BEACHFRONT! AWESOME! 180º UNOBSTRUCTED OCEAN & SUNSET VIEWS! LIGHT, BRIGHT, AIRY, AND SUPER CLEAN CONDO THAT SLEEPS 4! POOL, HOT TUB, TENNIS, PICKLE BALL, PING PONG—2 OUTSIDE SHOWERS!
**PLEASE NOTE: The Princess AC is a water-cooled, roof-mounted central system, BUT it is NOT like the Mainland AC you may be accustomed to, meaning it will NEVER get really cold--simply not that kind of design. The great majority of folks are very comfortable when everything is left open letting our "usual" wonderful trade winds, great cross ventilation, ceiling fans, and stand fans keep the condo fresh with tropical breezes! PLEASE NOTE: If you really like super cool inside temperatures, this is NOT the condo for you. Please let us know you are OK with AC status when you book this condo.
When we say BEACHFRONT, we mean absolute beachfront! The PRINCESS BUILDING sits smack dab on the beach in the photo! It's the most beautiful beach on Oahu.
A secured 16-story building (2 elevators) with pool, hot tub, tennis/pickle ball, outside BBQ area, Rec Room with ping pong table. This condo is on a high floor (not recommended for very young children) with absolutely stunning beach, ocean, and sunset views.
This is a one-bedroom/one-bath (shower stall/no tub) condo. It has a lovely lanai with unparalleled 180º ocean/sunset view. Lanai has sunshade.
Cal King bedroom and queen-size sleep sofa in living room. Fully furnished full-size kitchen with full-size appliances (fridge has icemaker) and all the necessities. We supply all dishes, pots 'n pans, silverware, toaster, regular drip coffeemaker (we furnish filters), microwave, and a blender for making those onolicious Hawaiian fruit smoothies. We also have a dishwasher, 2 TVs, ceiling fans, stand fans, washer/dryer, iron/board, all linens (including beach towels), hair dryer, beach chairs, mats, boogie boards, snorkeling equipment, beach umbrella, and cooler. The spices in the condo vary—some guests buy new and leave-so we never know exactly what is there—best to check first and then buy accordingly. There is a desk & chair. We even provide binoculars for in-condo use--watch right from your lanai as the whales (in season), dolphins, and giant sea turtles put on a show! Sometimes our beloved monk seals will come up on our beach to rest. Please look and appreciate but stay a courteous distance back.
THE PRINCESS IS A SMOKE-FREE COMPLEX! Smoking is NOT ALLOWED in the units, on the lanais, in/at the corridors, elevators, pool, rec room, BBQ area, or in the lobby! THERE IS A STIFF FINE FROM BUILDING MANAGER FOR VIOLATION. Smoking is permitted ONLY in designated smoking area that has an umbrella table and chairs located well away from the building.
NO ANIMALS OF ANY KIND ALLOWED!
Out of respect for our neighbors, some of whom are full-time residents who treasure their peace and quiet, and others are vacationers who want a quiet period of relaxation, we allow no visitors. Only the registered guests may occupy condo.
We require a Rental Agreement with a simple, short basic information form that needs to be filled out, signed, and returned to us before Arrival Info is e-mailed to you. This document will be e-mailed to you immediately after confirmation.
Makaha is on the NON-TOURISTY side of Oahu--very much "OLD" Hawaii--nothing new or fancy here! Our location is out on the beautiful Leeward Coast with its incredible beaches. This is NOT a touristy location, and it is about a 45-minute to an hour's drive, depending entirely on traffic, to Waikiki & Honolulu.
ALL MAJOR ATTRACTIONS ARE A LONG DRIVE FROM CONDOS.
ALL HAWAII BEACHES ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC; however, since there is not much public parking in the area, our beach is generally not crowded. The Princess has NO control over who uses this beach. There are homeless camps along the coast island wide, but not on our beach.
Makaha has lots of fast food and ethnic restaurants (be sure to try BEACHHOUSE 604, a guest favorite where you can eat outside by the ocean--watch for the dolphins). Spicy House in Maili has wonderful Thai food, and it is not too far from condo.
There is fine dining only 20 minutes away at Ko'Olina and Au'Lani Disney Hotel. Kapolei is about 20-25 minutes away, and has MANY great restaurants and really nice shopping. There is a water park in Kapolei. All drive times are subject to time of day and traffic of course.
World-famous Makaha Surfing Beach (home to international surfing competition) is just a very short hop down the coast from the condo.
Beautiful scenery down the coast from the Princess to Kaena Point—road ends there—no passage around that end of our island.

