About this house rental
Peaceful lakefront home on Shaws Pond with 3 bedrooms, 1 and 1/2 baths. Imagine you and your family enjoying all that the lakes region has to offer:
In winter there's hiking, snowshoeing, and even skiing/tubing/cross country skiing/fat tire biking at Gunstock (only 35 mins away). When the lake freezes over, you can walk out the door to ice fish or skate across the pond. Stargazing is great anytime of year and sometimes you can even catch a glimpse of a comet or the aurora borealis!
Summer highlights include great swimming (swim raft included), boating (3 kayaks), fishing (bass, pickerel, perch, sunfish and more), and sitting by the lake enjoying the beautiful views and gorgeous sunsets. Gather around the campfire, roasting s'mores and making memories to last a lifetime.
Fantastic day trips to nearby attractions make this an ideal vacation spot.
Located only 6 miles from downtown Wolfeboro, you'll have access to all the great restaurants, breweries, music and shopping that the Lakes Region has to offer. Just a quick drive into town for Wolfeboro's finest ice cream at Bailey's Bubble for an unforgettable treat. Plenty to do if you want or just relax and enjoy all that Shaws Pond has to offer.
The home features a master bedroom (view of the lake) with a queen sized bed, 2nd bedroom with queen sized bed (view of the lake) and a "bunk room" that can sleep up to 3 (bunk bed with trundle mattress).
The living room is cozy and comfortable and there is also a 'playroom' with games and toys and can be converted into an additional sleeping area with an inflatable mattress. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a dishwasher. There is a washer and dryer. The living room has a Smart TV with FuboTV to access most channels and a DVD player, no cable available, feel free to use your Netflix, Hulu or Amazon Prime accounts. Internet access is provided along with a desk area for those who must work remotely.
The dining room can seat up to 8 people and includes magnificent views across the lake. A perfect place to watch the sunset while you eat or you can eat outdoors on the lake!
Outside, you will find all the amenities including a grill, 2 picnic tables, a screen house by the lake, fire pit and access to the nearby beach. It also includes the use of a 40' dock, 3 kayaks (one is a double), and a rowboat along with life preservers. Motorboat access to lake at public beach. Motorboat not included.

We had a great week here! The lake was SO quiet and peaceful, we barely saw anyone the entire time. We made great use of taking the kayaks out almost everyday and my three boys loved all of the outdoor and indoor toys. The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The house is a short drive from Wolfeboro which is a really nice little downtown with shops and restaurants. Highly recommend and would love to come back!

This property was perfect for my family. It is located right on Shaw's pond, so my sons were able to walk out the door to fish. There was a play room for thw little ones, and ample room for all our stuff.

This was our second stay at this house. Very relaxing location. Lake is very quiet and the waterfront area is perfect.

We loved this property. It was very clean and exactly as described. The back yard and waterfront area was extremely private and quiet even though the home is located off of a busier âhighwayâ. Be aware this isnât a home in a private neighborhood but honestly you would never know it when in the backyard. We have 3 kids, the youngest being 3 and kept an eye on them going in/out of the house but the home is set far enough back from the road that I didnât feel concerned with the busy road in front. There are neighbors that are close by however neither were occupied during our week, one doesnât have a dock and the other has a very small one so I canât imagine even if they are in their homes that it would impact the feeling of being alone while floating on the water or playing on the floating dock. The house has everything you need and while it is an updated older home, it felt very comfortable and extremely clean and well taken care of (I am a germophobe and felt more than fine with the home). Itâs an 8 min drive door to door to wolfboro which we visited daily for ice cream, a meal out or to shop. Theyâre are some great cafes and the YumYum Shop for baked goods/ice cream and Baileyâs Bubbles (cash only) are a must!! Bring some sweats for evenings as they get cooler on the water but the fire pit with sâmores and wine is a perfect way to end the day. Owners were extremely responsive, recommend this for a family stay!!

My husband, and kids (15 & 13) stayed a week and felt right at home from the moment we arrived! The house was clean, comfortable and even had two desks if you need dedicated space to get some work done. We enjoyed ALL of the outdoor amenities which were in great condition - grill, picnic tables, outdoor couch, lounge chairs, porch house with reading chair and card table, fire pit, kayaks and row boats. The small lake is so peaceful without constant boat traffic and jet skis. Rob & Gevry were responsive to all of my questions during our stay. We hope to return one day!

Family friendly home with a nice backyard. The pond was quiet, serene and peaceful. I caught 2 Bass, one large mouth about 4 lbs. which made my vacation even more special. Enjoyed being close enough to Wolfeboro for shopping but far enough away from the noise and traffic.

