We love that it was on the beach and very intimate. 15 rooms I believe. We stayed in a superior ocean view Casita. Super comfortable, great views, huge bathroom, really clean and nice. We were traveling with another couple who were right next-door, which made it very nice. Breakfast was very good, I wish they had chaises at the beach. We’re not windsurfers, and it felt like most ghuests were. The Ventana Beach area was really all about it - fun to watch. Springis the wnd season. . Breezy in the afternoons :-) So afternoons are windy but the rest of the time was quite beautiful.
I didn’t like there was no dinner option. I wish there was a hot tub or a small pool. Again I wish there were some chaises at the beach.

The place is relaxing, and Mr. Moreno was very friendly and made us feel welcome.

This resort is a hidden gem. We loved our stay and felt like we had the resort to ourselves. There were a few other rooms booked but we hardly ever saw anyone. The top floor bar which is open 24/7 and on the honor system was so nice. The breeze was great and NO ONE was ever there but the four of us. The restaurant which is on the second floor was lovely also. The two ladies that not only clean the rooms but cook are so pleasant and our lunch was one of the best. We all ordered either a wrap or tacos made with our choice of fish were wonderful. Tony the Manager was on top of and and everything. We had our own car but choose to use Memito as our taxi driver each evening for our dinners in town. The water is super clear and the beach is great for walking.
We liked everything.

The location was right on the beach, with perfect access. The staff was very friendly, and the experience was super hands off. They run off a honor system that was refreshing to use. It really felt like you were out there on your own which we loved. We had the beach view bungalow, great view of the sunrise! The outdoor shower was perfect as we were diving and spearfishing as our main acitivities. They have bikes, kayaks and paddle boards for rent. Just a great place, the manager Toni was so friendly and attentive - he was always available on whats app, though we only texted like 3 times - not sure if this place is for people who need more hand holding, but Toni seems like the guy who is willing to make many situations work, no problem without a solution!
Thanks for the great stay! Can't wait to come back.
not much to not like -- if i had to say something maaaaayybe brighter patio lighting on our bungalow? But really everything was great!

What can I say? my wife and I arrived as guests and left as friends. In all our travelling, we have never been treated with such genuine hospitality. From checking in to checking out, nothing could have been too much to ask. Tony, you are an incredible host, the simple but honest and professional care you provide all day long is invaluable.
Nelly and the rest of the team is also what makes Ventana Bay Resort the jewel that it is.
It was so great we had to extend our stay:).
And so that other travelers can be aware:
One has to open and close the front gate, carry their own paddleboard or kayak to the shore, help themselves at the bar and write down what they used and yet, this is what makes it home.
That we couldn’t stay forever!

the loveliest hotel I have ever been. The resort is embedded into the natural environment, and we could watch the sunrise from the hammock infront of our room, close to the beach. We got a nice introduction into the facility and could select between many activities like cycling, paddling, of snorkling on the reef nearby

A little piece of paradise! Thoughtfully-built villas integrated with the natural landscape. We awoke to the sound of birds chirping and loved having coffee on our little terrace with water views. So private and unique! The beach was wonderful. Enjoyed kayaking and the stand up paddleboards. Staff were amazing and very caring.

Beautiful location, clean, easy beach access, delicious food at the restaurant, friendly and accessible staff, quiet setting.
I can’t think of a thing!

The breakfast was delicious on the deck overlooking the ocean as were the dinners we had.
We loved spending time in the bar just chilling in the shade, working or for happy hour.
One thing that I have found is that most things are now very expensive in La Ventana & Los Barrilles. Dinners, drinks, food, clothing, jewelry, the markets etc. are now more expensive there then they are in Canada with the canadian dollar exchange rate. That is one thing I find pretty discouraging.

Absolutely loved this hotel! It is a beautiful and peaceful location right on the ocean, and the staff are fantastic! Felt very relaxed and at home, and truly enjoyed the serene ambiance. Went for long walks on the beach & on the nearby hiking trails - did not have time to do all the many activities available in the resort and the town. Did not want to leave!
Nothing.

Lovely location a bit off the main drag in La Ventana. Super quiet and peaceful -- gorgeous beach. Very secure property and we had our own private entrance.

A very nice facility-but the main drawback is despite what the website says there is NO restaurant- and it's very far to go off the property to get to one. I was looking forward to sitting in the chair and drinking some margaritas. There is no bartender- you have to make your own drinks- on an honor system. Breakfast was available but ONLY if you remember to reserve. I got a notice that they would be serving lunch one day- but again = you had to reserve and there was not a menu- you had to eat the one thing the cook was making- and I sat down for lunch at 1pm and wasn't served until 2pm as the staff was extremely slow. Also- there are NO locks on the doors- crazy- first hotel in my 88 countries and hundreds of stays that you cannot lock your door. The lady commented that there was a gate to the property- which is a stupid response- anyone could easily enter the property and furthermore a gate doesn't protect from staff or other guests stealing your things or coming in your room in the middle of the night.