Guests raved about the stunning ocean views, the peaceful beachfront location, and the well-equipped condo with amenities. Communication with owners was excellent. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing holiday away from tourist areas.

The condo was cozy and clean. Amazing view from the balcony. The small beach was very quiet and clear blue water to swim in. Pat was a very attentive host and checked in on me. The check in process is easy and I would recommend staying on this wonderfully quiet west coast of the Island! Mahalo

The condo and the view from the 13th floor was perfect! Beautiful beach right in front of the condo which was easy to access and never crowded. Enjoyed breakfast while watching turtles in the water every morning from the lanai! Condo is located away from the hustle and bustle which is exactly what we were looking for...you'll need to rent a car if you want to venture to the North Shore and Waikiki but it is worth it to stay in a more relaxed and less crowded part of the island.

After a cramped night in busy Waikiki , my teen boys and I loved the privacy, incredible views and relaxed pace the Hawaiian Princess. The building isn’t newer but well maintained, and we were provided everything we needed for the week. Use of binoculars allowed us to see whales breaching, plus we saw sea turtles and a monk seal right from our room! My sons loved being able to sleep on the lanai and go to sleep to the sound of the waves. Great hosts! Would definitely recommend if you prefer a choose your own adventure over a tour group type of holiday.

I returned to the islands for a family reunion and for the scattering of a loved one ashes in Haleiva. I was looking for a place on the West Side by the ocean to heal and reflect (to me, the West Side is Hawaii, not Waikiki and all of the tourist traps.) This condo did not disappoint. Communication with the Maxwell's was great and they were accomodating. Security was friendly and helpful. The unit was clean and exactly as described in the listing. There was a cooling tower down in the building but it didn't matter. Who needs a/c when you have those amazing trade winds? Open the doors to the lanai and the vent window on the front door and you have an amazing breeze, just like being out in the ocean. I slept on both beds, the King size in the bedroom and the queen size pullout and both were extremely comfortable. The pullout couch has a mattress topper and is not your typical sofa bed. I've never slept in a pullout as comfortable. I actually slept out on the sofa bed most nights with the lanai doors open so I could listen to the surf. The sound if the waves hitting the shore and the tide coming in is the most theraputic thing in the world. There were two honu that frequented the reef daily and you could see them swimming in the crystal clear waters from the lanai. The open view of the ocean without all of the buildings and noise of the tourist traps is absolutely amazing. I definitely plan on staying here on my next visit back.

Don and Pat are wonderful! We just want to thank you for opening your beautiful condo as an VRBO. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there last week. The breeze, beach front view, comfortable bed, washer/dryer, ice machine, hangars, cleanliness, quiet neighbors (baring the roosters!) 😂 made for the perfect stay. We enjoyed snorkeling in the mornings and walking on the beach in the evenings.
Thank you, so much!
Blessings,
Robert, Donna and Thomas from Texas.

We could not have asked for a better stay! This condo gets you out of the busy Honolulu/Waikiki areas while still being reasonable driving distance to local restaurants and attractions. The views from the condo are outstanding and the beach is pristine with perfect views any way you look! Quality beach chairs, boogie boards and snorkeling equipment provided were great for fun days at the beach! Condo was clean and felt very safe/secure. Great communication from owners! Would definitely stay again!!

We enjoyed outstanding views from our lanai everyday. From early morning moon
reflections across the ocean to evening sunsets, we were thrilled to sit and soak it all in! We also saw whales, sea turtles, and a shark! We chose this condo for the potential views and we definitely were not disappointed.
The condo provided everything we needed and more. It was clean. The owners were very helpful and friendly. We felt as though we had our own little paradise!
I was a little shocked at the number of people that reside on the nearby beaches in their make-shift dwellings.
All in all, we absolutely loved our stay!

The accommodations were superb. My wife and I enjoyed this condo a great deal. It is well-kept up, and very clean and the view was picture-perfect. Pat, the property manager was engaged in our stay making sure that everything was up to par. I would recommend this property to everyone. Thank you, Pat. We will definitely contact you again for our next trip to the west side of the island. Mahalo.

