Onsen was lovely - indoor and outdoor. Breakfast and dinner were like being in a Michelin star restaurant! They even were able to make everything vegan for me. The staff were wonderful, exceptionally helpful and polite. Traditional rooms were lovely!
Slightly dated feel (a few old carpets, bathroom was quite old) but nothing to actually be inconvenienced by.

The staff were gracious and kind and welcoming. They made me feel at home. The service was professional. The meal was exquisite.

Amazing Japanese traditional dinner, lovely hot onsen, handy shuttle to and from the train, great rooms with a table and chairs and nice to experience the Japanese way of sleeping on the futons over the beautiful Tatami mats
Communications prior to arrival could have been better

The food was sublime. The staff were so helpful. Beautiful location in the Kiso valley. Shuttle bus service was a great amenity. Good value overall.
The room was comfortable and warm but could have done with some refurbishment. Ask the staff to put down additional mats for a more comfortable night's sleep if you don't like a hard mattress.

Beautifully located resort hotel in the Mountains. so much food was provided at Dinner and Breakfast. super quiet location with good shower and onsen.

The staff were so welcoming and friendly. The kasikei dinner was wonderful and delicious! We used the gorgeous outdoor onsen with morning sun shining into the very pretty, enclosed private garden before a fabulous typical Japanese breakfast. Wish we had been staying longer!

Friendly, helpful staff; spacious room; plentiful breakfast and dinner
it didn’t impact on the enjoyment of my stay at all but the carpet in some common areas is looking very worn

beautiful nestled in the mountains, very authentically Japanese. the onsen is amazing with indoor and outdoor. food is brilliant! helpful and attentive staff.
a little bit cold throughout the building and in the room at night there was a strong draft from the window

The onsen in the establishment was big and lovely with the outdoor onsen right next to the indoor one , which made it easy for us to use the outdoor one despite it being winter. There was a complimentary star gazing trip out at 8.30pm and they supplied a telescope. That was a wonderful experience but bring very warm clothes, especially in winter.

well it’s not as bad as I reviewed. but I think we got the cheaper room.
from booking, this rectangle light type is the old building and cheap than the new building which is what I booked.

Traditional Jspanese breakfast. Excellent service.
This was an older establishment so some furniture and interiors reflect this.

Kaiseki dinner and breakfast were delicious and seasonal. The staff was friendly and attentive. We loved exploring the Kiso River valley: full of hiking, Post Towns, and gorgeous Japanese countryside.

I was picked up and dropped off at tourist office opposite the train station. Lovely staff. Stayed in the old building, Japanese traditional room, shared toilet (super clean), onsen bath (traditional). Amazing Japanese dinner and breakfast (not 'continental') in main diner.
