Good accommodation and pool, very disappointing breakfast for the price

The room and pool were excellent

Breakfast was Asian and not for foreigners. Only curries, rice, Thai coup and for the foreigners not much else. Disappointing. On arrival we were bombarded by 3 men behind the counter, in uniform, to try and persuade us to take the BBQ that evening. This was not appreciated and in fact very unpleasant. On departure the front office girl was very good. There is a general feeling that the staff are not very happy as we had experienced in other hotels.

Nice pool with good cocktails at only 100baht from 12-3pm. View of the sea and sunset. It was my birthday whilst i was there and, presumably having noticed on my passport, they presented me with a cake. Several good restaurants in walking distance.

Felt in need of some investment. Seemed understaffed as rooms weren't ready for 2pm check-in and it took over 20minutes for us to check out, sunbeds werent always clean and ready for use in the mornings etc. Similarly the property seems a little neglected, one night our ac sprayed a fine mist of water everywhere, soaking everything, and one morning, my son's door lock broke, trapping him in the room. To their credit, the staff dealt with both of these things quickly and efficiently as soon as they were made aware of it.

Loved out stay here - just a shame the beach wasn’t sand as the photos showed as that is why we chose it -

Great rooms, position and staff.

We picked the accommodation as the photos showed a sandy beach, so we guessed it would be good as a swimming beach - no such luck, all rocks

The location is good. Food is nice. Rooms are clean. There was a live band and a fire show during our stay. Convenient stores and nice restaurants located around the hotel.

The rooms are old. Check in was extremely slow. Got us checked in only after 3pm. They gave us a free dinner for the late check in but that doesn’t make up the bad experience on arrival for me. Booked 2 beach view rooms and 1 pool view. We got the beach view rooms on the ground floor where half the view is covered by a brick wall. I can’t understand why they would consider that beach and charge extra.

Excellent overall and well worth the money

Property has a nice sand/beach area, and a natural beach during low tide as well as a very spacious Pool. Property has a good selection of Foods at the Breakfast Buffet and and in the Evening Dining and Drinks at the Beach are available.

Wifi was unstable in the room because it was on the edge of the building. Staff still needs more experience, as the area is just opening back up after covid.

A wonderful place to stay.

This hotel is of the highest quality. The rooms are big, comfortable and kept very clean. The pool is superb with lots of sunbeds. More sunbeds are on the hotel beach. A great place to watch the sun set. All of the staff were friendly and very helpful. In Particular, Heng, who always checked that we had everything we needed. We really enjoyed the food here. The breakfast is varied and of high quality. We will stay here again. Excellent value. Of all the hotels we have stayed in many different places in the world, the Awa is definitely one of my favourites. I would highly recommend it.

Superb

Very comfortable and quiet. Beautiful pool and the sea can be accessed via steps. Lots of choice for breakfast and the restaurant food was good too.

There's no beach as such but the sand can be accessed easily at low tide or by walking

Beautiful but impractical.

Unique and beautiful design, large room, beautiful balcony, beautiful swimming pool.

WiFi internet doesn't work at all. Can connect to WiFi, but internet is inexistant. Water not exiting shower floor (flat floor, no slope, blocked drain). Loud music at breakfast. Cold swimming pool. No sand beach. Breakfast chairs are too heavy. Motorbike parking is on other side of the road (not fun/safe to cross). Power outlets near bed (for charging phone) difficult to reach (under bed).

Disappointing

Location and beach

Booked after reading reviews, by people who must of stopped in a different hotel to us. Rooms are very dated and dirty, chipped concrete flooring, dirty curtains and nets, cleaner did a good job everyday and changed towels but there's oy so much you can do with rooms that need renovation, Always felt damp throughout our stay, probably the dated aircon. Breakfast was also disappointing with minimal items available For the money we will go elsewhere next time Sorry AWA..Total let down

Very good hotel, great breakfast with a choice of food, wonderful size pool, happy hour at the bar, helpful staff.

Very poor WIFI, and no direct access to the sea. You have to go down the stairs to the water.

Lovely, once we were able to move rooms.

design and proximity to the beach.

Our first room (2nd floor) was damp and mouldy, the floor was wet every morning. After 2 days we were moved to a higher floor which was better but sadly were not compensated in any way for 2 nights in a damp bed, we did ask but the staff could not offer us anything. We were a little disheartened as this was our honeymoon.

Great stay!.. other than manditory masks and gloves at breakfast buffet.

Beautiful resort, friendly staff, spacious rooms

It is October of 2022 and shockingly, when I visited the breakfast buffet, they handed me plastic gloves and a mask and told me it was manditory to wear.. on an island that is mostly national park reserve, only adding to the plastic waste that ultimately ends up in the ocean.. all so we can "feel safe".. even though most people were immediately discarding them.
