Onsen + private bathroom both
The bedding was a little bit warm for me.

The staff at the Omodaka could not have been more helpful. The room was great, spacious and clean and comfortable. The facilities, including an Onsen, were fabulous but it was the attitude of the staff that made our stay such a great experience. We were collected from Yudanaka station and given a lift to the start of the Snow Monkey trail.
We also had dinner at the Hotel, which was another great experience and also great value.
Nothing to dislike.

We loved everything. The staff is SO LOVELY! I am so grateful we found this place, thank you!! Will come back for sure!!
4.2
Both Indoor and Outdoor onsens are incredible. Staffs may not speak english but very lovely and willing to help.
A bit walking distance from Shibu onsen public bath area. But if you satisfied with the hotel's onsen, it won't be a problem.
4.2
Location, size of rooms and the Onsens
The pillows were extremely hard, traditional but hard. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay

4.2
hospitality towards a young non japanese man
indoors bath was very hot but the onsen outside was perfect

Huge spacious room. The LA Burger served at its cafe next door was super delicious. Good added on transfer service, to and fro station, and to the snow monkey park .
Interior looks kind of old, and there was a stench from the toilet when I first checked into my room. Well I mentioned that to front desk, and they got some cleaning underway. Slight improvement after.
4.2
The room was very nice and comfortable, wonderful view of the snow falling. Indoor and outdoor onzen. Service was excellent. Free transport to and from train station, also to the snow monkey park. Will visit again.

Very helpful elderly couple at front desk and ready available shuttle on demand
Large room with river and Mountain View
No kettle and hot water provided was not really hot enough.
Pillows were bags of small rocks ( with in western option)
Futons were too hard for our taste but probably normal.
Sadly the onsen was so hot it was not possible to get in it!
The town itself has very little open so meal options were sadly lacking

Beautiful family run, traditional stay.
Picked us up from train and dropped us to monkey park and then back to station when time to leave.
Traditional dinner provided was an Exceptional experience and great value for money.

Spacious rooms. Wonderful kind helpful staff. Beautiful location, great onsen, unique style wood features of the room. Loved the kimonos provided.
Hottest onsen I have been in! Was ok for me but some of my companions struggled.

This hotel is amazing!! The owners are so lovely and kind - they picked us up from the bus stop and also dropped us in the town after we’d checked out. The traditional dinner was UNREAL - could not recommend more highly! Gorgeous traditional rooms! Loved our stay!

Great Onsen and excellent value for money. Cafe serves the best burgers.
Futon and pillows were a bit uncomfortable for us Australian travellers.

The location was quite nice for a 1-2 day stay. Walking distance to the monkey park( if you are ready to walk 2.5 km, but during winter it’s a nice walk) The onsen town is quite atmospheric as well. The onsen inside the hotel was great. It can get a little bit too hot, but the open air one usually has a nice temperature( during winter at least) The rooms are spacious, really warm, authentic and clean.
The location is nice if you want to visit the monkey park and go for some skiing at Shiga Kogen. But other than that, there is not a lot to do. If you are looking for a relaxing stay it’s really nice, but if you want to explore it might be a bit boring. The place is also quite remote so the trip to central Nagano city will set you back 1300 yen one way. Which adds up a lot when you travel with a family. The nearest combini is also 15 minutes away by foot and the food options in the hotel itself were quite limited and frankly a little bit too expensive. There is no private onsen, but it wasn’t a problem for us since there were not a lot of people bathing at one time, so it felt almost private.
4.2
Family run traditional Japanese hotel with tatami rooms and futons for bedding. The hosts were very helpful even with their limited English and made our stay very comfortable.
The hotel is not new and updated, conveniences like usb charging is not available.
4.2
The open air bath was very nice. The dinner was also very delicious and they accommodated my allergy very well. The room was large and comfortable as well.
The individual room bathroom didn’t provide shampoo or conditioner and the heaters in the rooms only had one heat setting so it got very hot when it was on.
4.2
It was cool to see a traditional style Japanese room. The city was quite nice, and the staff were very friendly and thorough in the welcome and induction.
I booked this hotel specifically because I wanted to visit the 9 public onsens. I emailed around and this hotel said I could if I stayed here.
When I arrived they told me I had to walk 30 minutes to a shop to get the key that would give me access, and that it closed at 9pm.
I went there at 6 and the store was closed.
I went back to the hotel, and the in-house onsen was very disappointing.
A lady mentioned that only hotels within shibu can visit and this hotel is not.
I had previously booked a cheaper hotel with a better in-house onsen outside the shibu area, but changed the booking specific for the 9 onsens.
I wouldn’t book here again as there are cheaper better places.
4.2
Incredible!
The best onsen in the area - it faces the mountains and sunset and stars at night. Steaming hot.
Van ride to and from the station - arranged a ride to the monkey park and an excellent breakfast.
I’ll absolutely be coming back - thanks!!

Extra.

The room was larger than we had expected and the views we had were spectacular. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The dinner we ordered from the hotel was excellent. I used the bath facilities and, again, was wowed by the view from the outdoor bath. We would absolutely love to stay here again.

Personeel was bijzonder gastvrij! Verder heerlijk traditioneel Japans hotel!
4.2
Room included breakfast and we paid extra for the evening meal, they were able to provide meals for 2 vegetarians and 1 Vegan means on both days. they did an exceptional job accommodating our dietary needs.
great views from the room, room was a good size,

This was such a quirky hotel. We were picked up by shuttle from the station. We did the dinner, bed and breakfast option. It was such a great experience. Dinner was served in a banquet room for us. 4 of our group didn't eat fish and so they adapted the menu. We also got dropped to the monkey park and they showed how to get back by bus. Loved the hot springs and beauty products. Mountain views from our room
Futons on the floor. Great fun
4.2
Wonderful location with panoramic views. Everything you expect in a Ryokan at this price. Excellent food and the staff went out of their way to be as helpful as possible, including transfers from the station.
4.2
Proximity to snow monkey park. Friendly staff.
Outdated. Need to pass a bridge and walk 15 min to in the dark get to town - not really convenient at night.
4.2

Everything is a bit older in this building.

Friendly staff, they offered to take us to Snow Monkey Park with hotel shuttle bus.
Nice view on the mountains from the outdoor onsen, great experience.
A little far off the village, but it is a nice walk next to the river
