The Timble Inn lies at the heart of a small hamlet beautifully situated in the Washburn Valley - in an area of outstanding natural beauty. It’s relatively isolated, and we took an extremely narrow road from near the Swinsty reservoir to reach the Inn. There are no passing places, so it’s a nerve-racking journey, hoping you don’t meet anyone from the opposite direction. Reaching Timble from the West is much easier (from A59 / Blubberhouses).
The Inn itself is charming. It’s an 18th Century Coaching Inn, and from the moment you step through the front door, you find yourself in the middle of the bar/restaurant, which looks warm and welcoming. The absence of a formal reception was a little strange, but the staff were attentive and welcoming, so we were quickly put at ease. The bar has been tastefully decorated – spending time there is a pleasure.
Our room was in a separate building at the back of the Inn. It looked relatively small from the outside (as if it was formally a storeroom), but once inside, it was comfortable, but slightly dated. It has the advantage of being quiet, so we had a perfect night’s rest later. We dined in their restaurant, which was very busy and popular with locals – always a good sign. The menu was very original, our meals were delicious, and they had an excellent wine list. Once again, a special mention for the personnel, who were helpful, informal, and professional. Breakfast the following day was equally good, with many options, all cooked to order. The Inn is worth a visit, just for the fine dining. We highly recommend the Timble Inn to anyone looking for a restful, romantic break in the middle of the English countryside.
A few words about the location: the village of Timble is pretty, and it’s just a mile or two walk down to the Swinsty and Hewston Reservoirs, where there are many walks, as well as the Washburn Heritage Centre.
The room was smaller than in many places we stay, and slightly dated, but also very comfortable.

Super Friendly staff, excellent food, a very old feel about it with a modern twist. The maitre d’ cannot have been more helpful and was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Three bikers are very happy.
We didn’t stay longer.

the breakfast was really good, a huge selection on offer of fresh produce ,the full Yorkshire was amazing. and juice drinks great , the front of house staff are a credit to the business as so are the chefs, PERFECT .
the Timble inn is so close to some great countryside and walks abundant. Hope skip and a jump and into Otley with great forest walks and a town centre that offers a selection of all types of shops and curiosity's, Pubs galore .
as with almost all establishments water used to fill tea pot comes from the coffee machine hence not at boiling point when tea added only a small point but when like me a cup of tea enthusiast it does make a difference , We realised to late to make a difference but the restaurant has a slightly alternative menu for residents with alternatives we assume and possibly different pricing ? this became apparent after talking to other residents, Not so sure why not offered to us?.
I believed and this was advertised that I was in a 5 star inn so why did I have to ask for daily room checks?
the mark i gave for the timble inn is solely based on what I expected on cleanliness issues for a five star rated property ,
don't be put off by my remarks I have very high expectations but at end of day 5 stars rating come with AA conditions perhaps this needs looking at by present owner on house keeping side?

The property was beautiful and in a stunning location. We were warmly greeted by Enzo, who was amazing during our stay, very attentive and friendly. The room was well equipped with everything you could need and more. The breakfast was the best we have ever eaten, the sausages and bacon were very high quality and cooked to perfection. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and we are already thinking about our next visit.
