Gemütliches Ryokan mit gut gepflegten, authentischen Räumen und tollem Essen

Das Personal war außerordentlich freundlich. Wir haben das Ryokan Tanabe für eine Übernachtung genutzt, um zur Mitte einer von Aktivitäten und Sightseeing geprägten Japan-Rundreise zwischendurch mal einen Tag/Abend so richtig abzuschalten - dafür ist es ideal. Die Tatami-Räume versprühen dafür einen wirklich ganz besonderen Flair. Die Onsenbäder haben wir aufgrund der Witterung wiederum nicht genutzt. Ein absolutes Highlight des Aufenthalts war natürlich das auf dem Zimmer servierte Dinner. Hier wurde uns eine Vielzahl köstlicher und äußerst liebevoll präsentierter Speisen serviert - auch für in der japanischen Küche mäßig bewanderte Besucher sollte es nicht schwer sein, diese Köstlichkeiten wertzuschätzen und ihnen etwas abzugewinnen. Besonders das Abendessen war sehr reichhaltig und gehaltvoll, das Frühstück war dann (vernünftigerweise) etwas leichter, aber ebenfalls sehr lecker und voller interessanter Entdeckungen.

Kein Problem, eigentlich nur eine Beobachtung: während uns beim Abendessen alle Komponenten genau erklärt und dazu auf einem (japanisch-sprachigen) Menü beschrieben wurden, fand eine derartige Erklärung beim Frühstück nicht statt - da mussten wir teilweise ein wenig raten, was wir da leckeres zu uns nehmen.

Ein Juwel in Takayama

Der Aufenthalt im Ganzen war ein Erlebnis an sich, vom Willkomenstee, dem wunderschönen Onsen sowie dem Abendessen und Frühstück. Das Essen war definitiv eines der Highlights. Die Zimmer sind sehr schön, das Bad groß und super sauber. Wenn man den Aufwand betrachtet, stehen Preis und Leistung absolut im Verhältnis. In allen Bereichen wird auf eine hohe Qualität geachtet.

Leider waren wir nur zwei Nächte da.

La struttura originale molto bella e anche gli spazi comuni , vicino alla parte vecchia della città e facilmente raggiungibile dalla stazione

Excelente ryokan, de preciosa decoración y con todas las comodidades usuales de este tipo de hoteles. La habitación era cómoda y preciosa. El desayuno y la cena, de estilo tradicional, abundantes, muy rico y servido en vajilla tradicional. El onsen estupendo (con también dos bañeras exteriores). Personal encantador

Truly japanese experience. Accommodation is surprising and stunning. Public bath so nice, traditional. Staff was so kind and gentle, always ready to help and support us. Kaiseki dinner was as amazing as typical japanese breakfast. Good position!

If you're looking for a real Japanese experience from the food to every detail in the room then that's the right place for you. Staff are mainly elder Japanese ladies who are really nice and friendly. Makes the experience much more authentic.

Well sleeping on a Japanese tatami mat isn't comfortable but it's part of the Japanese experience can't complain :)

Very nice and traditional Ryokan near the main attraction of Takayama.The staff was always attentive and welcoming with us. The traditional Japan dinner and breakfast are served in your room at specific times and with a fix menù so l suggest this experience only to who is open to try new and very different tastes compared to our usual continental dinners.Overall an excellent stay!

A nice feeling of tradition in a modern building with great food

Beautiful place giving the feeling of a traditional Japanese home within the walls of the room. Food served in the room was an event worth the money with a great selection and high standard.

The onsen was a relatively low temperature bath (28 C) with fresh water (450 ppm) and honestly a bit disappointing compared to other onsen in Japan.

A perfect, authentic Japanese experience!

The hospitality was wonderful, the onsen was peaceful, and the meals were amazing! Such a great location, too! We walked everywhere from our ryokan. Loved every minute at Ryokan Tanabe!

fantastic traditional ryokan in the historical centre of Takayama. great food and good value for money

very friendly staff, everything worked very well - dinner set up, making up the room for sleeping, etc. the food was excellent, beds were super comfortable, onsen was lovely and quiet - we were alone. great location. would recommend and stay again!

the hotel is bigger than we expected and on the main road - but once you’re in your room you can’t hear anything. the view from the room is the back of another building, so better keep the curtains closed. really nothing to complain about though!

Friendly staff, location, on-site onsen, excellent food (dinner and breakfast), room and service style, yucatas/slippers provided, tea served on arrival.

wonderful!

Very nice centrally located ryokan with extremely friendly and courteous staff. The rooms are bright and friendly. Onsen are separated by women and men and also very nice. There are great care products there. Our room was very large with tatami and comfortable beds. The highlight was the food. You have to experience it. All in all wonderful.

Fabulous and friendly staff, very nice new tatami room, and excellent food. The location was perfect, too.

The onsen bath was just so-so (small and a bit dark). But the regular bath in the room was nice and bright, in contrast.

Good service, good staff, nice position.

All staff are very very nice, feel like at home. Dinner and break fast served in room, which is not often for this category of price. Food were good with local specialities. And really good location, in center of Takayama. Can go everywhere by walk. A lot of restaurant around.

Maybe my room was next to the kitchen, so I could hear people talking from beginning of my dinner until before I went to bed. Otherwise all were good.