My husband and I stayed here at the end of our trip to celebrate our anniversary. The Sunsets are incredible. Staff and neighbors of the condos were super nice and friendly. We had a rental car, to help us get around the island. The unit was well stocked and clean. It was nice that they had beach chairs and an umbrella that we could use and a cooler for lunches. Thank you for letting us stay. We had a wonderful time.

The condo was so nice! Perfect for a couple. Clean, comfortable, attractive, with all the amenities. We loved the location away from the tourist areas, and the view from the lanai was amazing! The only thing that bothered us was that after paying a not insignificant cleaning fee they want you to empty the trash cans and wash AND fold the towels and sheets. It’s a small space - the cleaning fee should more than cover a top to bottom cleaning and sanitizing, including washing the linens.

This was exactly what we were looking for. Incredible beach. Incredible view, off the beaten path. We were there for seven days and took advantage of everything the island had to offer. Pearl Harbor, snorkeling, North shore and everything in between. Best thing was coming back each day to the sunsets and sounds of the waves. My daughter actually sent one of my sunset pictures to a company and had a puzzle made . Condo was just as advertised. Communication was easy and quick. Thank you for letting us enjoy your condo. It really was amazing and we will be back in the near future

Great location to explore the West Coast of Oahu
Great location with access to a lovely beach at the front of property. We particularly enjoyed the BBQ area and the excellent suggestions of where where to eat and places to visit.

Depends on your vacational goals
Property was awesome, clean and well maintained. Very quiet and straight on a beach. Breathtaking views and overall I would give it 5 stars. However, it is VERY remote ( we were aware and it was mentioned in description), and the ocean was rough. If you going with kids and want a mild shores, think twice. The park 2 minutes drive from the property has mild spots, however a lot of homeless people lives on its beach and looking for your belonging. It is not related to the property nor they can fix it. Homelessness is all over Oahu problem.

Comfortable & outstanding view
Nice decorated, clean and well stocked. Had just about everything you would need… coolers, towels, spices, condiments, beach chairs, snorkeling, boogie boards. Very comfortable. The lanai was awesome looking out at the ocean and beach…. Couldn’t have been better!!!! Magnificent view!!! Wished we could have checked in sooner than 4 pm though!!!!!
This is a unit on the west side of the island…. Had to drive an hour at least to get anywhere, thru neighborhood, homeless on the open beach & camping areas and on the trail next to the ‘private’ beach area, which wasn’t good. No real Restaurants around this part of the island.
However that being said, it was a nice condo! Worth renting, definitely!

Good Condo, but be aware...
This condo located in the Hawaiian Princess in Makaha was clean (and I'm a stickler on this), comfortable, and met all our basic needs. The proximity to get down to the the beach was so quick and the beach itself was beautiful. Please note that the condo does not have anything in the way of storing left over food so pick up some plastic wrap or foil. The owners were also quick to respond to a couple minor issues.
HOWEVER, the area of Waianae which is directly south and must be driven through and is very close to the condo, is a high poverty and homeless area. There are all sorts of homeless encampments up and down the coastline, including abandoned cars as well as many, many individuals wandering around. Unfortunately, there were also at least 4 homeless tents/canvases in front of the cliff area you see in the pictures directly beside the building. Some of the people living there (perhaps 8-10 individuals) would come onto the beach in front of the condo daily. They also have 5 or 6 small dogs over there that bark and came with them on one day. One man was smoking cigarettes and other substances every time he was on the beach, and always near us. I am thankful we did not bring children with us, as I would not have felt good exposing them to this. I realize the owners can do nothing about this problem, but I feel full disclosure would have been helpful in making a decision. Being on vacation is not the time to be faced with such issues. That being said, I would not stay in the area on this side of the island again if we return.

A small slice of paradise.
If you are looking for a place away from the busyness of Honolulu and with a fabulous ocean view, then this is the place for you. We saw whales every day and turtles several times right from the lanai. The beach is not crowded and there are lots of beach necessities in the condo to use. The local eateries were good, but are limited in number. We spent a few days exploring the island and a few days lounging at the beach. Honolulu is about an hour drive which wasn't too bad. We had a great stay and would recommend it to our friends.

Wonderful place
Excellently equipped with all kinds of beach toys, kitchen utensils and anything else you could think of. Had one day of bad weather, but staying inside was made more pleasant by the games, DVD player and even packaged popcorn! We plan on returning soon.

Lovely sunsets, right on the beach, very family-friendly.
Property is exactly as described. Leeward side was sunny while rest of island was rainy. Street noise was a little loud at night with windows open. Property managers were very communicative and extremely helpful in navigating CoVid requirements. Followed their instructions and had no issues.

