearby hikes!

Simply magical!
We just got back from the best long weekend at this beautiful home. I was skeptical at how much vacation vibe I could get only an hour outside of town, but it felt like a total escape minus half a day of travel which was a dream. I'm fussy about floors and sheets in rentals and was completely happy with both. The kitchen was super well stocked - we grilled and cooked in the whole time. The creek is just lovely - perfect for kids splashing around. The WiFi is excellent. Hot tub under the stars is wonderful. Trying to come up with any negatives... could have used an extra trash bag? There was a mosquito... hahaha... can't find much! Just really an amazing time was had by our whole crew, we'll be back for sure.

Awesome spot in the woods!
Easy to find, close to the main hwy, but still secluded. Fantastic deck with a great view of the creek and woods. The view from the hot tub is equally as perfect.
Heads up for folks who like to sleep in the dark and also sleep in. The skylight above the queen bed does not have a shade on it, so you get full daylight first thing in the morning.

A-Frame Wonderland // Perfect for Remote Professionals
I enjoyed my work week and R&R at the Rustling Waters Cabin.
I worked during the mornings and went skiing in the afternoons. The I would end my day with a soak in the hot tub. The beds were comfortable and I would sleep like a baby all through the night.
Impressive internet speed. I had quite a few devices connected to the WiFi and it was strong and reliable. Perfect for remote workers and zoom meetings. It was nice to have smart TVs in the living space and master bedroom where I connected my streaming accounts.
It snowed during my stay and it made the cabin look like it was in a winter wonderland. I found myself taking work breaks and walking down to the river. Perfect for mental breaks.
I already booked again at the end of February!

So relaxing!
This place was awesome for our family, with a 2-month old baby, and 2.5 year old toddler, plus our friends and their 3 year old! When the 3 year old left his Favorite stuffed bunny, Katie and her team were so helpful getting it back to him!

Nice Rental
The property is beautiful and feels remote and private, even with houses nearby. The creek is peaceful and wonderful to relax by. We only used the bed downstairs, which was comfortable though the skylight above does shine the light into your face the moment the day begins so hopefully you are an early riser. :) The house was mostly clean with the exception of a lot of HUGE spiderwebs not only around ceiling areas but vastly in windowsills even stretching to the chairs in the living room (I recommend having house cleaning take care of those as they are pretty extensive).
We enjoyed our stay and would return though my one major complaint would be the complete lack of response from the homeowners as I tried to reach out numerous times due to concerns with the large fires in Oregon and evacuation phases throughout the county. It is important for homeowners to be reachable when necessary - otherwise we enjoyed our 2 night stay and would book again.

PNW Architectural Design Cabin with a View of Nature's Amphitheater
Nestled in a canopy of thick trees, the angular cabin design has a blending contrast that immediately sets the mood for our escape.
The cabin was aesthetically thought-out, very clean, and open. The large windows provide a serene view that celebrates the lush green landscape with towering old-growth trees. The spacious backyard feels like an amphitheater that slopes down to the creek where we had access to explore, sit, and listen to the water.
Inside the cabin, we got a feeling of comfort and relaxation. We wanted a place to work remotely and enjoy the outdoors on a moment's notice. We made a cozy little nest that steps down into the woodstove space. This unique feature is our favorite area in the house to hang out, drink wine, and work. We also recommend napping in the loft. :)
This home is means a lot to us, and we're looking forward to being regulars. We can't wait to book again to see what winter looks like and ski Mt. Hood.

Fantastic Cabin
This cabin is cozy and tastefully decorated. The deck and property rolling down to the stream are lovely. Beds are comfy and water pressure is excellent. Kitchen is tight but manageable and cabin is dark, but when the leaves fall off trees it could be brighter. The tv and content were a pleasant surprise. Best we’ve had in a rental. Large collection of dvds also. Quiet and peaceful —- the rustling water cabin lives up to its name! Sitting by the stream was a highlight after our adventures each day. Our kids found salamanders, frogs and snakes. We would love to come back again!

Picturesque solitude
We loved this home and can’t wait to return. Its access to nature — with a flowing creek onsite — would be enough. But the house itself holds its own. Lots of room and cozy apportionments.

Location Location Location!
The home is located right in the heart of some of the best hiking and backpacking around Mt. Hood. The home backs up to a beautiful stream/river and has a huge yard for outdoor activities. The home is comfortable and has lots of room to spread out. We used the hot tub several times and this was a huge hit. The kitchen is small and needed some attention. The cookware/serveware was extremely low quality. Post and pans were all rusted through making them unusable. Vacasa offered to replace the items but unfortunately they would not have arrived in time. A quick inventory of all serveware in the kitchen is recommended and would have made our experience a 5 Star.
