About this house rental
Casa Risa is a two bedroom home nestled in the South part of town near hidden beaches*, yet only an 8 minute walk (no hills) to Sayulita Plaza and 10 minutes to Sayulita Beach. Perfectly situated so everything is walkable but far enough away from the late night sounds of town.
The Casa has a tranquil beach vibe and offers an open floor plan with high arched ceilings. Risa also has a covered patio surrounded by a garden where you can lounge in a hammock. The living room has 3 large built-in sofas to cuddle up on and watch Netflix when you are not at the beach or touring around town. The bathroom boasts a beautiful walk-in stone shower that is just heaven after a long beach day. The bedrooms are equipped with AC, plenty of closet space, and unlike the rock-hard beds found throughout Mexico, very cozy memory foam topped mattresses.
Casa Risa comes with free WiFi, a full kitchen, AC in the bedrooms and ceiling fans throughout, 100% cotton sheets, quilts and towels, TV with Netflix, Logitech speaker dock, bottled drinking water, kitchen supplies and a few other touches to make your stay enjoyable. We also provide beach towels, boogie boards, and a beach umbrella.
Casa de Risa means “House of Laughter” and we hope that you will create many joyful memories during your stay with us in magical Sayulita.
* Playa de Los Muertos (Beach of the Dead which is named for the beautiful cemetery it is located next to) is a short 15 minute walk. This beach has minimal vendors, plenty of shade and gentle waves. A life guard is on duty most of the time and the roped off swimming area gives you a chance to play in the waves and float around in the water safely. Unlike the North side of Sayulita which has rip currents and is near the water treatment plant, the South side is the more clean and pristine Mexico experience you crave. And in just a 20-25 minute walk from Casa Risa is Playas Carricitos, Patzcuaro and Patzcuarito. While caution should be used while swimming or bodysurfing these beaches, the beauty and remoteness is highly desirable for meditation, yoga, or reading a good book. Beautiful place / arrangement. Open floor plan, 2 nice bedrooms and mostly a really awesome living area. Wrap around couch. Family would be best? I realized too late... but it would have been worth it to get a golf cart. Great stay.

Home away from home
We enjoyed Casa Risa where we stayed for 2 months. The terrace became our main living area where we ate most of our meals and worked. Gordon is a painter and I do ceramics so we set up a work area at one end. Our dogs enjoyed it too. It was an easy ten minute walk to a beautiful jungle walk which led to a very private beach. We also walked to town and the beach all the time and even the far end of town was only ten to twelve minutes walk.
We did not know we shared our entrance with the upper unit and those people walked past our terrace both coming and going. This was not too inconvenient as all the people who stayed there were very nice, but something we would have liked to know ahead.
In general this was good value for the price and suited our needs well. Comfortable bed. Spacious very usable kitchen and living room, good hot water and pressure in the shower.

Great Place!!
First off communication with Leah and Ali was easy, very quick and spot on! That was really important to me as I was going to propose to my fiance. The casa was great.....well equipped, comfortable and best off, quiet. Sayulita can be lots of fun if you know what I mean, but we were sure to get a good night's sleep and be ready for the next beautiful day. The location was convenient and could get to town two different ways which was really nice depending on what we were doing. And if you're wondering, she said YES! Wooo hoo.

Worry-free stay at Casa Risa - a wonderful paradise!
Everything was near-perfect for my visit. Casa Risa was welcoming, beautiful and well-appointed with everything I needed. The property manager dropped by and he fixed the loose bathroom faucet handle on the spot!

Great location, safe and secure.
Casa Risa made for a great 25 day stay in Sayulita. Perfect distance to downtown, restaurants and beaches. The bedrooms were roomy as was the rest of the living space. Used the patio every day. The bathroom and shower were fabulous. Great water pressure and lots of hot water for showers. Our hosts were extremely welcoming and helpful with directions and suggestions for not to miss activities in Sayulita. I would definitely stay there again and recommend to friends and family.

Lovely little Casa
Was prepared for the roosters and the walking... not so much for the construction noise and the explosions leading up to the Saint Guadaloupe celebrations. Really really appreciated the super helpful details regarding food recommendations. Neither of us got sick and we even braved some of the local produce and cooked our favorite scramble!

