Mr Gomez has created a tranquil tropical paradise. Beautiful gardens around the rooms. A lovely pool to cool off in. The staff work hard to make sure your stay is perfect. Mr Gomez is a lovey person and always there if you need him giving tips to make your stay in Negombo memorable. Breakfast is as you like it when you like it. And is delicious.
I liked everything about Gomez's place.

This is a very unique hotel. The room were super comfortable, the breakfast was amazing and super filling, and Gomez is a great host. He makes you feel like guest at his house, rather than a guest at a hotel. There is a nice swimming pool, beautiful garden, and great place to meet fellow travellers if you wish, or be left alone if you dont feel like talking. Gomez is a great host and he will ensure you get everything you need during your stay, no judging on his side!
all was great!

The location is quite good as it's close to some good bars, restaurants and the beach. Nevertheless, it was very quiet.
It's also only a 20/30 minute drive from Colombo airport, making it the perfect hub after and before your flight.
The accommodation looks quite nice and well maintained. The swimming pool and the rest of the area is very nice and private, as it's out of sight of other buildings.
The staff was also very friendly and provided us with everything we needed, like pool towels, drinks, etcetera.
Beds were a bit hard for us.
Bathroom smelled a bit funny, because it stays moist for quite a while after taking a shower.
That seems a common problem in Sri Lanka though, as we've experienced this in multiple places.

the staff is sweet.
Got the wrong room, instead we got one that was simply not what we paid for. we paid almost 70 dollars a night for a room with so disgusting bedding we didn’t even want to sleep in it. toast with a slice of hamburger cheese and warm juice is simply not a good breakfast. so many mosquitos you couldn’t even sit outside.

Had upstairs room due to hotel having no ground floors open

Fantastic place, one of my favorite stays in all Sri Lanka. The room is huge, with a small kitchenette and a seating area with a big table. Big outdoor bathroom, just loved looking at the sky while taking a shower. Room with lots of space, which gives you a great sensation, own terrace with table and chairs in front of the room. Gomez Place has a rich vegetation, trees and plants, the place is very cozy and well looked after, great setup. Delicious breakfast and food, nice pool. Great and quiet location, located in a nice neighborhood side street. Only a couple of minutes walk to the main beach road with lots of shops, restaurants and the beach. Owner and staff are great and assist you with everything you need. Very happy with my stay, absolutely recommended.

Nicely designed hotel, lovely pool to relax, excelent and tasty breakfasts!!, good location - near to the beach, all bars and restaurants, but still far from the noise of the main street.
Mr. Gomez, the boss, is very kind and helpful, he arranged everything what we wanted (spa massage, taxi to airport, printing of documents..). He really cares about the hotel and his guests, real hotel manager!
Thank you
Cocroaches (maybe it is normal in this city area..?), but we got a room changed (personally arranged by the boss) and then it was fine (the new room had an inside bathroom, the previous one had a semi-open roof bathroom, which was surely the reason… so worth spending a bit more for the better room, in case you are afraid of “the beasts” like me :))

Nothing.

Another guests were friendly.
The room was wonderful, clean, and perfect to relaxing.
They were extremely accommodating and allowed me to check in early at like 7am.
Thank you.
Mosquitoes :) Don't worry. It's okay.

If there is a perfect embodiment of Sri Lanka, then it should be the Gomez place. Hospitable, pictiuesque, generous, colorful, extravagant, embracing...The Eglish language is short of adjectives to adequately describe it:) . Staying there for quite a while, you can enjoy tastes and flavors of the local cuisine, have a laizy breakfast amidts the sounds of awakening birds (and never sleeping flies), stroll across a cozy courtyard, sleep under soothing sounds of the aircon and fan, and take a shower in a practically roofless shower cabin and say hi to a small and lovely gekko on the wall.- and mind you, the hot water is always there!
The facility even boasts its own poll- small but nice and deep and clean, and sunbeds are there to rest- only be quick enough to get them in the morning.
However, beach spans for miles in just 7 min on foot, so take a short cut through any of local beach restaurants to enjoy a wide strip of( not immaculately clean but who cares!) sand or, better still, go to a beach hotel and get sunbeds and a parasol for just USD 10-14 a day.
On top of that, at Gomeyou can meet people of all nations and walks of life staying there, and your interaction with them will be inspired by Gomez himself - a heartfelt chap with a unique talent to be in a dozen of spots at the same time and get the show on he road in no time. Fancy a trip across the island? Gomez gives you the best guide. Need a good restaurant? Ask Gomez and you will never be disappointed. Want to go shopping? He seems to have friends everywhere across Sri Lanka and they will be happy to help you, too,
Even if you need a decent broadband to work, ask Gomez and he will fix it for you
His team is no less amazing and extremely effiicient and heartfelt- one should have seen how they decorated our room on my wife's brthday and what a nice cake they got for her.
You should bear in mind you are at the equator, so mosquitos and flies will be your cmmittted companions throughout the stay, so do not dramatize that much- on he second day, you will simply learn how to ignore them.
Also, note that walls facing the courtyard are thin, so you can hear others in the courtyard, but trust me, this is something you can live with as many guests' cultural code is different from yours.

Room is huge, clean. Great value especially considering it’s price. The owner is always helpful and welcoming. And the location is also close to every bar and restaurant and beach you want to spend the time in.
Only problem is mosquito. As the garden is nice and full of water, mosquitoes swarm whenever flesh appears. The balm helps a lot but still prevents you from sitting outside. Would be great if pest control is better.

Gomez & his well trained staff make you feel at home. The hotel itself is in a great location to the beach, restaurants and bars. Great entertaining areas within the hotel to mix with many lovely hotel guests who keep returning including myself. Rooms are a great size with large bathrooms. I was well looked, late check out is available depending on guests arrival. Was able to stay by the pool the whole day for an early morning flight. Lovely breakfast.
Definitely recommend