Amazing Beach
The view from the lanai was fabulous. In my mind you could drive all the way around Oahu but you can't (there's about a five mile gap right near Makaha) so it was more than an hour to Pearl Harbor and an hour and a half to the Northshore but if you want a peaceful, laid-back vacation go for it. I also really enjoyed the whale watch/dolphin swim/snorkel tour with Wild Side in Lanaie and that was close by. Mahalo.

Perfect low key location
The condo has amazing views. Enjoyed sunset each day, watched sea turtles and surfers. Ocean view is breathtaking. Pool is nice as well as hot tub. At first sight the property looks like it is in unsafe location but then we realized we were truly in an area where locals live. We never felt unsafe. The local eateries are wonderful, nothing fancy but great food. We tried several places. We recommend Hannaras. For shaved ice go to Mountain Ice just a block away. Wherever we drove we found uncrowned beaches. People are courteous and friendly.

Best Kept Secret in Oahu
This hidden gem in the less touristed leeward side is paradise. The beach was never crowded, the waves not too big for kids to swim. We loved our stay here! Hardly did any of our planned sight-seeing because we just wanted to hang at the beach.

Perfect Getaway
Great communication about property and any questions we had. The view is incredible perfect sunsets every night and you are able to watch the turtles from the balcony. Staying here was like having your own beach. It was nice having the beach toys available, chairs, boggie board and cooler made our adventures to others beaches nice. Hope to be back soon!

Great beach, clean condo
The neighborhood surrounding this condo is sketchy, but the condo is as described. The beach is wonderful., changed my thought that one did not need to be on a beach. Being on a beach as nice as this one was wonderful. Probably the cleanest condo we've rented in a long while. Security at the condo is good, felt safe and secure while there. Really enjoyed the beach toys provided. Would rent this condo again. Did not need air-conditioning given the great breezes.

Paradise
This property was exactly what we were looking for. Quiet, peaceful and yet not too far from anything. The hosts were great. Met us upon arrival and gave us a tour of premises. The condo itself was very well stocked and we wanted for nothing. They even had beach toys, chairs, snorkel equipment and a cooler for snacks etc. Great views from the balcony including turtle and whale watching. We would definitely come back. Thanks for such a great experience!!! The Carrier family.

Great Location!
We had a wonderful time staying at this condo! The owners greeted us upon arrival and showed us all we needed to know. The condo location is great! We enjoyed sitting on the Lanai everyday and seeing whales and turtles go by and the wonderful sunsets! The Lanai furniture was very comfortable and we slept really well in the king size bed, falling asleep to the sound of the waves every night. The beach is so nice, not crowded at all, and the condo is equipped with beach chairs and an excellent beach umbrella (and lots of other beach things like boogie boards; snorkeling equipment; sand toys). We were either down on the beach or on the Lanai for the majority of our trip. Absolutely a slice of Heaven!! Thanks Don, Mitch and Pat! We’ll be back!!

Great condo on a perfect beat!
Compact but totally functional, this place was perfect for an adventurous older couple to spend a week relaxing on the beach. Comfortable and clean, well equipped for cooking real meals and stocked with lots of beach equipment as well. The view from the lanai is endlessly beautiful and nearby restaurants are plentiful and varied. There are other nice beaches nearby but the one right there is matchless—I actually ended up swimming with several sea turtles right off the cliff!!

Hawaiian Princess
The site was gorgeous. Couldn’t have asked for better accommodations. Our only issue was the travel to and from area. Traffic was terrible . However if you are looking for somewhere semi private with a great beach, this is it.

Beautiful Semi-Private Beach
The condo we rented was great. Nicely decorated, clean and convenient. The beach was beautiful, the views were spectacular. The fact that the beach was semi-private was awesome. Not crowded at all. The area surrounding the property was not all that great. Fairly rundown homes, not many places to eat or shop. Need to drive about 30 minutes to get to a place for dinner or nicer shopping. But, I would still highly recommend this rental and would definitely rent again.

Aloha, our stay was amazing. Beautiful views. Will surely miss drinking my hot tea in the morning in the patio. Maxwell was very helpful from us getting there to us leaving. He was just a phone call away. He has everything you need and can think of when going to the beach. I recommend this place 100%. We hope to be back next year. Muchas gracias,, Mahalo,,,
