Christchurch's Distinction Hotel, at the heart of the city, with welcoming helpful staff.

The Distinction Hotel was an excellent choice for my husband and me who came to attend a week long conference. At the centre of the city, a few minutes walk from Te Pae, it was also very close to the shopping district, cafes, the art museum, the earthquake museum. art centre and the riverside market. Our room was very comfortable, the servicing of the room was excellent and staff at the desk and in the restaurant were great, cheerful, welcoming, helpful. We commend in particular the excellent breakfast buffet.

The weather was a bit rainy and the wind was very strong on one particualr day. But then it was winter!

Thank you all for a lovely pleasant stay and for making my first time in New Zealand really great!

The room was spacious, the staff was very warm and polite and best of all the food was amazing! The restaurant has really nice selections of meals, with great portions and all seasoned nicely. I ate the pecan pie almost everyday!

Superlage, schöner Bau

Gute Lage mitten in Christchurch

Ein sogenanntes Upgrade war ein Zimmer im 2.Stock mit Blick auf die Baustelle der Kathedrale. Auf Nachfrage bekamen wir ein Zimmer in der gebuchten Kathegorie classic Junior Suite im 6. Stock, welches sehr gut war. Die Bar wollte am Samstag schon um 9 Uhr pm schliessen

Bed was comfortable

Phoned prior to arrival to check on room service availability as arriving after 9pm. On arrival found out no alcohol or plain bottled water available only mini bar contents which are poor. No wine and poor beer choice. Room menu poor.

It is located centrally in the Christchuch CBD, close to every attractions within the city such as the Riverside Market Place, Botanical Garden etc. Also, it is the biggest hotel in the Christchurch CBD. Highly recommended!

Good location, price reasonable, decent bedrooms, nice hot buffet breakfast.

Good hot buffet breakfast, large dining room. Nice shower in bathroom. Perfect central location.

But of a humming noise during the night. We were on top floor. Possibly air con units.

Very central so easy to get everywhere

This hotel is very centrally placed so once the car had been handed over you could step out to enjoy all Christchurch has to offer. The room was light, airy, spacious and well equipped.

Good location, comfortable room, friendly staff.

With the fan on the highest setting and the temperature set to the coldest setting, it was still humid in the room, there was a lot left to be desired of the AC system.

The hotel was comfortable and in a great location and would have been great if catered for 3 persons

Centrally located to everything. Only problem arrived on 4 day long weekend so a lot of places closed exacerbated by a lack of staff currently.

There were 3 in the room (paid extra) and everything in the room was for 2, cups, glasses, chocolate etc. When we requested extra got one thing (cup) and had to ask again several times. So we’re sharing a glass for example.

Fantastic location, clean, quiet, and very helpful front desk. Near a few good eateries and shops, and very convenient in terms of access to transport. No coffee machine, but an electric kettle with tea and coffee. Good value for the price.

Air conditioning wouldn’t heat; it may be that it’s centralized, and that most days are warmer in spring, but I wanted a warmer room. While very clean, there was some mild calcification on water sources; still absolutely fine by most standards, but pedants may notice it. Minimalist toiletries, though of decent quality.

Surpassed our expectations, what a great stay! We will come again.

The rooms surpassed our expectations, they were recently renovated and were really comfortable. Family room was perfect and everyone had a bed just right. Large bathroom with a luxurious tub. My parents received an upgrade for the junior suite which was at the corner and had views of the cathedral and City, so amazing location. The staff were great and we will definitely come back!

The room was nice, comfortable and clean

We stayed in a Junior Suite which was large, but not well thought out. You could not see the TV while lying in bed due to the position in the room. We asked to change rooms, but there was nothing more suitable.
