A great experience in a uniquely beautiful area

Wonderful historic property managed by a delightful host Andrew, who was extremely helpful with local advice for food and experiencing the beauty of the Lake District. Andrew was supported by friendly, efficient and extremely helpful staff.

Amazing stay

The place was in a fantastic position for rural walks and just nipping into town the room was immaculate with a great ensuite bed was of good quality and no problem getting to sleep there was no noise at all

A true gem.

Lovely stay.In a very peaceful location and at the same time easily accessible.Lovely room - comfortable bed. Very good breakfast with plenty of choice. Great staff - particular thanks to Janet. Croft Hill is everything that is good about a more traditional,family run accomodation.

Stunning old Georgian manor house with a beautiful spacious windy staircase, very historical feel. Lovely cooked breakfast as well as fresh fruit salad and home made bircher - nice touches! Nice spacious bright bedroom with stunning views over the garden. So quiet and away from any busy roads Janet was a lovely host and very knowledgeable and helpful with local restaurants

My only concern was how long it took for the hot water to come through both tap and shower but understandably in an older house things do take time. Bed was a bit too soft for me as I like a firm mattress

Excellent, definitely would stay again.

Friendly staff, good choices for breakfast, very clean. Tea and coffee with biscuits replenished every day. Plenty of parking.

Beautiful break away

It is a beautiful house and within good distance of lovely places to visit on the west coast. It was extremely clean and well furnished. I slept better there than I have for years. Breakfast was delicious.

Exactly what I wanted. A jewel in West Cumbria.

- Wonderfully friendly and helpful staff. - Excellent breakfast - The most comfortable bed of anywhere I've stayed, with premium quality bedding. Feather pillows and cool cotton. - Perfect location for me: peaceful, great views, nice garden. - A house with character - Walking distance to town centre if you don't mind a good walk, but reasonable for a taxi.

For me it was perfect. If you want a bar and restaurant or want to be in the middle of town, this may not be for you.

The staff at Croft hill guest house were lovely and it felt like a home from home

Clean, warm, nice breakfast and very welcoming staff.

Although the breakfast was amazing, I think it was missing baked beans. However it tasted very nice :)

Spotless. Comfortable room. Looked newly refurbished. Friendly owners/staff. Lovely breakfast. Plenty of parking. Quiet location. Use of garden if required. What more do you need from a B+B?. Visited family in the area. Would definitely stay here again.

So for bed and breakfast you need a comfortable bed that is set away from noisy traffic, a wholesome breakfast so you dont need lunch and pleasant, informative, respectful and good humored staff......TICK, TICK, TICK. Would definitely go back when next in the area