Exceptional
Our stay at Casa Risa was even better than we anticipated, and is so thoughtfully set up and decorated for your comfort and has all necessities for your home away from home! We used the beach umbrella and beach chairs almost every day as well as boogie boards! we loved the hammock and table out front provides a beautiful courtyard with flowers and plants you feel like our in the jungle! The beds are SO comfortable, air conditioning units work great. Kitchen has every amenity you could think of and the neighborhood is quiet. Beautiful open shower and cleaning services once a week. Leah and Ali are quick to respond with any questions and respect your privacy as they live upstairs in a separate unit. We cannot say enough about how wonderful our experience was or how amazing Leah and Ali are ! we will be back!!

Amazing!!!
I really enjoyed staying here. The location is perfect because there are many amenities close, such as a laundry lady as well as a convenience store. The main highway to Punta Mita is near making it convenient head out to other parts of the Riviera without having to cross across town. The home was clean when I arrived. The AC was amazing; the house cools in minutes. The kitchen had everything I need to prepare meals: blender, oven, and microwave. There was bottled water available for my consumption. The living room was super comfortable for watching Netflix. The patio was great for hanging out. The shower was impeccable. I was never worried about theft; very secure. EVERYTHING was perfect for my purpose. I highly recommend this place and will, hopefully, be able to reserve again. Thanks Ali.

Clean, comfortable and within walking distance to the downtown area.
We were very happy with this property, plenty of space and A/C was a lifesaver for two Albertans in the August humidity!

Wonderful place to stay in Sayulita!
This place was fantastic! We were a group of 4, two couples, and the size was ideal. The beds were comfortable, and we utilized the kitchen, living room, and outdoor space. Leah and Ali are amazing hosts. They thought of everything! The guide book they put together gave us more information than we could have thought to ask, and everything we could have wanted in the space was there waiting for us. We cooked a few meals there as the kitchen was so well stocked. The shower had hot water and good pressure. It's about a 10 minute walk to town in a really quiet area, which we appreciated a lot, as we've stayed in town previously and had trouble sleeping because of the noise. And since we stayed for a week, they scheduled a mid-stay cleaning of the house, which was unexpected and so nice. Highly, highly recommend!

A wonderful place to stay for a relaxing holiday.
This property is everything that we needed and wanted. The directions for arriving there are fabulous and the binder that Leah has prepared was extremely helpful. We strongly recommend booking your next stay in Sayulita here. It's close enough to the town and the beach and yet far enough away to have your own little paradise all to yourself. Be sure to bring sturdy walking/running shoes to navigate the streets. We have already recommended this charming place to friends and strangers.

An absolutely perfect family vacation!
We stayed at Casa Risa in January with our 10 month old son and this was an ideal spot for our family. The perfect distance from Sayulita’s Center where we could easily walk in to enjoy the restaurants and bustle but we couldn’t hear the noise when on the property. It also felt like a little more of an authentic experience as neighbors had roosters, we could watch as they repaired a thatched roof, and were friendly to talk to if you spoke Spanish. The hosts were wonderful! Leah and Ali were super nice and accessible if we needed but gave us our space. I would absolutely recommend this VRBO and this town for an easy and enjoyable family vacation.

Christmas at Casa Risa
Casa Risa was everything it promised to be! Clean, spacious, and conveniently located. The beds were comfy and the foliage in the yard was beautiful to look out the window at. Ali and Leah were helpful and available when we needed them. There is a noisy rooster across the road - nothing the owners can do about that, but packing ear plugs if you're a light sleeper might be helpful. Providing a broom would be helpful, we found that we tracked in sand and would have liked to be able to sweep out the entrance. Overall we loved our Christmas at Casa Risa and look forward to another trip to Sayulita and this charming casa in the future!

Clean hospitable and quiet rental
We loved staying at Ali and Leah's place. Located on a quiet side street it was the perfect place to just be and reflect on the busy town of Salyulita. Thanks so much!

Leah and Ali are two very knowledgeable and thoughtful property owners who provided us with more than we could have asked for in ,Sayulita. It was the little things that made our stay so pleasant, such as filtered water being provided and a beach umbrella. We were also delighted that there was a spice rack for us to use, meaning we didn't have to buy certain items when wanting to cook at home. We have only positive things to say about this wonderful home, and would definitely recommend it to anyone.
