Exceptional

This was a lovely place to come back to after a hard 4 days doing the lost city trek. The court yard is lovely and the bedroom spaceous. We were greeted with a cold glass of mango juice and our really friendly and helpful host, Ruben. We were leaving the next day but our extremely smelly washing was clean, dry and folded by the time we left. Would definitely recommend a stay here and would book again if we go back to Santa Marta.

I really liked the atmosphere in the Hostal. The owner is really nice and had a lot of good recommendations for the nexts days of our journey.

only the water in the accommodation had problems to flush when two persons directly shower behind each other. Therefore, a bit of water was at the bathroom floor but it wasn’t that bad.

The best place to stay in Santa Marta

Ruben is a fantastic host. I felt like part of the family. This place had the best food I had in Colombia! The Wi-Fi was fast and stable.

- Friendly and helpful owner (for example - help us to book trek to Ciudad Perdida) - Possibility to leave luggage for the duration of the trek - Beer and fun on the corner (in front of the store) :-) - Very good breakfast - Quiet a safety place, but not right in the center (rather an advantage for us) - Outdoor seating in the yard - Laundry (on request) - ATM in distance 50 m - We felt like at home and we would love to come back!

Super welcoming, comfortable, great location. You have to stay here!

The hostel was the most welcoming place I have ever stayed! Ruben went out of his way to make me comfortable and even made me special vegan breakfasts! He was so kind. The location is also great, it's a nice place away from the bustle (but still within walking distance) of the centre where you can get to know a different neighborhood.

Amazing place!

We are very grateful to have met this lovely and generous family. They welcomed us every day with coffe and always helped us with any issues we had. We just wanted to stay for 2 days but ended up returning after every short travel we had withing the country. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and well-maintained. A person in the reviews complained that there's no warm water but this is normal in the Caribbean and everywhere there the same. The AC worked perfectly. All in all, we hope to come back some time and we clearly recommend the hostel, especially if you like to get in touch with lovely locals. As it is not directly in the center you have a more authentic and calmer neighborhood, which is still just a short taxi ride or a 10 min walk away from the center.

The hostel has an incredibly nice and helpful owner. it is very pleasant to live here in a somewhat quieter area in Santa Marta. It's loud everywhere and you only get peace outside. the city center is within easy walking distance. I love it, thank u Ruben

Honestly, this hostel feels like a home. Ruben is a great guy, he went above and beyond to help me with my trip. Awesome stay. Strong wifi and very big rooms. Highly recommended.

Perfect base in Santa Marta

Turispanish Hostel is a home away from home, Ruben and his family are very welcoming and make sure your stay is comfortable. I received a warm welcome with fresh juice and mangoes and even a special local breakfast! If you need any recommendations, Ruben is always around to help with guidance. The room is big, comfortable, a/c works very well and the area is very quiet. I could also store my bags which was very helpful. Everything in Santa Marta is only a short taxi ride away. Strong wifi and even a computer in the room if you need it.

Fabulous

As everyone has already mentioned in the reviews, Ruben is such a nice host! We felt very welcome! The breakfast was super delicious and the beds were very comfortable. Ruben also helped us getting a Colombian SIM card at the local store, thank you Ruben :)

Fabulous

We were warmly and perfectly welcomed by Ruben who offered us fresh fruit juice and took the time to gave us recommendations. The room is confortable, clean, there is a nice patio in front of the room with a table and a hammock to have lunch or to rest. And it was only a 10 minutes walk to get to the streets full of restaurants and bars. We really appreciated our stay there!

Little oasis in Santa Marta

Ruben is a great host. He cared a lot and we were able to leave our luggage at his place while we did the lost city trek. The Laundry service was quick. The breakfast was very good. Definitely recommended!
