Nice hotel with good location. We had good breakfast on the terrace directly towards the sea. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

I would stay again

The location was good on the seafront, its sister hotel (Savoy) across the road, and the stay came with the use of their facilities. The staff were very helpful and friendly. It is a few metres from the Lungomare, a beautiful paved 12km promenade walk to villages on either side of Opatija. A good selection for a buffet breakfast. Rooms were large, and clean, with a minibar/fridge, and a comfortable bed. The bathroom was clean and functional.

The room was very hot and stuffy. The A/C was ineffective, and the windows/doors were approx 10' or 3.05m high and opened out onto a balcony which had open access to other rooms and the hotel's rear entrance, making ventilation difficult. The doors between the breakfast room and the open veranda dining area were open, enabling half a dozen pigeons to join us for breakfast - they were on the floor, on the tables and flying around the breakfast room. Guests were left to try and remove them. The general aura of the hotel was dated.

Hotel in a great location

The location is excellent. Parking was close by. The front desk was very helpful.

The pillows were not comfortable and the breakfast was not great. The eggs were fried sometime before we arrived and were stacked on top of each other and the coffee was undrinkable - we thought it was probably instant.

Stay in centre if Opatija

Great location in the centre of town. Breakfast was good, lots of choice. Our rooms was out the back of the hotel with a balcony, was nice and quite and the balcony was great to have so we could sit outside.

Bit aged so decor was a little worn in places. Quite a small bathroom.

This is not worth half of a price they got.

photos on booking, view from the room,

ther are lying about view , they are selling photos from next hotel. there is nothing in this hotel, no beach, you have to cross main road in Opatija, then thru stands and bars into neighbours hotel to the beach. Spa and swimmingpool is also all that way away.

Good ambiance, generally clean, perfect view on the sea, very good breakfast, good parking facility.

Nicole and all the team at the reception were perfect, the rest of the service at the breakfast was magnificent and very helpful the exception of one called Andrea who was extremely rude and very disrespectful, not getting us, when I asked for a little bit milk she was very mad, not smiling and she gave me the pitcher back with milk at the breakfast bar without saying one single word. Andrea, when we came 10 minutes prior to 10 am, was already mad and said to us in a strict tone: "you have ten minutes to take what you need, hurry up, at 10 I will take everything back to the kitchen!", not even greeting us by asking if we slept well and if we have any requirement, it would have been absolutely acceptable to tell us that food will be taken back to the kitchen within 10 minutes but with a smile and gently said it would have been way less aggressive. At the Spa in Savoy facilities, we had an excellent relationship with the manager there. She resolved a miscommunication issue in terms of scheduling our massage session and the spa was amazing. We will return to Galeb Hotel because in general speaking all the team is doing a lot of efforts to bring a good spirit and smile in our experience, sometimes only one person can dark everything just by not understanding the notion of teamwork. But for me, this is incident is only there to let know Galeb about it, but it doesn't impact my stay at Galeb and my experience. Best Regards, Marjan and Verica

Maybe the mattresses should be softer and more comfortable. Also, it would be great to add a front mesh frame on the balcony door against the mosquitos, the type of light frame that can be open and closed or pulled up and down to protect us against the mosquitos. I was full of mosquito bites when I came back to Brussels. Get also the door with a system that would void any issue if we forget the key inside of the door positioned behind the door when inadvertly we close the door and then we cannot open it due to the fact that the key is on the back of the door and even with another key we cannot enter anymore in the room. This is very annoying and needs to be improved asap. Thanks

Nice hotel, nice experience

Well maintained. Slightly older hotel but feels nice. Upper 3* rating for sure. Rooms clean, bathroom like new. Breakfast was plentiful. Location is perfect, directly at the walking path and town center.
