Spacious apartment fully equipped, above a pub where they have fantastic food and friendly staff.
Instant coffee and cereal are available.
Truly a beautiful green environment.
It is within walking distance of the Monsal trail and the Chee dale stepping stones.
Everything was good, only the carpet in the bathroom gave me the creeps
4.5
Location for walking and cycling on the Monsal trail and walks in the area. Quiet area and great menu for evening meals.
A larger fridge than the one fitted particularly in a self catering property. Entrance door needs attention.

Staff at the pub are excellent very accommodating 5 star all round will be back again 😀

Absolutely drop dead gorgeous location, fantastic little pub with friendly staff and really well set up little apartment with everything needed for several days stay
Not their fault of course, but there is a bit of traffic on the road outside; with windows open in summer because of the heat, it led to some early wakeups.

A charming place in a beautiful location near a babbling brook! Extremely well equipped with extra goodies not found elsewhere in our travels so far. The apartment was spacious and pleasantly furnished with good parking facilites. WiFi coverage was excellent. Tasty wholesome meals available in the pub. Loved being in this part of the world. Staff pleasant and helpful. Many thanks for a lovely stay.

great location
road was noisy and shower very small

Great location. Such a good place to base yourself, with many things around to do and see.
The apartment is a bit dated, but that wasn't a big problem. I'd still recommend staying here.

This was our third stay here but won't be our last, we absolutely love it. It's warm and cozy with everything we need and the staff couldn't be friendlier. The food portions in the pub are huge! All that plus stunning walks on the doorstep.
The shower isn't the best but it's functional and certainly doesn't put us off.

Access straight onto Monsal trail routes. Lovely area.
Only one teaspoon and 2 pieces of kitchen towel left in sealf catering room. Bedroom and shower cubicle small. A lot of black dust on sink, may be from hot water heater. Rather dated for our taste but quaint.

a lovely apartment in a lovely area, lovely pub with lovely food ,will visit again.

Apartment ideal for two people, accepts dogs, apartment clean and tidy, food in the pub, excellent. Loads of walks close by without having to drive out if you don't want to.
Not keen on the steep steps from the pub to apartment, especially if you suffer from vertigo. Could do with some form of handrail.
4.5
Property was clean. Nice selection of breakfast cereals on offer.
Slippery dangerous steps up to property with no handrail and unlit at night. Shower wouldn't heat up. Heating on timer, frozen most of the time. Bed old and uncomfortable.
4.5
Apartment was clean.
Nothing on website indicated you had to climb 30+ narrow, winding steps with no handrail to reach property. With a back problem this was a catastrophe. Once up to property, the "garden view" was facing a very busy, fast road. Traffic started around 5am.

Lovely location. Great pub with good food.Very near the Monsal Trail.
Few snagging jobs needed in toilet/shower room. Bit damp in bedroom. but still nice place to stay

location, cleanliness, size and equipment, perfect for either shorter or longer visits. nice to have a living area.
wifi didn’t work but as we were busy outdoors it didn’t affect our stay

Amazing location. Lovely ambiance.
Nothing.

Room was spotlessly clean and although it was self catering and no meals included in the price, the hosts laid on several cereals for on a morning. We had two excellent evening meals in the pub itself. We will definitely be going back next year !
Internet was virtually non existent but understandable due to the remote location and we knew what to expect before we arrived. That was the only negative thing on our stay.

Fabulous location . Amazing little cottage and great food at the pub.

The easy access for walks and EXCELLENT food at the pub.
The steps down from the apartment and the fridge in the apartment seemed to be collecting water.

Breakfast was not provided
We stayed at Primrose Cottage, owned by Angler's Rest. it was fine for 2 people, we used both beds as we prefer twin beds rather than a double bed. The accommodation was very small, fine for 2 but we hosted 2 friends for an evening meal and found there were insufficient chairs and glasses.

This was our 2nd stay this year. Excellent location, lovely apartment with thoughtful little touches. Staff in the pub are so friendly and helpful and you won't be disappointed with the food- proper pub grub.
Fully intend to return.
The bedroom is a little cramped with the bulky wardrobe but that's just personal taste and wouldn't prevent us from returning.

Did not have breakfast
Shower a littie tempremental.