The Lakehouse was the perfect summer getaway for our family (2 adults and 4 teens). The house was so clean and had everything we needed. We made a quick trip to the market in Wolfboro and made most meals at the house.
It is perfectly situated on the lake. The lake itself was incredible, even on rainy days we could enjoy the view from the house or the boathouse. Having access to the kayaks and rowboat was great. We could explore the pond or fish or both. The water was perfect, even in early summer it was cool but not cold and very clear.
Thank you Gevry & Rob!!!

We had a wonderful week at this house. Weather was great. The owners keep the house clean and well stocked and didn't have to worry about bringing sheets and towels. Fishing was great and took the kayaks out on several occasions. Beautiful location and great views from the house. Close to Wolfeboro and NH attractions. Would definitely come back here again.

A week of swimming, kayaking and fishing. The pond is very peaceful and the house waterfront makes it really easy to relax, read a book or float on a raft.
Gevry & Rob were helpful and responsive. The house was clean and great location to shops, restaurants and fun day excursions (e.g., Mt. Washington, North Conway, The Lost River Gorge & Boulder Caves).
We would highly recommend as a great family choice.

Lake relaxation
We were looking for a relaxing vacation. This was the spot. Gevry and Rob have a beautiful home. Perfect for our family of 4. The lake views and sunsets were exactly what I had wanted. The house was equipped with everything we needed. We enjoyed the kayaks and relaxed on the hammock. We had fires by the lake while the sun set. The towns nearby had great restaurants, cute shops and mini golf. A great first experience for us using VRBO and Gevry and Rob responded right away with any questions and provided us with all details that we needed to know. Thank you.

Peaceful retreat
This house has it all, location, views, & space. The outside area has a wonderful set up with a fire pit, a screened in hut, & a nice gradual entry into the lake. The kids had fun jumping off the swim dock too! The house itself was clean, spacious, & fully equipped with anything you might need. You are close to town but it feels secluded as the lake is very quiet & peaceful. Thereâs plenty of activities to do & if you do need to work the WiFi was good and there was even a work space which was nice. I would definitely recommend staying here!

A Relaxing Setting
I spent a week at this property with my wife and my sister's family. The pond was beautiful, great for swimming and kayaking, and the house was well equipped and inviting. The beachfront for the house was one of the best I've encountered, with fire pit, an abundance of chairs, and even drink refrigerators in the little house by the shore. The area was perfect for relaxing and for quiet reading. Downtown Wolfeboro was minutes away, and there was plenty to do both at the house and in town. Every property has minor quirks, and this one had a couple. I recommend bringing an Ethernet cable if you intend to use the smart TV. Without one, the TV works very slow off of the WiFi. The WiFi went down a few times over the week, but we were able to reset it easily by unplugging it and plugging it back in. The only real issue we had all week was the fire alarm going off in the middle of the night (there was no fire, and it was probably the result of the heat wave the area was suffering through.) I highly recommend this property, and I would strongly consider renting it again.

Perfect Summer Getaway!
Our family of 5 adults and one toddler found this house to be the perfect summer vacation home. You are close enough to Wolfboro and Lake Winnipesaukee that you can do all the tourist things but then come back to your quiet beautiful little lake. We loved the kayaks and fishing off the dock, even had a family of ducks that came by regularly! The house had everything we needed. We would definitely recommend this house to anyone wanting a great peaceful place on a beautiful lake!

Perfect idyllic retreat
The location on Shaw's pond couldn't have been more perfect. We had a blast using the kayaks - that was a big part of why we chose this place. The swim dock was also lots of fun. Found some great food, ice cream and beer in nearby Wolfeboro. (and had a Mitt Romney sighting too - apparently they own a house nearby). Hosts even left us a few brews in the fridge. :) Wifi stopped working our last night - hopefully that's been addressed. Just a warning that the layout of the house is a bit strange. The only full bath is on the first floor, and all 3 bedrooms are on the second floor. There is a half bath upstairs. The conditions were clean - nothing fancy but perfectly adequate. Lots of towels - both beach and bath. Not many toiletries provided (a tiny half empty shampoo bottle and a big bottle of body wash) so bring your own necessities. Hammock was not in the stand as pictured, but we had brought our own, so that was fine. The lake was very quiet and peaceful. Lovely place.

Perfect, lake front getaway
We are a family of 5 and rented this property in hopes of enjoying a stay on the lake for a few days and we were not disappointed. It's a very welcoming home!
Very clean and comfortable.
We enjoyed swimming, kayaking, fishing...and the sunset was amazing.
Highly recommend it!

My parents came over from ENgland and we have rented lake houses before. This house was perfect and the lake is so nice. Lots of floating and swimming and fishing. No one around. Sun comes up later onto lake area which suited a lie in and a late breakfast. Then we were there at the âGolden Hourâ after dinner. So many photos and good memories. Thank you.

