The staff were very friendly. The food was amazing and very reasonably priced. The restaurant and bar looked to have been refurbished which was very modern.
The room was dated compared to the facilities downstairs but was clean.

The bed was very comfortable
The gentleman who helped us with breakfast was very nice
From start to end:
We arrived early so weren't allowed to do an early check-in, went sightseeing but had to rush back as last check in was at 8pm.
We arrived for the check-in which happens in a pub where we were asked for our name and to pay for the stay and then left standing while the same person started serving pints. We insisted "where are we supposed to go" and only then they pointed in the direction of the rooms and handed us the keys. The staff was literally shouting at us as the music at the pub was so loud we could barely ear each other. The bathroom is shared but its ok, although the lack of privacy is shocking as the way from bathroom to rooms you can still see the people at the pub.
The room itself was not too bad but it was the worst night of my life has it was a Saturday night the music was so loud that we could listen to every single one of them, you can also ear the people on the street chatting. The music does finish at midnight, but if you are expecting to have an early night of peace and quiet (as we were 1:30h walk from city centre), forget about it! It felt like I was in a nightmare as I had to wake up very early the next morning, we had a 2hour drive ahead of us we want to rest, but forget about that. We tried to watch a movie in a phone to try and block the music out, but the music still managed to be louder than most of the film. In the end I can say it was the worst place I've ever stayed at.

The staff were friendly. The food in the restaurant was good.
The beds were ridiculously creaky. The hot tap.in my room didn't work. The music in the bar was too loud and was clearly heard in our rooms and didn't go off until after midnight , the karaoke was horrendous, peopke screaming. breakfast was basic, the restaurant didn't open until 9am but the chef didn't turn up until 9. 45 which was too late for us to have cooked items for breakfast as we had to travel on. In the morning, none of the lights worked in any of the 3 rooms I booked. Location was excellent and it was clean but I cannot recommend staying there and I cancelled my other booking with them as I wouldn't stay there again.

The location was perfect
The food was delicious
The staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for us.
Could do with up dating the decor in the rooms, but they were still very comfortable.

The distance from the pool which my daughter was competing at the next day.
On arrival we had to walk through a busy bar to get to our room. If you wanted to go out you had to walk through the bar and people smoking at the door. *I feel this should have been mentioned when selling the room especially when booking with a child.
The room was freezing - even with a heater on - but cold air was coming in the window.
The room was very basic but functional.
We stayed 3 hours (5.30-8.30) as at 8pm just as my daughter was going to sleep- loud music started playing. So loud it was like it was a disco in our room! So at 8.30pm I had to book another hotel to take my daughter to!

Room was spacious and Clean. Approachable. Had Pub and Restaurant .
Staff behaviour: Most staff were well but some were rude and dismissive. I had to extend my stay. As a result I requested them. Which they oblige. I was so happy and grateful.I requested to be in same room but they refused. They ask me to shoot to another room when ready. I am a photographer and blogger I move with a lot of gear. Anyway I shifted. That cost me over 2 hrs of my valuable travel time. Any way I reconcile with it But to my surprise Then on my return I become aware that my room was changed again. My good were transferred to other or previous room,
Trouble started here. I was missing my charger which was worth moreqthen room stay, I was missing my water bottle and tongue cleaner . I requested a review.
One of staff blew her cigarette smoke on my face, which was not polite and they were rough. I took this issue with them and after. a while some one come to help but in vain. Imagine I returned to take rest at night I felt restless.
Next window needs better sound proofing .
Next restaurant close operation at 8 PM I think service up to 10 PM would have ween great.

Breakfast was awful . tiny cereal boxes of either rice crispies or cornflakes , packet croissants , yoghurt and mouldy grapes .
Bar was directly underneath the rooms , TOTALLY noisy all people in rooms were complaining ,one man packed up his luggage at 11.45 and said he was going . Honestly my elder son is in a band , it was as loud as that maybe louder , The bass was making my bed shake , i went down more then once and said turn your bass down ..he just smiled and did it and then as soon as i got back upstairs it went back up again ! people smoking cannabis outside the front door , people screaming outside front of pub .. Oo and they FORGET to mention on their site . They also have a function room underneath which has also loud music which goes on to 1am , so when the music stops in pub about midnight you get more noise .. You honestly cannot sleep here .. im not over exaggerating im telling truth ! They need to decide if they are are a club /bar or a B&B
cant have both as no one can sleep . room was ok in itself but had no hangers . shower tray didnt empty vry quickly and curtain was broke didnt close

This is not a sports bar ! dont be fooled by the description .. Music isnt music its CLUB style people dressed if they are clubbing , its not a normal pub ! YOU RELALY WONT GET ANY SLEEP HERE !! at weekend havent tried week day ! it says music friday , sat & sunday ..we travelled for my sons swimming gala which was British championships so a BIG event . we travelled by plane from London .. it was an important event for him .. he had no sleep either day and his performance showed in the pool , by the lack of sleep he had here , Really angry was really a total waste of us coming to Scotland for this event due to him having NO SLEEP .. I want my money back ! as i said i wasnt only person wanting their money back i spoke to 2 other people on landing all complaining they cant sleep A DISGRACE should be taken on this site !!!

Was clean.
No reception, entrance through a bar. Full of drunk people almost feel down on me. I had to make space and be aware passing to the room. No bathroom inside the room. 6 rooms for 1 bathroom and 2 toilets. Cold over the night. They say on booking that they offer breakfast included in the price and in the morning you wake up with an empty table. Will definitely not use again.

The room was comfortable and the breakfast room was nice. The bar staff were great.
The bedside drawer, shower head and towel rail was broken. There was no where to get ready (i.e. a plug beside a mirror). Fob access for the front door would be better as I was locked outside the building.

Staff were great, and friendly.
Alana was great, she was especially helpful. She recommended food available for lunch, and was really cheerful and was full of smiles. Breakfast was great, and Alana made sure we were made comfortable and made sure we had a lovely time. It was a lovely experience, and would book again
Had to be back by midnight, although staff let us in not a problem as we were late getting back

The hotel was clean
The mattress on the bed was too soft, non supportive and uncomfortable.
The breakfast included in the price was only a continental however that was only cereal, fruit and a yoghurt. The first morning we were additionally offered toast and orange juice. This was not even offered on the second morning.
Also on our return to the hotel on the second night the doors were locked. The doorbell had no response and the telephone number has no option to contact anyone at night. We eventually got someone to open the door after banging on it several times, only to find the person had been sat at the bar which is immediately inside the main door
4.5
The price was good enough for one night
The continental breakfast and that we were told we needed to pay for cook breakfast when we thought was in the price bit short for choice and had no orange juice