Thank you for your hospitality!
Thank you for your hospitality! We enjoyed our time at the Pond. It was very peaceful and quiet.
The house has a wonderful set up for young families. The layout is open and it was very well stocked with everything you might need for a young family. The kitchen and baths are newly renovated and very nice.
I would suggest that you mention that there are multiple camera's on the property. You responded promptly to our concern and mentioned that it was okay to unplug the cameras in the house during our stay. We were unable to unplug the camera on the garage which was pointed into the kitchen area, where the shower was, and it was very uncomfortable not being able to close a curtain.
The outdoor area is a bit challenging for kids under three without fencing around the retaining wall. I would say that it is best suited for children 5 and over.
I hope the suggestions help for future rentals. We look forward to visiting again in a few years.

The property was well maintained and in a great location.
We had a wonderful time in NH. The house was peaceful, nice and cozy. My kids enjoyed the boat rides and the view of the lake. We had the opportunity to explore the surrounding areas and enjoy the nature and the tranquility that New Hampshire has to offer.

Week at Shaw's Pond
Great fishing and very peaceful. Very little boat traffic so getting around was very easy.
The house was very nice. Updated bathrooms, kitchen was spaceous enough .
Gas grill was fine (needs adjustment) last burner on right would not light.
Beachfront was adequate but wished it was a little more sandy for the little ones but swimming was very good and great secondary raft away from the dock.
Overall enjoyed the week and it was a very peaceful place

A truly amazing get-away!
We loved this house! My kids loved this house! There is so much to do outside-we stayed busy the entire 5 days we were there. Kayaking, paddle boating. fishing from the row boat, jumping off the floating dock, swimming-all in a beautiful and peaceful setting. The boat house is a great added benefit and we enjoyed playing games and eating lunch right by the water. Rob has everything at the house you would need, including life jackets, water toys, and beach towels. The house itself is very comfortable and has everything you need; the view from the dining room window is priceless! Wolfeboro is a very easy drive should you need groceries, etc. A great, relaxing retreat! We hope to return!

The most beautiful view and kid friendly home
We looked for days seeking the best lake view and a kid friendly home. Rob's home fit both perfectly! He called me right after I inquired last minute and was extremely flexible and accommodating. The home has everything you could need- super fast wifi, plenty of towels, little shampoos and bath stuff for guests, extra sheets, plenty of detergent (perfume free, which was great since we have a special needs child. I think the whole home is pretty allergen free which was wonderful!) and washer/dryer, as well as a really fun kids room with lots of toys and a cute little desk with paints and coloring books ready to use. Plenty of pots of pans, cooking stuff, bbq things, boats, kayaks, paddle boat, private dock. They have way more than listed on the site. Be aware of falling acorns in the fall, I contacted Rob late at night after hearing something outside and he answered right away assuring us the noise was just the acorns hitting the roof, which it was and was actually kind of cool after we knew what it was since we are from Southern CA and do not have many trees. The cute little town is just a few minutes drive. We will definitely be coming back when it is warmer so we can take advantage of all the cool water toys they have. Thanks so much for everything Rob, we really appreciate it!

Idyllic peaceful setting w/ convenience of home!
My family loved our week in August, staying at the Lake. The water was crystal clear and we had many options for playing in the water. My 20-year old son enjoyed bunking in the screenhouse. While my 22-year old daughter stayed in the the room with the bunkbed; where the top mattress was easily removed. All the beds were very comfortable to sleep on.
There is an awesome view of the lake from the dining area, where we saw several wonderful sunsets, which reflected off the water. We enjoyed roasting marshmallows in the backyard firepit and barbecuing on the gas grill.
The Lakehouse is equipped with every electrical convenience you could ask for; WiFi, televisions, a dishwasher. Even the utensil drawers were well stocked, as were all the dishes, pots and pans. All the linens were provided, including a basket filled with beach towels for all ages. And when you needed your clothes and towels washed, there was another convenience available, a washer and dryer in the unfinished basement.
When we wanted more activity, we would drive 10- 15 minutes to Wolfeboro, for shopping, dining and entertainment. It was easy to get to and easy to locate a parking spot in close proximity to where we wanted to go. There a a couple markets in the downtown area to shop for those perishable groceries and a Super Wal-Mart store is not too far away (about 15- 20 miles) to purchase staple items to stock your food shelves, when you arrive, If you don't bring them with you. We were running out of space in our car while packing, so decided not to bring these items. My husband researched the area for grocery stores and Wal-Mart was the closest one that would have everything we needed.
We loved the peace and quiet of the Lake house and would not think twice about continuing to rent this property another year when we just wanted to unwind and rejuvenate our selves after a busy and stressful summer.
